It was very private and quiet - peaceful and beautiful scenery
The gravel road was a bit rough and the dinners, though delicious, were a little overpriced.

It was a cosy little hidden gem 💎 and it was welcoming and nice. The property was very spacious and the designs, like for the light and reading corner is a cute and new idea. Its surrounded by trees and nature 🍄🟫 so it has a 'natural' vibe. The pool and sauna was good too and we enjoyed our stay a lot.
The property was on a very tangly and long road 🛣️, making it a bit hard to access.

We loved everything - though we've been there a couple of times now and will book our favourite villa in our favourite area next time.

I loved the room with the view. The massive comfortable bed
I didn’t dislike anything. The road up to it is a bit windy though.

We absolutley loved the staff. ALL were big smiles, and happy to have a chat about local places of interest.
A massive call out to Tanisha, the General Manager. You and your staff are 2nd to none. You are friendly, helpful, cheerful and knowledgeable of the area. And the young ladies working with you are fantastic too.
The room was large with a separate bathroom fitted with THE best shower EVER! ..and a spa bath that WAS NOT working. 😭
Bed and room were super comfortable.
BIG tip, it is pricey, but eat at the Lodge restaurant at least once. (The food is 3 course fine dining, and it is deeee vine!
And do the breakfast as well.
I will recommend Woodhouse Mountain Lodge very strongly.
The spa not working.
The carparking. (It is a walk to and from the car to the villa, and it should be noted that it is steep. (Be warned if you are mobility impaired).
5ks of loose metal driving, and tight corners. (Personally, I loved it. But if you are an inexperienced, or not a confident driver,....).
Personally, the carpark and the spa are the only reason I can not give this a 10.

Wonderful location, friendly staff, great food, great settings all around the property.
No hand towels in room (bathroom) and the bath lights went all night changing colour and could be seen from the bed. Need instructions for using the bath…

Overall experience was excellent with very polite and attentive staff, with excellent communication, great food and nice peaceful surroundings.
A few small things like broken slats on venetian blinds at entry which spoils first impressions, a few hooks on curtains missing resulting in a drooping curtain. Windows needed a bit of a clean to enhance what are ammazing views. Debris from lawn mowing and leaves if cleared from just around unit would have added just a bit more of a wow factor. Appreciate the time of year but little detail s can sometimes add just an extra dimension to a special location.

We had a lovely stay at Woodhouse Mountain Lodge. We enjoyed the somewhat remote location, though still handy enough to town, and the relaxed vibe it offered. We would definitely like to stay here again.

Staff were lovely. They’ve clearly put money in to the main building, beautifully decorated and cozy. Breakfast was great.
The room was a little tired and needed a bit more attention with the cleaning. Our toilet needed a good scrub as did the shower glass grime. Would have been nice to sit outside for a coffee but there were no outdoor cushions and the chairs had cobwebs. The changing room at the spa was also very unclean.

One night stay, the view was magnificent, dinner was exceptional and the staff were amazing.
While we enjoyed the bath, it was a little disappointing to find the spa didnt work.

The property was stunning. The rooms were comfortable and an element of luxury for the stay.
Even though they had a restaurant it would have been handy to have a couple of plates or bowls in the rooms. Only had glasses and cups.

Well managed by the two staff, they are always present and attentive. Chef create a menu that is workable for both dinner and breakfast. Not compromising on presentation, taste and local seasonal ingredients. Note there is no TV in room but who need it when surrounded by nature. Your bed is pure evil, had the most wonderful sleep. Birthday husband felt spoilt, Thank You.

Loved how secluded it was, felt like a retreat. Facilities were clean, staff were so friendly, loved all the fire places and how cosy it felt. The ease of having payments charged to the villa rather than paying each time you order something just made the experience even better. We will definitely be back, loved every minute!

Lovely location, very tranquil and private. Lots of space from neighbors and other guests but also close enough to Warkworth / Matakana for things to do.
Fairly dated in the room. Bath jets didn’t work, didn’t have room cleaned for second night.

The location is great to escape for a one night and one and half hour drive from Auckland South. Very close to Matakana Village for one day travel. Our villa is clean and had all the amenities that we need.
The TV was missing, so we weren’t able to enjoy watching Netflix and relaxing. Additionally, the fireplace wasn’t working we requested for it to be fixed, but no one came. The mattress was also quite uncomfortable.

Lovely accomodation in beautiful, peacefully remote setting. Villas have great privacy and views. Very comfy bed and the breakfasts were delicious! Second time we have stayed and I’m sure we will return as we love it here. Staff are wonderful too.
Only suggestion is that unit 15’s bathroom (although lovely and spacious) may need some attention. There was a slight damp/mould smell coming from the wooden vanity. Other than that, we had a wonderful stay even in a cyclone!

Loved, loved, loved the apartment - the staff were fantastic and couldn’t do enough to make the stay fantastic. We arrived late and asked for some cheese and wine to be left for us it was fantastic. Dinner was delicious and we were sorry to leave.
The road up there in the dark was tricky but take your time and it’s fine.

The room wasn’t as nice as the pictures, old decor and mis-matched furniture that was a bit odd for example. The shower and bath were needlessly complicated to use. The plug for the bath didn’t work and leaked water out. The spa jets on the bath didn’t work. We enjoyed the breakfast and the pool facilities. The grounds were very tidy.
