Clean, comfortable accommodations, exquisite food and drink, and delightful staff!

The room was clean and quiet, and the bedding delightful – with a down comforter on each half of the comfortable double bed. Dinner at Chartreuse was exquisite! Ates, the Hotel and Restaurant Coordinator, recommended the best wine we’ve ever had (which is saying something!). We had a delicious three-course dinner, including yummy, crusty bread, a fennel leaf salad, roast rack of lamb, sage butter ravioli stuffed with Italian sausage, and tiramisu dessert. Our servers, Elena and Lorena, were delightful and engaging. Clearly, it gives them joy to see to it that their customers have an unforgettable experience!

Beautiful and comfortable Italian style hotel

Our favourite place to stay in the area of Thun, fully refurbished, the staff is always super kind, they have in the room soeder soaps that smell amazing, and they always take good care of us as vegans for breakfast! Plus they have air conditioning which is not so common to be found

The only thing I would improve is the fact that there are no blinds, just curtains and there is light coming in the room, especially in one of them that has a small window with no curtain so our baby woke up way too early due to that

Comfortable stay close to beautiful lake

Spacious room, with comfortable beds and good shower. Breakfast ok and dinner good. Extremely helpful and helpful (Italian) waiter.

Room a bit sparse, no spare pillow. Arrived on Monday when reception and restaurant closed so had to find our own way around

Great boutique hotel as a base if you are exploring the Bernese Oberland

I stayed for three nights while exploring Interlaken and surrounding area. The superior room was such good value - very clean and spacious bathroom. The breakfast included was lovely and one day they even packed a lunch for me as I went off on an excursion. To top it off, the staff were very nice. Highly recommend Italian Lifestyle Hotel & Osteria Chartreuse!

Fab hosts and perfect service!

We stayed at this hotel for the Swiss Ironman event. The hosts were so prepared to help out the athletes with such specific requests - totally fabulous!!!

Pleasant stay on the lake of Thun

The property is a nicely renovated old house. It is well located, just outside the centre of Thun and close enough to many beautiful sites, in particular the Jungfrau region but also e.g. the Unesco biosphere. Easy private parking. Breakfast was very good, both the coffee and the choice of food, including a warm dish (eggs). The restaurant is also good, Italian cuisine. On the first floor (with rooms) there is a cosy space with chairs, flyers about the region and a decent Nespresso coffee machine (with caps provided and refilled each day). Good level of cleanliness.

The bed was not comfortable and that is the main weakness. Not only was it not a double bed, unlike the description on Booking (they were two beds with two separate mattresses), but it did not have proper mattresses (rather, thin toppers). While the room was quite large, there is a lot of unused space (e.g. a sofa/chairs/a larger table or wardrobe could be added) and the bathroom is rather small. Check-in was ok but we had to wait a bit before someone arrived from the kitchen/restaurant (we arrived at dinner time).

Lovely stay with a delicious dinner! Would absolutely stay here again!

My favorite was the dinner in the downstairs restaurant. Both meals I had were honestly so very delicious! I am admittedly a food snob and these were the best meals I had during my week vacation. Purposely returned on time so I could eat there and not somewhere else. The people were also so pleasant and nice. They gave off a family vibe. I think it is a family that owns/runs it. The room was very clean but very minimalistic bare bones decor. Loved the free parking as the area required me to have a rental car to visit all of the places I needed to go to. But everything was in a 10-30 minute distance and a VERY picturesque drive to all places! Loved it!

The breakfast was lacking especially with such a delicious dinner menu I just thought it would have been better. It is my favorite meal of the day but there was only plain unseasoned eggs as the only hot option to add onto the rest of the cold options. Just add a more robust breakfast and it would be a perfect!

Lovely cosy place to be

The quality of the breakfast buffet. Although tiny but the products offered mighty. Excellent choice of bread. Fantastic assorted cheese. sensational ham, salami and such cold cuts. Very nicely renovated rooms, very comfy beds, stylish bath with abig walk in shower cabin. As a coffee lover you get offered a selection of nespresso coffee pads which you can use in a chilly lounge room on the same floor as your room is located.

Limited options on the breakfast buffet in regards of marmalade or little bakery things like muffins, popcake or pancakes.

Relaxing

The staff were welcoming and friendly. The breakfast area was relaxing, with natural light, no artificial harness that often greets you first thing in the morning in larger hotels. The breakfast was good, and despite being very busy the two serving staff kept the buffet stocked and got to guests in a timely fashion. The walk to Thun is very pleasing.
