Personalul foarte amabil, mic dejun excelent, raport calitate-preț foarte bun. Este a doua oară când mă cazez la acest hotel și voi mai reveni.

The hotel was able to arrange a free pick up from the bus station to the hotel. The hotel was moderately close to the beach and supermarkets (aprox. 15-20 minutes walking). The area itself was very quiet and we could enjoy the sound of the birds that were around. The view of the sea was good and extensive, albeit, not as close to the sea as the screenshots of the site would suggest. There is a restaurant right nearby, but we would not recommend it. Instead we recommend Nomad Restaurant on the promenade (12 min via the shortest route or about 30 minutes via the promenade). The Balchik Castle and Gardens are also about 20-30 minutes walking depending on the exact route chosen. The staff was friendly and allowed us to take our breakfast to our room so we could eat privately. The breakfast itself was generally ok. It was diversified each morning so we didn't eat the exact same thing two days in a row. We were served things like salamis, cheese, omelettes, crepes, tomatoes, other meats. And they were always nice in helping open the door for me so I could go up with the food. And we also really enjoyed interacting with their dog Bruno. We also really appreciated the mini fridge in the room that worked extremely well. So much so that on the highest level it actually froze things so we had to tone it down a bit.

Sadly, there's quite a bit to be added here. - Our biggest disappointment was with the fact that the pictures showed a bathtub but when we arrived, to our great displeasure, we had a floor shower, that would basically get everything wet, no separation, no shower curtain, no nothing. We specifically chose the place over other believing we would have a bath tub. - While we did message ahead to ask if their air conditioner was cleaned, due to my partner's health issues, only the exterior was clean, the filters were decidedly not. Despite them confirming they regularly clean the AC. Albeit, some places don't even clean the visible parts. - The air in the hotel as we were going up the stairs to the third floor was incredibly stuffy. We had to take this matter into our own hands and open a window on each floor to air out the place, which was a bit of an improvement. It's one thing to be in a hotel that looks like it is a communism era hotel (which it probably is), and another to not have air circulating through the building at all. After about two days we found the windows closed, and we get that they can't be open all the time, but they should be opened daily at least during the daytime. - The room did look more newly refurbished than the hotel did, but the door looked very old and like someone tried to break in through it. And while we're at the subject of doors, the bathroom door had visible water damage from the shower just being the entire bathroom. - The price was so so for what we got. We've stayed in better locations for less money.
