We liked the good location and the great staff. The receptionist was very attentive and helpful. He allowed us to check in earlier than our scheduled check-in time, which was very necessary after a long trip. He also gave us a card for free public transportation.

I would definitely recommend the hotel and even the room assuming they fix the window.

The room was a single room with a small bed for one person. For this type of room it was well organised and felt quite spacious and comfortable. Sometimes as a lone traveller it can feel like you got put in the cupboard but this was not the case.

The window on the bathroom was broken and did not shut properly. I don't know if the heating not working in there was related but it was basically freezing in the bathroom. (There were 2 doors between the bathroom and the bedroom and it was perfectly warm in the bedroom.) The pillows on the bed were terrible and the bed was not that comfortable.

Walkable from railway station

We booked a superior room with balcony. The room and the bathroom were spacious. The bed was ok. Having an elevator was helpful. Breakfast was average. Location was handy from the train station, just across the street and up the first street behind the McDonalds - a tough walk with large suitcases. We opted for a taxi for 10chf but it was doable to walk down to the station at the end of our stay

A fair amount of delayed maintenance. The rooms had at one time had outside rolling metal shutters. These now hung useless covering have the window. Hot water took a LONG time to reach the 4th floor. On registering we were told the times for breakfast and on checking out that breakfast wasn’t included and thus charged

Older hotel but exceptionally well looked after and clean. The location is superb, 5 mins (uphill walk) from Lousanne main train station. The room was very spacious, bed was comfortable and the bath tub was a life saver after a full on day hiking. There is a lift there in case you have heavy luggage and breakfast was simple but exceptional. Staff are very lovely too.

The room does not have an air conditioner, only a fan. It gets hot during the summer so be aware.

Sweet hotel with questionable attitude towards stuff

I like this hotel,it's not my first time and every time it's cozy, has a nice garden and I generally like it, the breakfast is delicious, the coffee was great

While we were eating, I have heard loud screams from staff area. I thought it was some crazy customer but later I learned it was a male morning manager/receptionist who shouted something like "I'm better than you" multiple times to female kitchen staff in poor English. They looked sad afterwards, even though they worked well before and after being screamed at. I thought it was rude and unacceptable, and definitely was a big downside of the stay Of course, he was polite to us afterwards, but in my mind nobody should be spoken to like this in the civilized society. Further more, it's not easy for a normal person to continue their day after seeing something like this

Lovely traditional hotel

We loved the traditional feel of this hotel. It’s a lovely building in a very convenient location but please be aware Lausanne is extremely hilly - if you arrive by train and have large luggage, you should consider a taxi from the station. We had a fab 4th floor room with big balcony and a view of the lake - see pics. There is a small fridge and coffee machine in the room with pods replenished daily and room was cleaned every day. Comfy beds and a couple of extra chairs - just a nice comfy and large room. When we checked in we were given a Lausanne travel card which provided free transport within certain zones - it covers you to Montreux.

Although there is AC in the room it didn’t seem very effective and the weather was very hot during our stay. That said, the room didn’t overheat because there is a big canopy over the balcony plus electric shutters which we kept closed during the day to keep the sun out. I just would have preferred the AC to be colder. The shower was over the bath so please be aware if you have any mobility issues.

We left several days early.

No air conditioning in our room. It was extremely hot. Most of my negatives are my own. Anyone would probably have liked it. I made a mistake booking a room with no air and not enough seating in the room. The hotel is straight up the hill from the train station but a difficult walk dragging a suitcase. No restaurants were open on Sunday near the hotel.

I would not recommend this hotel, the moment you book, they block you from changing or modifying your booking, even if it's in the same hour, so I don't recommend booking this hotel as they are not like other hotels who give you a bit of time to.modify.

The front desk staff were great. Antoine is a great asse to the property. Friendly and helpful.

Good location, nice staff.

Very good location, only a few steps opposite the train station. Very near old town and around half hour walk to Olympic Museum and the lake. The pressure of showers are better than I expected. Excellent breakfast. Very nice staff offering valuable information and they even remembered who you’re.

everything was great, great WiFi, clear and tidy room, great and helpful staff, breakfast was terrific .For location one could not ask for better and with free travel card provided by the hotel it made our life so easy to travel around without need to keep looking for place to buy a tram or bus tickets. plus it does save you money.

the hotel does not have air conditioning or coffee making facility specialy as we are very much coffee addicts. the staff did offer to make us coffee but breakfast was more then accommodating. during our stay the weather was cool and the 2 windows provided more then adequate ventilation. (with help of a fan)

Family run hotel for train people

Nice family run hotel, needs renovation, but staff compensate for that. Excellent location for trainstation (you just need to climb 70 steps which is good for your condition).
