Welcome to the little house by the Lake, a single family home located in Kennydale, Washington. Our home sits on Lake Washington in a gated private enclave of four homes. The house is 800 square feet and includes a queen bed in the loft, (up one flight of stairs) a fold out couch on the main level, a full kitchen, sitting area and bathroom. We also have a washer/dryer combo for your convenience. Relax on the deck and watch the wildlife and a resident eagle. A gas BBQ is available for your use.

We absolutely loved our stay at the little house! The neighborhood was extremely quiet and seeing all the wildlife around the house was so fun. There’s a resident bunny that greeted us daily. Communication from the owners was also great! We would definitely stay here again!

We spent 4 nights at this cabin and it was perfect for our needs. The owners were incredibly welcoming and helped us whenever we had questions. Check-in process was easy, the cabin was very clean, and had everything we needed to cook and make meals during our stay. Would definitely stay here again.

The house was very nice and convenient. Enjoyed the balcony bedroom. All the amenities were great. Particularly enjoyed the blackberry bushes and the delicious blackberries. The alligator living under the porch was a little scary! Haha! It was a wooden carving. Would have appreciated a little better idea of how to locate the key to access the house. We arrived late at night and the key lockbox was not easy to find from our perspective or the house location because of the house address. It does not match numerically with the other residences. Overall, we’re very satisfied with the location and stay and accommodations.

The little house was AMAZING!! The space is perfect, GREAT view and quiet. Easy access to shops in Renton, and close enough to the city that it wasn’t a burden to see all the touristy stuff. Bald eagles across the lake DAILY. What a great stay! We can’t wait to come back! Everything was perfect!

We really enjoyed this cute little house. It was clean nice we had coffee all sorts of teas and cold drinks in the fridge. We can definitely tell you to come and stay here. The drive to downtown Seattle was good around 30 minutes and at night 20 minutes. It was also very secure so we could leave our bikes without problems.

We enjoyed our time in the little lake cottage. It is very private even though it is amongst some larger homes. We felt very safe as it was in a small gated part of the neighborhood. There is one parking spot provided right next to the cottage. It is quite clean and well stocked with all necessities and includes a small washer/dryer combo unit and window a/c units both upstairs and downstairs. The private dock is a nice place to take in the sunsets and watch the wildlife. There is easy access to a walking path and a nice beach park within a quarter mile. The owner is quick to respond to any questions and very helpful. We stayed 4 weeks and got to know our way around the area pretty well. There are many options for experiencing the various cities and nature areas close by and having the cottage as our home base was perfect. We definitely would stay here again.

A little house on the lake was the perfect getaway that me and my wife needed. Owners were very accommodating. The house was very clean. We spent our afternoons on the porch taking in the breathtaking views of Lake Washington. We can’t wait to come back.

The little house is perfect. We enjoyed the beautiful view of the lake and watching the resident eagles. Mary was very helpful answering any questions we had. House is equipped with everything you'd need and very clean! Would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing stay. My one suggestion is if you want to sleep later than dawn you'll need to have a sleep mask. The great skylights bring in alot of light.

I loved this property location. Quiet and right on the lake. Use of the boat launch and dock meant hours of great paddleboarding and eagle watching! Also the running-bike trail is super close by ! Just a great place with all the amenities for a lake getaway!

Lovely peaceful stay, a rural feeling haven in a convenient urban area. Sweet, simple and well outfitted. We loved sitting on the porch listening to the lapping water of the lake, the rain on the roof, and the amazing birdsong. It was a wonderful, restful and rejuvenating weekend.

A great lake getaway

A great lake getaway

This property was a fantastic spot for a quick getaway. Excellent location on the lake & the nearby walking/cycling trail. We loved watching the wildlife from the deck: eagles, turtles, herons, bunnies, and more. It was very quiet and peaceful. We had easy access to float in the water from the boat ramp right there. The place was well stocked. Lots of pots and pans. Toiletries. Linens for the bath & the beach. And nice touches like binoculars to watch the wildlife or an extension cord to make it easier to plug in electronics to charge. We were very grateful that the owner was well prepared for wildfire season: the two air conditioners and filter worked great during the heat and smoke. We loved that when it cooled off after sunset, we could open the front and rear doors to get a fantastic cross breeze. We did need to keep the A/C running in order to cool the loft (one window is blocked by the A/C, so you can't get much of a cross breeze going up there). We stayed in several hotels during this trip which didn't have such good ventilation & cooling! There also are shades on the front deck and tilt wood blinds in the windows, which help keep the little house cool. One thing we hadn't noted: the loft bedroom gets very bright very early. Bring eye masks if you want to sleep past sunrise. There are no blinds over the magnificent skylights. The directions were great. Parking was easy. We texted a bit with the owner. Unfortunately, early communication with the host was plagued by VRBO issues. I sent a long email introduction which never reached her, which almost caused us to lose the reservation. Make sure you phone if you don't hear back! This property is worth it.
