The view from our room was spectacular! The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful: fresh fruit (strawberries, cherries, apricots), hard boiled eggs, spinach and cheese pies with home made filo, four types of cereal, several types of local cakes, croissant, wraps with vegs, ham and cheese. Coffee was fresh, the servers were friendly and spoke basic English. The owners (Kiki and Vlassis, fluent in English) were superfriendly and hospitable. On arrival, they served us a delicious lemon liqueur (made by Vlassis himself) and late that evening a sample of the local tsitsiravla, pickled vine shoots with a unique flavor.

No cars can reach the narrow, stone-paved streets called calderimia. Lugging our luggage from our car, which was parked near the edge of the village, to our room was not easy. The rolling wheels of our suitcases were rendered useless on the bumpy stone-paved streets.

A beautiful rustic room was waiting for us, together with a glass of homemade liquor by Mrs. Kiki. She and the rest of the staff really did the extra mile to make our experience memorable. We also loved the view and the tailor-made touristic advice and itineraries they have curated.

We had the most wonderful stay at Archontiko Melanthi. The location is excellent — right in the village with outstanding views of the bay and just a short walk from the central square, shops, and restaurants. From the moment we arrived, we felt truly welcome. All the staff are kind and helpful, and above all, Kiki and her husband are exceptional hosts: generous, warm, and always willing to help. On our first evening, we discovered a guitar in the hotel and ended up singing Greek songs together. The next day was my wife’s birthday, and in the evening they surprised her with a birthday cake while singing “Happy Birthday.” It was such a personal and touching gesture that made our stay unforgettable. We could not have asked for more. We highly recommend this place!
