Kaštel Ečka

This hotel is seriously underrated - in my opinion, it deserves a rating closer to 9.5! It's no 9.0) 1) Beautiful, well-maintained grounds that are perfect for walking and relaxing. 2) A gorgeous, warm swimming pool. 3) Extremely kind and welcoming staff. 4) A great restaurant with a huge selection of absolutely delicious ice cream. 5) A lovely restaurant terrace right next to the fountain. 6) Very clean and comfortable rooms (good size). 7) If you're looking for a bit of variety, there are also a couple of great restaurants just an 8-minute drive away. 8)The hotel has so much character and soul. It feels authentic rather than like another generic, soulless chain hotel. 9) And all of this is just an hour's drive from Belgrade. That's amazing!! Overall, we absolutely loved our stay and would happily come back again!

The only downside was the ventilation and air conditioning in one of the buildings. On our first night, we stayed in a room that had almost no fresh air. Unfortunately, all the other rooms were fully booked, so we couldn't switch that night. We had to keep the portable air conditioner running at full power just to make the room comfortable enough to breathe in. Unfortunately, it was very noisy, so getting a good night's sleep was almost impossible. Thankfully, on our second night the staff managed to move us to a room in another building, and the difference was like night and day. The room had excellent ventilation, stayed pleasantly cool even without the air conditioner, and when we did turn it on, it was almost completely silent. A huge thank you to the staff for finding another room for us. We had a wonderful second night 😊 So, if you're traveling with a child or someone who is sensitive to noise (like me), I'd recommend checking which room or building you're booking in advance)

The place is isolated the hotel is in a house that used to be a castle and the park is huge. Unfortunately only a smaller part of the terrain is used as a park, it is very nice, but much more space could be used for guests. Isolation from the outside world is verry good, silence during the night is really relaxing and the atmosphere in the hotel is good. We felt the history of the place while walking in the building and sitting in the dining room or in the restaurant. Service is mostly good. Most of the people are very friendly and professional. The place is clean. The bed is very comfortable.

The restaurant could make some effort to be excellent. The restaurant manager Daniela made an effort when we complained and she did everything in her domain to answer our complains. We were in an suite, and it looks smaller then in the images. The bathroom had a jacuzzi and we used it as a shower. Not very clear how to operate it, even if they provided us an instruction manual. The place is ideal to ride a bicycle but they don't provide any way to rent one.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly and always helpful, which made us feel welcome from the start. The room was clean, well-kept, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The outdoor area was a highlight, perfect for families like ours. Overall, it was a lovely place that we’d be happy to return to.

While we enjoyed our stay, there were a few things that could be improved. The halls are beautiful, but unfortunately, we noticed quite a lot of spider webs. The food was decent, but during the busiest breakfast time, the buffet often ran empty, and it took a long time to be refilled. Also, it was a shame that breakfast was not allowed to be eaten outside. Early in the morning is the freshest time of the day, so it felt like a missed opportunity to enjoy the lovely outdoor area.

Very poor WiFi. Sewage stinks.
