Orchards House - The Hidden Tribe

The rooms and view were lovely, and the situation very quiet. The food was also good (but see below).

One could put up with the difficult, dirty and rather dangerous access path, on which no-one had ever spent anything to improve it; but the entirely idiotic way of ordering food by telephone menu was unacceptable. You could never ask any questions; and the bad service made matters worse. For instance, an 8 a.m. breakfast order of cornflakes, scrambled egg, toast and coffee took one hour and ten minutes to arrive, and the the OMELETTE came 20 minutes before the cornflakes.... Rather a pity.

Amazing stay with a great atmosphere and very friendly staff. The place is peaceful, and perfect for meeting fellow travelers. Great location and a really nice vibe overall. Would definitely stay here again!

I had a great stay here. The staff were very friendly and always happy to help, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the food was delicious. The location is peaceful with beautiful green mountain views, there’s free parking for motorbikes, and it’s easy to order food or get anything you need, making it a very convenient place to stay.

The bed was comfortable. The wifi was excellent. The shower had good water pressure and lots of hot water.

The hike from the road to the place is on an uneven and rather challenging path. A difficult 200 metres or so. This is not a place for anyone with mobility challenges. We were surprised this was not mentioned in the property description. Smoking is allowed in the garden and outside the rooms. This made sitting outside very unpleasant. Communication with the property manager was a hassle. Responses to our texts and calls took hours, if we got a response at all Ordering food was unnecessarily complicated by using a qr code... especially if breakfast is included in your booking. We waited almost an hour for our breakfast both mornings of our stay.
