We were extremely disappointed with this hotel from the moment we arrived. The condition of the room did not match the description or the photos on the website at all. The room was clearly neglected and very outdated: walls with stains, paint marks and scratches from furniture, greasy spots, dead flies on the bed and on the floor, damaged bathroom doors, and very old, worn-out curtains. Overall, everything looked old, poorly maintained and unpleasant, giving the impression that no renovation has been done for many years. We immediately informed the staff that we were unhappy with the condition of the room. They offered to show us two alternative rooms, but both were in the same poor condition, which shows that this is a general problem of the hotel, not an isolated case. Despite our justified complaints, the staff refused to make any refund. As a result, we contacted Booking, and their support team sent an official request to the hotel regarding our situation. Unfortunately, even after Booking’s intervention, the hotel management still refused to do anything for us, including refusing to refund the money. We would like to thank Booking for their excellent customer support — despite the hotel’s refusal. I regretted that only 4 photos can be attached to the review — there are significantly more drawbacks.

Gorgeous location with mountain and country views everywhere you look. The pool area and views were beautiful and the pool temp was lovely even in October. Easy access by bus to Interlaken. Quaint little township. Fantastic breakfast. Lovely staff.

Tis hotel is a hidden gem worth every penny!

The view, OMG! Stunning! The hotel is located in a green meadows surrounded by three lush green mountains and an iced capped one. This is a gem. When you want to relax and unwind, this is a place to go to. After a whole day hiking and sightseeing, you can plunge on the heated swimming poll and have a nice drink. What more? The staff are very friendly, accommodating, polite and helpful.

A good stopover for a night. Not perfect, but quite nice.

The hotel is located in a very nice village, easy to reach by a mountain road, with very comfortable parking. The building is old but fits perfectly into the surroundings, giving it a traditional charm. The reception is fast and well organized, a little bit of a hostel feeling, but overall friendly and efficient.

Decent/Good choice.

The rooms are modest, nothing luxurious, but you get what you expect and pay for. If you’re lucky with an upper-floor room, the balcony offers a beautiful view. Soundproofing could be better - sometimes you hear the neighbours above or next to you, but that’s part of the character of the place. The hotel is located in a very nice village, easy to reach by a mountain road, with very comfortable parking. The building is old but fits perfectly into the surroundings, giving it a traditional charm. The reception is fast and well organized, a little bit of a hostel feeling, but overall friendly and efficient.

Overall, it’s a good stopover for a night. Not perfect, but quite nice — and the fact that I stayed here for the second time says enough.

The views aren’t worth that much money the hotel asks for average facility.

The location of the property is amazing due to the views over the Alps. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful upon our arrival. Smooth check in and out.

During the breakfast the tables aren’t cleaned from the other people leftovers, so despite the empty from people breakfast room one cannot enjoy to sit by the windows with the view. So one needs to find a clean table without the view but still eat in the mess around This is very sad. Also the staff is noisy when doing the rooms so it’s not possible to take a nap in the late morning. It they decide to vacuum clean the reception area before 7 am.

The location of the hotel is unreal, perfectly situation is picturesque Wilderswil on the edge of the Jungfrau. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The properties overall could do with a little bit of love and modernisation and the breakfast was average at best.

Location = perfect. 5th floor with view was excellent.

The food was stale, croissant tasted like from the day before, the cutlery was dirty and the eggs were cold. The room said “1 large bed” which is why we booked this hotel for our wedding anniversary. But there were 2 separate beds with 2 separate mattresses next to one another. We slept badly and my wife had neck pain the next day due to bad sleep. Furthermore the walls are paper thin so we woke up multiple times to neighbors laughing, raising their voice and even showering/toilet flushing noises. For $150 I would be OK, maybe $200. But not worth $350

Bad facilities in single room

The view is absolutely fascinating. It was quiet too, just to my liking.

I think I got bad luck and had the worst single room. There is no window in the bathroom and I could see mold behind the newly painted ceiling in the bathroom. There were cracks around the shower tap... I think it was because they didnt do refurbishing in this room I got, and it was not worth the price and not what I expected.

Only one thing i liked in this hotel is the view from the room. The remaining hopeless and not at all worth for their charges.

Reaching this property is very difficult, no train, bus, taxi around. Water flow in the shower is very poor, breakfast average. You will waste your valuable time for finding transportation !!!

Great location and staff

Great location and rural position above a beautiful village, overlooking the lake. Walkable to restaurants and station. Attractive grounds and swimming pool. Pleasant dining room and decent breakfast. Lovely staff, really friendly, professional and helpful. Small but efficient elevator. We had a spectacular view of Eiger and Jungfrau.

The fabric of the hotel is rather tired and could do with updating in a number of areas. We had a balcony but it looked insecure and consequently we did not sit on it. The weather was extremely hot, in the 30’s - our room was very cramped and unbearably warm with no aircon. There was a fan but it was very noisy. The hotel has many good features but a few adjustments would really improve the experience. This is not a budget stay and was very expensive.

Charming, beautiful stay overlooking all of Interlaken!

Great location - we got a room overlooking the whole town of Interlaken with Harder Kulm in the background. Just a 6 minute walk from the bus stand (with buses every 30 mins), or a 15 minute downhill walk to the train station (<10 mins to Interlaken). Nice, cosy breakfast spread. Efficient daily housekeeping.

1. Check-in delay of 20+ minutes because of issues during the check-in of another guest. 2. Room was smaller than expected, but this is still the best value for money deals in all of Interlaken.

Relaxing with exceptional views!

Views and quiet location with an amazing nature setting that can’t be beat. Although a bit dated, and could use fresh paint as a face lift, our room was exceptionally clean. The staff were all very kind and helpful especially Linda who gave us lots of advice and was very sweet. My husband said the breakfasts were plentiful and delicious. We wish we could have stayed longer just to stay at the hotel itself and enjoy the sounds of the farm animals and take in the views of the snowcapped mountains and lake and the quaint little village of Wilderswil!

delightful place with great view

We came from Lucerne in the morn for our stay. we didn’t wait for the bus but decided to walk as google showed 15 mins. To our amazement and consternation google took us right through the middle of a field without a proper road! After 20 mins of huffing and puffing with 3 medium sized bags we reached the property after a good climb. When we went back to the station google showed us the shorter route and it is almost a straight walk of 15 mins to the station from the hotel. Once in the property the experience was amazing…the room we got had 4 beds, the view outside the window was amazing. We could see the valley and the mountains at a distance….Jungfru…..all other places are close by from Wilderswil like Lauterbrunnen, wengen, murres, grindelwald etc. The folks at the front desk were very helpful as one of the member was a bit under the weather. We even got a taxi on our way back to Interlaken.

Be prepared to lug your luggage up to a 30 m elevation when coming to stay at this place.

it was an amazing trip. the staff was very polite and helpful. the view was soo mesmerising and breathtaking. it snowed on the second day of our stay and there was a huge difference between the amount of snow in the city and at the hotel. would definitely recommend.

We personally liked that the location was off the beaten path, nestled in the hillside, away from traffic. Awesome views, quiet, yet still close to a few restaurants, bars, and travel centers. The staff was very friendly, and very genuine—treated is like family.

The property is in disrepair in some places. To be clear, the good out-weighed the bad, but there is a lot of work to be done on the property. Stairs coming up to the property, dated fixtures in bathrooms, balcony wood rotting and a bit sketchy.

Comfortable stay and ultimate unforgettable alpine views.

Hotel with one of the ultimate views of the Alps and great positioning for visiting so many sites in the region. Staff on reception and at breakfast are really helpful and welcoming. Breakfast is plentiful and sets you up for the day. We have stayed in the Berghof before and always felt welcome on our return.

Rooms and general decor does require a refresh, although everything is clean. Some minor maintenance required and i am sure the hotel would benefit on providing evening meals or a kitchenette facility.
