This was the most charming inn. We loved the outdoor seating which was perfect for enjoying a pint in the summer breeze. The food for breakfast and dinner was delicious. I have never had such wonderful hollandaise sauce in all my life and that is my favorite. Loved the fish and chips and white bait too. And, the topper was walking to the beautiful beach. It was completely amazing.

The Ship is a lovely hotel. For a quiet getaway, away from the business of life, the location is fab. It is great for dogs! There are many walking trails around the area. The food was nice. Breakfast was good. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was lovely. The snacks and tea/coffee station was stocked with lovely products. Staff were amazing and so friendly and helpful. Generally cleanliness was good. They provided a dog bed, 2 bowls and some treats.
We stayed in the Guild Hall room on the second floor. There was a couple with dogs in the room above us. Unfortunately, every time the dogs jumped off the bed or the guests got out of bed we heard the thumps and the footsteps, even the bathroom light being switched on. This went on for maybe 2 hours on and off between around 10pm to midnight, so it was very difficult to get some sleep plus it was unsettling our dog who was happily asleep around the noise. It looks like an old building so I'm not really sure if there's any way of solving that particular soundproof issue.
I also found the pillows on the bed quite uncomfortable. There were some big cobwebs above the bed that could have easily been cleared.
The stairs in the entrance hall up to the rooms really could've done with a good hoover - but again this does not affect the enjoyment of the stay.
Generally, we were not overly affected by the cobwebs or pillows but as someone that comes from hospitality, I felt it was important to share.
Despite the noise - which eventually settled just after midnight - we enjoyed our stay.
