Overall a very positive experience

Location was great, close to the sea, shops and we loved the little pool for the kids and for us even though there should be some umbrella provided for shade and comfort. The walk in the evening along the coastline was beautiful. We slept well and enjoyed the air conditioning in the apartment. We loved having a balcony with sea view. We enjoyed a fantastic dinner in the restaurant downstairs. We really appreciated having a washing machine too.

It would have been useful to have a fan to move the air as the air conditioning didn't quite cool down the bedrooms enough and also in case the air conditioning stopped working (which it did temporarily on the last day) and it would be a kind gesture to provide guests with basic supplies in case they arrive late at night like us (a bit of milk in the fridge, some tea and coffee and few biscuits would do), this is what we usually get in the UK when we go anywhere. The little shop (Tommy) nearby is very small and with extortionate prices. We had to get a taxi or Uber to Lidl and the mall which should have taken 15 min but took half an hour each way because the traffic on the only road available is always horrendous. By

Happy Stay. Recommended.

We booked 4 apartments, for 4 families, 18 of us. The apartments are clean, spacious and nicely furnished. In each apartment, you find two comfortable master bedrooms with large queen/king beds, two bathrooms and a spacious living room with a sofa bed that fits two in addition to a kitchenette with full appliances. The balcony was lovely overlooking the sea. The parking was very convenient. Easy access to Le Meridien Lav beach. Daily cleaning is provided with fresh towels and toiletries on request. Good air-conditioning in all the rooms. Darko was very hospitable and kind, arranged our stay and handled all our requirements very professionally. All in all, it was a very comfortable and happy stay.

The hot water in the showers is limited and intermittent. Also, it would have been great if there was a washing machine in the apartment. Must buy your own coffee capsules. Though the location in Podstrana is beautiful, it is a short drive to reach Split. Without traffic, it is quite smooth and fast. With traffic, it becomes quite lengthy.

Ok for a short stay.

Lovely apartment, very clean and well maintained, comfortable double bed, good shower, polite helpful staff.

Entrance was a car park, very small pool area, only 6 sun beds, people queuing up to 1 hour before. we booked a 2 double bed room and one room was very small with 2 tiny single beds. (very small for 2 adults). We arrived at 10pm and there were no shops, bars, restaurants to eat or even to buy water despite being advertised that there’s a 24 hour shop at reception, restaurant on site serving breakfast for €15 per head, nowhere else within walking distance.

The staff are very welcoming and extremely helpful, there is a small supermarket at the top of the steps going up to the main road which is great for stocking up on essentials, it’s so close to the beach for chill days and it’s equal distance for day or night trips to split and Omis.

The pool is a little small, but the beach is only 50mtrs away so it’s fine

Very nice and modern accommodation but no beach facilities included

Just two minutes walk to the beach (which is mainly occupied by the neighbouring Le Méridien hotel). Very clean and modern rooms with comfortable beds. We stayed five days in a studio room which has a fridge, microwave, egg cooker, toaster, water kettle an a Dolce Gusto coffee maker, and a large balcony. There’s a small supermarket on the main road behind (above) the hotel, about five minutes away. There are also many restaurants, either on the main road or in both directions on the beach. The ladies at the reception were very nice and friendly. Split is approximately 10 kilometres away and can be reached by public bus from the main road or by BOLT/UBER services. All in all, we can recommend the Residence for a beach vacation.

The Residence hotel has only a minuscule pool with a few (6) sun beds and no shade. Neither do they have their own beach area with sun beds and umbrellas. All these services/facilities are owned by the neighbouring Méridien hotel. If you want a real pool and beach facilities, you have to register there. In June 2022, they charged 300 Kuna (40 €!!!) per person per day for guests who stay at the Residence- which in my opinion is impertinent. Everyone can use the beach though but you have to bring your own towels, sun chairs etc. And please note, there’s no shade - bring your own umbrellas!!! The Residence hotel should also offer these services for their guests, either for free or a nominal fee.

We had a lovely time in Croatia but would not stay at this hotel again.

The apartment was beautiful. Fabulous views and cleanliness was excellent.

The Residence Hotel is not a hotel in the traditional sense. There was a breakfast in a small restaurant on the ground floor of the building which was not accessible from reception. There was no access to food or cold drinks outside of breakfast hours. There were no hotel facilities. On the last day we discovered that there was a library in the basement. It was not advertised or talked about by the staff.

Very misleading description and photos.

Apartment was clean and well equipped.

This is not a Hotel. Broom cupboard reception, no bar, no restaurant apart from overpriced breakfast. Swimming pool that is kids paddling pool located in the car park. Access to a beach where the attendants from next door hotel move you on bruskly if you don’t pay their €40 per person daily charge to use sun umbrella. Total lack of info on any local amenities as well as rip off prices for excursions. Booked for a week but moved out after 2 days.

Great spot, midnight wake up from staff

Clean, spacious, great location!

We were not asked for a payment at the time that we checked in. We assumed that there was already a card on file. At around midnight before our 6 am flight, we were woken up by staff frantically requesting a payment. The staff was aware of our early checkout because they were helpful at scheduling an early airport taxi at the time of check in.

Exceptional

The location is perfect, the beaches in Podstrana are beautiful! The hotel has distance from the activities and guests at the Hotel Lav (Meridien), so it was quiet & allowed me to sleep with no problem. I definitely recommend staying here if you're visiting Split, its nice to decompress in Podstrana in the morning and charge up before heading out at night.

Good self catering choice in Croatia

All good. Lovely, well equipped and clean flat with a full width balcony and sea view. We had one with 2 bedrooms/bathrooms. It also had a sofa bed suitable for one person and we requested another small bed for a child. Flat had dishwasher and washing machine, well equipped kitchen, towels were regularly swapped. Location great for famies with small children or couples looking for a beach break in the sun. Hotel reception arranged transfers to and from the airport and also printed off testing documents that we needed for travel.

Wow such a wonderful place to stay!

This place was amazing, I cannot recommend it enough! We stayed In he three bedroom apartment on the top floor and it was beautiful! Wall to ceiling floors with the most fabulous sea view! The apartment was immaculately clean and very beautiful. Nikolina and the other girls who work at the hotel were amazing and so helpful. They would arrange for their driver at the hotel to take us to Split and collect us whenever we wished too. Podstrana was a really pleasant surprise, the beach is on the doorstop of the hotel and a couple of really pretty restaurants are beachside too which in the evening have the most beautiful sunsets. We were a family of 4 two adults one daughter 21 and the other 13 and this holiday was great aa it had just the right amount of balance between quiet and peaceful and then lively when we went to Split. We will definetely return..
