The mixed gender pool was a welcome treat. The indoor onsen provided a nice view of Lake Akan. We were fortunate to stay in the Shangrila wing and had a beautiful view of the lake. There was a wide selection of dishes at the buffet.
The parking is separate from the hotel. That made it inconvenient to leave things in the car. A shuttle service is provided during check in and check out to get to your car. Dinner and breakfast hours can be crowded.

Buffet dining options were exceptional (if a bit overwhelming with too much choice). Beds were very comfortable and the lake views exceptional. Fantastic onsens too.
The wifi wasn't great on our floor but phone signal was good.

The mixed bath on the roof was the absolute highlight to this hotel. The location was also nice to explore Akan.
We stayed in a lake view room which had a beautiful view out the window.
I found the front desk staff very unfriendly and unwilling to give information. They made me feel really unwelcome. (The snack bar attendant however was very kind and sweet to me and my family so thank you!)
Facilities are extremely dated. We needed a high chair for our baby and all of them were pretty dirty with layers of dust, grease and grime all on the backside of all of them.
The breakfast had many options but nothing was really flavorful.
