The hotel feels a bit dated, and the price is quite high considering its condition. The balcony is only separated from the neighboring room by a few plant dividers, so the privacy is not great. That said, there are some good points. Free parking is available, which is very convenient. The staff are friendly and helpful. Also, while many hotels in Switzerland don’t provide fans or fridges in the room, this hotel does offer a fan and a shared refrigerator, which is a nice bonus.

Hotel Berghof Amaranth has a truly stunning view and a peaceful, quiet location. The surroundings are beautiful, and the hotel is well positioned for exploring Grindelwald and the nearby attractions. However, the lack of air conditioning during summer made sleeping very difficult, especially on warmer nights. With proper air conditioning, the stay would have been much more comfortable. Overall, it is a lovely hotel for the view, location, and peaceful atmosphere, but summer guests should be aware of the room temperature.

I had a lovely stay here. I found this option as an alternative to Grindelwald where my friends were staying. The view from the room was beautiful and the breakfast was great. I highly recommend.
