If you want to see Aletsch glacier amd stay overnight, choose here.

What better location can you find if you want to hike around Aletsch Arena and ride the cable cars and gondolas to the glacier viewing points. The breakfast was good. The room was the best room of all the 3 hotels I stayed at in Switzerland and I set myself a maximum budget of 90 CHF for a single room. It had its own toilet amd shower.

Good basic location to go hiking in the Aletsch glacier area.

Quick to reach from the valley. Good breakfast and helpful friendly staff.

A bit basic rooms but totally ok for the price. Quiet in general but loud cowbells under the windows in the early morning. To be expected though and atmospheric, I didn’t mind it. One point more to do with booking.com app: I payed more at the end than the app has shown because the app hadn’t done the payment (maybe my fault as I didn’t realise I had to do another click at the bottom once our stay started. Assumed that the booking was done. Then I had to pay with card at the checkout and it was about €40 more with the exchange rate.

Good

Location was excellent, literally just next to the cable car station which was around the corner from the train station in the valley. Staff were helpful and accommodating. There was no kettle in the room but one was provided immediately upon request. The new staff (just second day on the job) helped us carry our big luggage up two flights of stairs!

True Alpine-Lodge!

Located right next to the exit of cable car station, Alpinelodge Kuhboden is a perfect stay one can think of, especially for hikes around Eggishorn. The check in was smooth and the staff is very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The room is super cozy and ideal. The breakfast spread is vast and luxurious. It was delicious. We also had a Vegetable burger, French fries and coke for lunch and the food was tasty. I would recommend taking the cable car up to Eggishorn (one way) and then walk back down (1 hour). Thanks to Alpinelodge for making our trip special and I would definitely recommend the stay to others without a doubt. Round-trip of cable car from Fiesh to Fiesheralp is included in the booking and that is a great deal in itself.

Spacious room with comfortable beds. Good breakfast, possibility to eat it from a terrace with gorgeous view on the mountains. Very kind and helpful staff!

Comfortable stay at the top of a mountain

I had a clean and comfortable room, great after a day of hiking. Staff were friendly and helpful. Very good breakfast selection. Being on top of the gondola station means great views, which was one of my main reasons for choosing this hotel.

Note that dinner is not available here but there are several options around the little village. It’s not really a village but more a cluster of hotels and chalets so some people may find this a little inconvenient. For me, it was fine.

Exceptional

The people working there are really nice. I've never been in a hotel more practical than this to go skiing, with the slopes right in front of the hotel entry. Highly recommended.

It was geat!

The hotel staff were very friendly and accomodating. We stayed for one night but were able to ski the entire area both days as we arrived and departed in skiing gear with layers removed. This was due to the hotel being happy to allow us to store our minimal other baggage prior to checkin and after checkout. Thanks.

Not really a dislike, but be warned that the hotel doesn't offer evening meals. For these there are two nearby hotels that do. Otherwise it's an infeasible long walk to Bettmeralp for a livelier evening and more choices.

Really closed to the resort lift and convenient to leave luggage then go skiing.

Staff is enthusiasm but English should be improved. Also there is no water boiler in the room，so drinking tea is not possible

Cheap but neat place for hiking or skiing

Friendlly and helpful staff. Hotel is next door to the gondola station. Dining hall's terrace has superb view and sunshine till late evening. Room was neat and clean, enough packing space for longer stay.

My room was facing the village, so no view. Next time should opt for a room facing the valley.

Amazing stay close to the stars and next to the biggest glacier in the Alps

It's my third time here and it has been always perfect. You leave the car/train behind you in the village below and embark on a trip with the - included in the price - cable-car. You spend the night at 2200m if altitude (how often can you do this in Europe?) and the stars at night or the sunrise are truly spectacular. This experience is made perfect by the staff and by the accommodation itself (clean rooms with new-smelling wooden furniture) and by the tasty breakfast with a good selection of different foods. Various hikes are available and you will be (literally) breathless at the sight of the biggest glacier in the Alps.
