Villa Martha

location is on the outskirts of the centre of town, beautifully located near a walking-distance bay for secluded early morning swims and also walking distance to the old harbor with plenty of restaurants to choose from. it gave us a different Spetses experience. they serve a nice breakfast and pool-side salad/sandwich through the day. courteous, clean, well located, tranquil garden.

I would like to start with the pool which was just perfect for 4 nights, everyday going and relaxing during the hottest hours of the day. There was also a beautiful view from the balcony! The stuff was always really friendly, including the cleaning stuff as the rooms were always cleaned and the members always polite and respectful. The breakfast was delicious and healthy every morning!

Not to sound like a complain, but the pool hours could have been more flexible as some people love to go to the pool until 10PM at least. But then again, it’s understandable, maybe there’s a reason for the fixed hours as it needs to be cleaned and maintained for every day usage.

The owner, Mr Dimitris is an exceptional man, with a rich personality and a fascinating conversation, knowledgable about the history of Spetses and Greece in general. The location is great, close to wonderful beaches and interesting quiet nature paths while being close enought to the Old Harbour. The garden is very well kept, with beautiful trees, flowers, green vegetation and wonderful singing birds. Nice , old stone walls and nice shadow. The home made Greek yogourt bought from a family farm was delicious.

the grounds were gorgeous, they are definitely the most appealing part of the experience. the bar is very nice as well and the staff are very friendly and accommodating.

the bed was seriously uncomfortable. it’s two twin beds pushed together and hospital like blankets. not necessarily the hotel’s fault but all we could hear all day and night was children crying and at some points toddlers were out on OUR private balcony playing. overall very little sleep and privacy.
