Situated at the north west section near Flathead Lake, Somers is a historical company town with a commemorative locomotive, museum and Rails to Trails walking trail. The Cottage, located off Hwy 93, provides a clean, safe and comfortable setting at the foot of a cliff with an active wildlife game trail behind the property. It is ideally located to provide easy access to the most popular places in northwest Montana in the Flathead Valley while offering the benefits of rural surroundings. The Cottage offers a fully equipped kitchen and dining area with amenities, HD SMART TV and wifi (wifi available May 1st thru Sept. 30th), and games. The bedroom has one queen bed and reading/reflection area. The bathroom provides amenities with shower only. This property is not suitable for children under 12. Absolutely no open flame, no smoking, vaping and no pets on or in the premises. Violators will be required to leave the premises immediately.
After settling in, leave your car at The Cottage and walk cross the highway and to "downtown" Somers and enjoy a meal at Somers Bay Café and learn about the the history of this Company Town. Somers Mansion, a 120 year old newly renovated building holding special events is just up the hill from the Cafe. Visit the historic steam train at the new pavilion and take a walk along the Great Northern Rails-to-Trails Path. Across the road is the post office and Dell's bar & eatery. Then, walk to Flathead Lake and enjoy the beach and swimming area, walking path along the Lake, picnic tables, kayak rentals and boat landing. Five miles to the south is the town of Lakeside, home of Blacktail Ski Mountain, the Tamarack Brewing Company/Restaurant, Harbor Grill, bars, grocery store, watercraft rental and public beach. Head north to downtown Kalispell where you will find historic sites, Conrad Mansion Museum & Hockaday Museum of Art, music at Depot Park, restaurants, quaint store fronts. Foys Lake offers boat ramp and Lonepine State Park offering 7.5 miles of hiking trails, mountain biking, snow shoeing, cross country skiing as well as breathtaking views of Flathead Valley, Nine miles to the east is Bigfork, home to the popular Bigfork Summer Playhouse, art galleries, gift shops and restaurants. Glacier Park and Big Mountain Ski Resort in Whitefish are a scenic 45 minute drive and Glacier International Airport in Kalispell is approximately 28 minutes from The Cottage.
