The view and proximity is absolutely outstanding. We couldn't have wished for a better position. It was perfect for our 3 night stay. There is a river right outside the hotel which was lovely. Breakfast was healthy and filling and served quickly by friendly, welcoming staff. The bed was really comfy and balcony was lovely and cool at night time. The view is what made this our top choice and the hotel has a lot of potential.
No A/C or fan in the room made it uncomfortably hot at night time even with the balcony door open. Shower was freezing cold with generally around 2 minutes of warm water a day. Curtains were filthy, they really need replaced or at least washed. Only 1 socket with an extension plug that we didn't feel comfortable using. We only seen the staff at breakfast. There was no one around at any other time of day or night. We didn't even get to say goodbye when checking out. For the price and position these things wouldn't put me off staying again but it could do with a bit of an update and the addition of a fan in the room would have made it much more comfortable.

The location to the town centre and castle was great.
The room needed a lot of fixing. We didn't get the room we had booked and had no staff available to talk too about these issues.
