Location was perfect (a 2 minute walk from o2 institute and bus stop, 10 from the centre)
Very welcome and open staff. Rooms were clean, beds were good and firmly set into the wall, so you don't feel anything with other people in your 'flat' (womans only room).
Silent and a good place for a night sleep.
Coffe and tea during the day, basic breakfast available.
There was no bed light. Would be a plus but not super necessary

This was my third stay at this hostel. I always opt for the private room. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was basic, but enough for what we needed. It was great to have a kettle in the room and a private bathroom, not many hostels offer that option. The location is very good for access to the coach station and although it may look rough, I felt safe even when arriving and leaving late at night. The communal areas are nice, too and very convenient to prepare meals and drinks and socialize. The main thing that we appreciated was that the place was clean and friendly.
The room could do with a full size mirror and a couple of coat hooks and/or hangers. Even some over the door hooks would have made our life a lot easier.

a cheap choice in Birminham
the quarter is old and nervous. Too many 19 centry abandon building in this area.

Super comfortable beds! My room was great and looked newly renovated, and while the bathrooms were older, they were still very clean. Staff were so lovely! Would definitely stay again!
Not in a very brightly lit street so would recommend solo female travellers to arrive before dark. Was also a bit of a trek to get to the airport

If was in a good location close to central part of Birmingham
The bathroom where a bit messy but I do blame the other people staying as some of them where very inconsiderate of other people

The staff were super friendly. Honestly one of the cleanest hostels I've stayed in.
Location would ideally be in a nicer area but totally fine.

It was fairly cheap.
The staff wasn’t that great, it wasn’t comfortable either for a hostel it was quite mid as compared to others. I think the hygiene and cleanliness could be something to look at.

location was great, it was quiet, beds were good, it had a kitchen and free breakfast. would stay again every time
definitely needed a reading light (and maybe a shelf?) in the bunks especially for coming in at night when others were sleeping. the lockers only worked with a padlock with a chunky shackle so I couldn't lock my stuff away either. one of the bathrooms had no shelves/ledges/toilet lid to put stuff on when changing, that would have been helpful to avoid dropping stuff on a wet floor

I mean like the room was fine itself lots of privacy which is good for a mixed dorm. Staff were really friendly.
I was the only female in the mixed dorm so felt super unsafe and uncomfortable. I always opt for female only but this hostel didn’t have that option which doesn’t really make sense, probably would’ve charged more for it too. Didn’t get any sleep as the other guests came in and out all night being loud and disturbing. Even in the morning at like 6.30am making phone calls. Next the location was terrible as it was next to nightclub which had music blaring so loud I could everything in room all night until probably 3am. I tried to close the window but it was permanently open. So overall not a good stay lucky it was only 1 night. I mean the hostel would be fine if you weren’t travelling solo and looking to party.

Very prime location. Very well kept, clean. Very kind and accommodating staff.
It can be a bit noisy outside the property particularly early hours of the morning. Not the property’s fault, just a matter of location.

The size of the lobby/hangout area. My room smelled strongly of sweat when I entered.

The staff were helpful and always was happy to answer any questions I had. There is a full kitchen and tea and coffee downstairs there is a kettle in the room also. Single room was Extremely clean and comfortable however the plug for the sink in the bathroom was stuck and it filled very quickly otherwise everything was amazing. Would definitely stay here again.

Cheap and good atmosphere. Basic and clean
Location is a bit dodgy and beds are not that comfortable but can’t complain for the price.

The place is very clean in all areas, common room, kitchen, bedroom and toilets. Staff is really kind and helpful. On arrival I was surprised to know that breakfast was included. Very simple but effective to start the day! Toasts, marmalades of all tastes, peanut batter, coffee or tea and fruits.

It’s locations second street but dilapidated and terrible, don’t too late come back.
The house keeping staff regardless of whether there is anyone resting in the room, just open your room door and windows than go to cleaning another where.
The beds was not the same in the photo, it was a metal frame and it was very noisy every time I turned around

Clean place. Nice staff. Free breakfast
WiFi didn't reach the room. Only works in the common room. Even though I booked a private room, I couldn't spend much time there because WiFi kept dropping.

I've stayed there before and I really enjoyed my experience. The bunk beds have curtains, which is great for privacy. Complimentary breakfast was a nice touch. There's a nice common area with a TV. The location is close to the city centre.
There's nothing to say here.

Breakfast
Single female room mate came in at midnight, switched on the light, left, never came back for 2 hrs, then returned at 2am and took a long time settling in... very disturbing

It was an amazing stay second time in the backpackers the staff is is amazing I could honestly mention Visha for being the bestest at all the time. An hard working asset for the Organisation.
Well again the same staff not every staff is the same apart from the above mentioned staff there is only one gentlemen who is kind rest of them absolutely pathetic never knew was I the guest or them at some points but never mind attitude is the biggest problem they have mentioning it when approaching them in the absence of visha, gave me this disappointment. I think the management needs to look after this thing.

Good hostel in a central location, 10 minute walk into city, New Street rail station and convenient for the coach station. Basic breakfast with free tea and coffee.
Nothing serious to moan about but perhaps some guests could be quieter by not banging doors, but this is not the hostel''s fault. Room a little cramped with not much space for luggage.

Great location, lovely happy, friendly staff, extremely clean and tidy.
Tea and coffee available ( milk needed)
At the moment there is a free breakfast from 7am to 11am includes bread, jams and peanut butter, milk, tea coffee and max of two fruit.
There is also a fully equipped kitchen with cooking oil, salt and pepper.
There are too many showers and not enough toilets!
Ground floor reception 2 toilets (M/F) 1 toilet for ground floor dorms, 1st floor has 2 toilets etc.

I was pleasantly surprised it was included.
Just bread and 2 pieces of fruit, but when you expect nothing it's a nice bonus, option of some cheap supermarket own brand cereals would of been nice, but I understand if not realistic.
The information on the website didn't match the accommodation.
So I booked a 15 bed room, and got a 6 bed, which is no bad thing, but if you wanted to improve the listing that's where I would start so people don't fear that that are coming to bed being stared at by 14 others.
Only preference I gave was for a 23-midnight check in but this form says it was for a quiet room.
Not sure why that is, but I'm assuming that's nothing to do with the accommodation and more to do with the booking or website.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was great, but a bit loud. The beds were comfortable and you had enough space to put your luggage/bags. The bathrooms and toilet were clean. I was pleasantly surprised with the breakfast.
It was a bit loud, but not too bad.
