The room is spacious. The bed comfortable.

The bathroom. The bathroom is for wheelchair user. The shower, the sink all very short. No cover in the shower, so water spill all over the floor, which can be very unsafe for an abled body person. Also no dressing table.

Great stay, amazing facilities, fab breakfast

The reception staff, particularly the girl on duty when we arrived 2pm 6th November, was so good. I had spoken to her over the phone the previous day and she was so helpful and friendly

The bedroom was a bit dark and the bathroom was a little worn. I needed a better light to apply makeup. Don’t get me wrong it was lovely and clean , just needs a very little tlc

Pleasant stay in the Talbot and would recommend others to stay.

The breakfast was very good with a large range of food and options. The location is on the edge of Carlow and a good walk into the centre of the town

The hotel was very clean, staff are friendly, dinner & breakfast are very nice and drinks & dinner are well priced!! Pool was clean and the gym was also great! Loved that the Dome was right next door for the kids. Evening entertainment was also good.

Disappointing Stay Despite Great Location and Facilities

The hotel is in a fantastic spot, with many shops, restaurants, and conveniences just across the street, which made it easy to grab anything we needed or enjoy a quick outing. It’s also very family-friendly, offering great facilities for kids—something I really appreciated. The gym was another highlight; it was spacious, well-equipped, and one of the best I’ve seen in a hotel.

I was really looking forward to a relaxing stay, but unfortunately, my experience at this hotel was far from pleasant. From the beginning, I felt that some of the staff were not friendly or willing to help. When I asked for a trolley to move my luggage, the receptionist seemed unsure where it was and said she needed to check with the managers. Instead of actively trying to locate it or make a call, she simply remained seated, waiting for someone to appear—leaving me standing there with all my luggage and no assistance. It felt like my request was not a priority at all. The layout of the hotel rooms is also inconvenient. They are placed along corridors with heavy, secured doors that slam loudly every time someone enters or exits. Even from inside our room, we could clearly hear the doors banging throughout the day and night, which made it very difficult to rest. On top of that, there was loud music playing, adding to the noise and overall discomfort. Between the unhelpful attitude from staff and the constant noise disturbance, the atmosphere felt more stressful than relaxing. Unfortunately, this stay did not meet my expectations, and I did not feel valued as a guest

Staff were welcoming and friendly. The option of a later check-out was very welcome. The kettle/iron/hair-dryer etc was useful. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. The food was good and available until 9pm which made a difference with my late arrival.

The bathroom needed a little TLC - cracked tiles in places. Somewhere cosy to sit downstairs, away from the TV screens and football, would have been nice.

Breakfast was excellent, the bedroom was spacious and prepared in advance with a cot for our baby, check in was very quick and easy, and the hotel itself is very nice in terms of decor.

Staff… Kerry/kelly(?) breakfast chef/staff and Chelsea…room size and breakfast.

Used plaster on floor and side locker had coffee stains. Room turned around fast for early check-in so possibly less detailed scrub than usual!

Lovely hotel and staff very accommodating

The room was really nice and good size stayed with my daughter the option of kids club was great. Food was lovely, location was good too. Staff were lovely and handled my complaint very professionally.

On the second night could hear music and party going on in the ballroom below us until 2am. It was very loud and no one answering at reception as ask about it. I spoke with staff member on check out and she asked the manager to come talk to me. He apologised and explained families should not have been placed on that side of the hotel that it was a mistake on their part and offered some compensation. Would definitely stay again and make sure we stayed on the other side of the hotel especially if with my family.

Relaxing, very convenient and enjoyable stay.

Lovely hotel and staff. Breakfast was nice and varied. Pool was clean and well kept. Our room was also clean and spacious.

Breakfast foods ( cheese and meats) were touching which isn’t great as we are on a halal diet. I have requested this before hand.

Unbelievable staff with my very disruptive staff. Nothing was too much and they helped me relax as they were so friendly with him. Easy access everywhere. Water jugs in rooms and access to water near lifts great idea

Dirty room upon arrival. Swimming pool had the local aqua aerobics class on rendering it unusable in the morning. A heads up would of been nice. Gym is well used by the locals. Food was very overpriced for the quality. No air conditioning in the room only a table fan. Beds very uncomfortable.

The room. The bathroom had a terrible smell, no fan in bathroom so the smell filted out to the rest of the room. Carpet had a lot of stains on it a little bit of spot washing needed. I did report the smell at reception and was told the maintenance man wouldn't be in till 10 ó clock the next morning.

Hotel was easy to locate. Plenty of parking.

Check in staff were not particularly efficient or friendly. Hotel was noisey late into the evening and early morning. Had dinner in the restaruant (staff effiient) but food was average at best.

Breakfast was ok, I wouldn't recommend it. I was down at breakfast for half 8 and most of the food was gone (no sign of anyone refilling anything). The hot food that we got was absolutely freezing
