Properly wonderful hosts operate a spectacular guest house in Schwarzwald

What isn't to like! We arrived at the property after a torrid days riding through nothing but torrential rain to arrive in what I can only describe as a truly remote location. There was no phone reception, and the property was up in the hills midway through the black forest. But what a place! I adore this kind of location, so it was right up my street. There were limited localised facilities, but we managed. The hosts of the property came out and met us as we arrived, and pointed us to some much needed sheltered parking for the motorcycles. They showed us around the house and organised drying racks for all of our gear. They were so lovely and welcoming. We then mentioned that we hadn't eaten (bearing in mind it was after 8pm on a early weekday) and the guest offered us to get changed and then all drive to the local restaurant in her car! And that she would pick us up upon our return. What a thoughtful and selfless pair these were, so kind to offer their time to their guests. We accepted the offer to be driven down the hill, but decided we would be happy to walk back as it was around 1Km and the weather had cleared somewhat. When we got the the restaurant, they had stopped serving over an hour ago, but the host spoke with the staff and they did a main dish for each of us which was so thoughtful. The property was fabulous; it was a smallholding with goats and with a granny annexe on the back of the main house. It was spacious and comfortable, with excellent facilities. The hosts were so kind and we were grateful to have found this place, especially after such a dire day of riding. I would return in a heartbeat.

Exceptional

Amazing, helpful and friendly owners. Our kids have such a great time feeding the goats and playing with the dog Amy!! Fantastic kitchen with Office, big bedrooms, comfortable beds. Wonderful terrace for breakfast, dinner with very nice sights of the mountains and nature. Our kids were given a ride in the owners tractor!! Thank you for being such nivel hosts!

My only but would be that although the bathroom was big and clean, it did not have sunlight, It was a bit dark. Road a bit narrow and steep to get to the farm.

Relax and enjoy some peace in comfort.

The hosts were kind and got all the proper Covid checks in place. The farm setting was comfortable. We brought enough groceries for a 3 day stay and the additional supplies (toilet paper, dish washing soap, etc.) were well-appointed. The spaces were good sizes and the kitchen had a good supply of dishes and room for our family of five. There is a spa/wellness center close which we did not visit due to covid but it looked like a nice area to visit, as well.

There is pretty much no internet so even our downloaded movies wouldn't play. We knew it from the profile but thought we could either use a HotSpot or downloads but alas it didn't work. It was fine and probably better but it is something to note. The drive to the location is a narrow road with pullouts so the timing of trips or taking things with you if you don't enjoy this is recommended. We did enjoy the open air and were grateful for this space to relax.

Heerlijk!

De rust en ruimte in en om het huis, Frau Dieterle haar gastvrijheid. Alles keurig op orde, heel veel handdoeken, keukendoeken, beddengoed! Echt fantastisch Helaas was de tuin niet (meer) afgeloten waardoor onze honden aangelijnd moesten in de tuin, desalniettemin een heerlijke tijd gehad.

In de avond werd het water niet zo heel warm, douchen kan je beter in de ochtend doen.
