que d’histoires et de merveilles. Un vrai petit bijou à coté d’un diamant

L’emplacement ideal proche de l’entrée de la muraille et du téléphérique, de la gare ferroviaire également. Plein de restaurant typique a 0- 1-2 min de marche et très bons. ils nous ont proposé de faire une visite de la muraille nocturne juste magnifique à au moins Une fois dans sa vie. les deux employés ( mari et femme) étaient super aimables attentionnés et serviables . la déco juste magnifique et authentique. la patio est très conviviale . Et si jamais en étant de dos a la porte de l’hôtel, prenez à droite descendez env. 200 m et il y a un vieux monsieur qui pose sa table à l’ombre et ses deux perruches et il fait de magnifiques tableaux à l’encre de chine. et pas cher déjà encadré. 😉

Ont dit dormir sur un matelas dur est bon pour le dos mais là c’était d’outre monde lol.

Good clean place for short stay

A traditional SiHeYuan, quite near the train station. Once you reach the BaDaLing Train Station, you need to descend and walk around 1KM to the Hostel.

The walking distance to the Hostel, we travelled during the Summer, very hot.

Nice traditional antique building but not like the photos.

Long waiting to open the door, needed to ask the neighbors for help and when got in they doubted my reservation, not prepared at all.

Struttura pulita. Siamo arrivati in serata, accolti da una signora molto gentile che, benché non parlasse inglese, si è prodigata per metterci a nostro agio comunicando tramite traduttore. La camera era spaziosa e dotata di ogni comfort. Al mattino colazione cinese composta da ravioli in brodo, un uovo sodo, due paninetti a vapore e alcuni sottaceti.

It was beyond my expectations! The nice lady host was very accommodating and sweet.

It’s really more a hotel or Bed and Breakfast than a hostel because you do get your own private modern bathroom plus hearty Asian breakfast style comes with the stay! Love the heated floors, comfortable firm bed, rain shower faucet, nice hot showers appreciated during my cold winter stay. Close walking distance to the S2 train, bus 919 and the express train is about 15 min walk away from the hotel located in the small historic district. Driver service for small fee is also available.

Hard to find in the beginning. Better directions would be helpful.

Great location, friendly host and relaxing atmosphere.

Host was very friendly and helpful. I went for the great Wall marathon and he even gave me a lift to the venue the next morning.

It was a bit noisy at night time. It didn't get quiet until about 11pm. Normally, this wouldn't have been a problem but I wanted an early night to get up a race the next day.

beautiful hostel with nice people and easy to reach

it‘s sweet place, the staff was super nice and it was easy to get around. Also, it was no problem to check-in as foreigners and the heating in the room was good as it had a floor heating. The main hall was rather cold, but they put on an oven for us. It can be reached easily from the train station and it’s less than a 5 minutes walk into the “old” town. we totally recommend this place.

A great place for an overnight visit from Beijing.

This is such a quaint hotel. The lobby is simply delightful. The proprietors were very helpful and knew how to use a translator to communicate with guests that do not speak Chinese. The location is perfect and within walking distance to the Great Wall. The room rate is very affordable.

The rooms are very small. They are fine for one or two guests, but a too small for a family. Next time we will book two rooms. Also, the lobby was not heated and too cold to relax in it during the winter.

Great Wall Courtyard Hostel

This is a beautiful, traditional courtyard house transformed into a hostel. The covered courtyard in the centre is a tranquil, communal space complete with the relaxing sounds of a fish pond in the centre. The bedrooms I saw all led off from the courtyard, each complete with its own bathroom. Sunny and crew- including their gorgeous little pet schnauzer- are incredibly friendly and make you feel welcome and at home. Finally, the location was fantastic: it was a 10 minute walk to the cable cars that take you up to Badaling, and from there you can enjoy a 2 hour walk down the wall to come off it at the Bear park entrance. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

There was perhaps a damp smell in our room, and it was pretty cold. This didn’t detract from the stay though.

Great hostel!

Very well decorated, full of plants, with nice Chinese ornaments. Wonderful location! Walking distance to Badaling Great Wall. We walked everyday to go eat at Subway, KFC, Dico and other options in the Badaling food court area. The Badaling train station (not bullet train) is only 200m away from the hostel. Tickets to Beijing costs surprisingly cheap, only 7RMB per person. My kids and I liked The Great Wall Courtyard so much that we decided to stay an extra day. I recommended this place to friends and would definitely stay there again!

Our family stayed one night here before we climbed wall in the morning. It was a good decision because we avoided the crowd by heading to the wall early in the morning. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. Highly recommended!

great location, perfect price and more than wonderful lovely hosts!

The hosts are two very lovely Chinese locals, husband and wife, and they are the most welcoming, warm and generous people. I was very impressed by the wonderful location and the friendly service. The hosts offer more than what's expected and provide you with any good advice or a coffee or whatever you need, for free. If I ever come back to the Wall, I will definitely visit again. I was probably visiting at a very odd time of the year because I was the only guest in the entire location and thus it felt a bit weird to be completely alone in a guest house where usually lots of different people meet and have a chat. But it's not necessarily a negative point, just something to mention. I visited on Nov 19 and 20 in 2019.
