Just what we needed

Location was great just what we have looking for. Accomodation was good fit for 3 of us with extra space.

Biger TV, but nothing of big importance as we have spent most of the time exploring nearby cities of Brussels, Bruges and Gent

Connect with nature !

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely little cottage nestled in the heart of the forest. The surroundings are incredibly peaceful — it feels very private and secluded, even though there are a few houses nearby. The cottage itself is small but has everything you need for a comfortable stay. One of our favourite parts was enjoying morning coffee on the terrace, listening to the sounds of nature. There are beautiful bike rides and scenic walks right from the doorstep, which made exploring the area really enjoyable. We would definitely book again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet retreat in nature!

It would be hard to find if arriving in the night. Very secluded. But otherwise all perfect !!!

Loved our stay but wish they could have been honest and told us there was a charge for dogs upfront.

We loved Rainbow Lodge. A delightful place in beautiful setting. It had everything we needed, was comfortable and the dogs loved the garden, which was fully enclosed.

We were not impressed to receive an email after we had left asking us to leave money at the lodge for payment for the dogs. When we booked it we stated we had 2 dogs and were never informed that we would have to pay extra for them.

Almost perfect stay

Location is secluded and perfect - easy to find. Nice enclosed plot with little driveway and garden. Even pets would be very very happy. The house is very well equipped for its size - utensils, glassware etc. Good relaxing experience with a family of 4. Close to city Bruges.

The water in shower did not recede fast enough, so the soapy, used water stays in your feet for a time more than you expect. The tiles seems to have cracks due to some floor issues but one can live with it. The small LCD screen is too small. Responses from the owner could be faster.

A remote well equipped holiday house with private garden

The accommodation was private, well equipped and clean, ideal for a quiet holiday. Even with a couple of small issues which we experienced; with improvement we would recommend the property to others. The owner responded to our phone call for assistance.

Unfortunately, we arrived on a public holiday and nearly everywhere was closed, after an 8hr car journey we had to travel another 12km to find somewhere to have dinner, If the owner had advised us before our arrival this would have helped. The main issue as seasoned travellers we find is poor internet everywhere, seems a major problem in the EU. Guests need clear instructions especially arriving as it gets dark. I would recommend this property provides a guest information book, with a clearly written Wi-Fi password and instructions on the external lights, Poor Phone signal in this area. Could become a bit expensive especially if there are additional charges for services which should always be included in the rental cost.

Lovely cottage, lovely stay

We absolutely fell in love with this cosy cottage. It was clean, it was in the middle of nature and both cities and the beach were close. The facilities were great and the owner was nice and helpful.

A quiet vacation house

In a nice and quiet area. looks like a historical stone house with a very pretty garden. Good for vacation and bbq with family.

Appliances are a bit old but still function.

A house surrounded by trees

The house has great potential. The place is in a cute and very quiet location in the woods between Brugge and Ghent. Kitchen and a fireplace. Barbecue possibility outside. Covered open parking lot.

The house is very humid, musty smell and not ideal for people allergic to dust. It seems like a prefabricated home with external bricks. Soft mattress and plastic shower. The internal design is outdated.

How we found out stay

Firstly the location was perfect in the woods, quaint cottage with a secluded garden and a good seating area with BBQ The cottage itself looked nice .

The beds were so uncomfortable we just couldn’t sleep, the duvets and pillows were as flat as pancakes and useless ! The sofa bed had no bedding at all !! The bedrooms were damp so we lit the log fire to warm through the cottage . No locks on the bathroom or toilet doors . The towels were rough and threadbare ... totally not as expected . On arrival we were a bit early but couldn’t unload as still being cleaned etc so off we went to find a drink after the long drive. We were told not before 3pm could we get in . We arrived back just after 3pm to find the man still doing jobs . But we unloaded and were shown around. He still went about jobs outside . We had to vacate by 10am on the Monday, so we were up and about early having packed the night before and all using the one bathroom in turn . So at 9.15am we hadn’t expected to hear knocking whilst getting dressed, twice knocking loudly telling us to be out by 10am !!! Whilst hair was being dried in the bedroom , one of the men kept watching through the bedroom window making it very uncomfortable!! We were ready, packed and in our car before 10am !! Certainly never expected to be rushed like this as we weren’t going to be late as needed to be elsewhere by a certain time !! We left the place spotless & tidy including doing the rubbish bins . Whilst the area was wooded and lovely and cottage old style we found the bedding issues most unacceptable so won’t be returning to this corsage sorry !

Veel achterstallig onderhoud. Deur die niet sluit, doorgezakt matras in de slaapkamer. Lampjes in badkamer en kamer kapot. Geen zeep in de douche, geen slot op het toilet.

Petite maison dans les bois avec un environnement agréable. Comme on est venu pour le réveillon de Noël les propriétaires avaient installés un petit sapin dans la cuisine Sympathique attention

Gemütliches Häusschen

Das Häusschen ist sehr urig und liegt wunderschön in einem kleinen Wald. Die Einrichtung für ein verlängertes Wochenende ist ausreichend: Die Küche ist vollständig eingerichtet, es gibt funktionierendes Internet und genügend Handtücher. Alles fühlt sich sehr gemütlich an und wir haben uns wohl gefühlt.

Die Kommunikation mit den Vermietern war etwas zäh (aber immer freundlich). Eigentlich wussten wir bis zur Ankunft nicht, dass der Schlüssel einfach zu finden sei. Wir hatten bei Buchung angegeben, dass wir unseren Hund mitbringen. Erst um 21 Uhr am Vorabend der Abreise wurde gefragt, ob wir ihn tatsächlich dabei hatten und es wurde dann vor der Abreise mitgeteilt, dass es 10 € pro Nacht Gebühren kostet. Das Geld sollten wir bar auf den Tisch legen. Das hätte direkt bei der Buchung kommuniziert werden sollen....

Schönes Ferienhaus im Wald zwischen Brügge und Gent

Gemütliches Häuschen im Wald, es ist sehr ruhig dort, man hört nichts, wir konnten dort sehr gut schlafen. In der Küche Geschirr, Töpfe alles vorhanden, Pluspunkt mit Waschmaschine und Trockner. Das Häuschen liegt genau zwischen Brügge und Gent, es eignet sich gut für Sight Seeing in beide Städte. Auch zur belgischen Nordseeküste ist es nicht mehr weit. Schöner großer Garten. Carport für das Auto ebenso vorhanden. Auch der Kamin im Wohnzimmer war für die kommenden Herbstabende sehr gemütlich. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist ansonsten echt gut, ich würde es auf jeden Fall wieder buchen.

Dass Fahrräder vorhanden sind, ist positiv, jedoch hat eins einen platten Reifen, wir haben es mit der Luftpumpe versucht aufzupumpen, das hat nicht funktioniert. Dort sollte der Schlauch mal ausgewechselt werden. Ebenso fehlten Glühbirnen in einigen Lampen, auch dort müsste man nur mal neue kaufen und neu eindrehen. Bei uns stand den einen Morgen dann der Elektriker vor der Tür, die Vermieter hatten uns den Abend vorher erst spät gefragt. Verstehe ich nicht, warum der nicht an unserem Abreisetag kommen konnte. Der Kontakt mit den Vermietern war sehr spärlich, kannten wir so gar nicht und war für uns auch neu, aber wenn es von denen so gewünscht ist, akzeptiere ich es. Trotz allem waren es nur kleine Mängel und Vorkommnisse.

Un séjour pittoresque en pleine nature

Le logement est en plein campagne, c'est très calme. Proximité de sentiers de balades à pied ou à vélo. Les lits sont très confortables. Le logement est de bonne taille. Il y a des moustiquaires à quasi toutes les fenêtres. Mobilier extérieur pour profiter en cas de beau temps, ce qui était notre cas.

Le réfrigérateur ne marchait quasiment pas, nous avons été obligé de conserver certains aliments au congélateur. Il y a de nombreux carrelages déchaussés et fendus dans lesquels on s'accroche et cela peut être dangereux. J'avais emmené mon chat pour ce séjour en famille et il a été facturé en supplément à raison de 10€/nuit. Il aurait été sympa de faire un geste étant donné les problèmes rencontrés avec le réfrigérateur qui n'ont pas été solutionnés. Le logement est relativement bien équipé mais certains ustensiles auraient besoin d'être changés comme les ciseaux qui ne coupent plus par exemple. Le four est en réalité un micro-onde combiné donc de plus petite taille qu'un four classique, il faut donc adapter le menu en fonction. Le manque de clarté dans la maison en raison des très nombreux arbres sur la propriété. Le soleil était fort caché du coup.

Gezellig en knus huisje

Het was een heel charmant huisje, omgeven door groen. Een goede keuken, lekkere bank en een een eettafel met prima stoelen. Je had er privacy. Er waren wel andere huisjes in de buurt (geen vakantiepark) maar niemand keek je tuin in. Er zat een overkapping met een tuintafel en stoelen bij. Je had je eigen oprit en overdekte parkeerplaats. Het huisje was charmant, schoon en gezellig. Ik heb het huisje een 10 gegeven ondanks een paar minpuntjes. Ik vond namelijk dat het huisje een wat lagere score had waardoor ik vooraf twijfelde om te boeken. Maar dit huisje verdient zeker een gemiddelde van boven de 9. De bedden waren wat zacht maar dat was ook het enige minpuntje. Er zat hier en daar een scheur in de vloer door verzakking maar dit was niet hinderlijk. Het huisje was erg schoon en gezellig.

Haus in optimaler Lage für einen Besuch der Städte Brügge und Gent und Umgebung

Die Lage im Wald war super; dadurch wunderbar ruhig. Eingezäuntes Grundstück. Super für Hundebesitzer. Ausreichend Geschirr etc. Haus liegt in Ursel genau zwischen Brügge und Gent. Fahrzeit jeweils 20 Minuten. Top Lage, um sich die beiden Städte anzusehen oder Ausflüge ans Meer zu unternehmen. WC in separatem Raum.

Keine Heizung im WC. Der Spülknopf bzw. die Toilettenspülung ist abgebrochen. Müsste auf jeden Fall repariert werden, falls in der Zwischenzeit nicht geschehen. Die beiden Einzelbetten im 2. Schlafzimmer sind leider eine Katastrophe; sorry, hierauf kann man nicht schlafen. Zum Mietpreis kamen pro Tag nochmal 10 Euro für unseren Hund dazu; finde ich zu viel!
