Wonderful, we will definitely be joining the ‘repeat offenders’ club and staying again!

Sam gave us a friendly, warm welcome and made us feel immediately relaxed. Despite being their first season, hosting felt like something they must have been doing for a lot longer. The breakfast was delicious, with a veggie option for me, the granola was soo good, Sam’s local knowledge and recommendations were great, the perfect mix of attentive hosts, giving you the desired space and time to relax.

Perfect setting.

Everything about the hotel was perfect. Not large, more of a large BnB vibe. The room was clean and comfortable and the hosts were friendly and helpful. The location was great with wonderful views overlooking the sea. The lounge and bar were cosy and great for a quiet sit and read. Hotel is up the hills above the village. Lovely walk down hill to the village centre(bit of a hike going back as uphill).

The only down side was lack of parking. If you missed out on a spot dedicated to the hotel you had to park around the corner. People need to be aware the hills can be quite steep. Not really a dislike just a statement of fact and certainly wouldn’t stop me from staying there again.

A really lovely hotel

Enjoyed a two night mini break at the Mevagissey Bay hotel with my wife. Everything about the hotel was perfect. We ate in the first night and the meal was lovely, as was the breakfast both days. The view from the lounge and dining rooms are amazing. The owners really do go out of their way to make you feel welcome and enjoy your stay. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Mevagissey and the area.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, thanks to the owners , to a great extent.

The hotel had been run by the present owners since February 2025. Since then, they have undertaken significant improvements - freshly painted walls and paintwork, new mattresses and carpets. Sam and Roy are friendly and welcoming and provide excellent service at front of house, dining area and bar. The sea view from the bar is stunning - uninterrupted as its location is on the road to Portmellon from Mevagissey. As we paid the lowest rate, our room was not big but was very comfortable and contained everything we needed.

To access the hotel, it’s necessary to drive through the very narrow streets of Mevagissey or take the longer route through Portmellon. Advice about the route is given via email beforehand.

A lovely warm welcome from Sam x Roy. A relaxing place to be. Wonderful view from sitting room. Very pleasant room with Comfortable bed. Excellent food including fish pie and delicious crab soup with garlic bread with friendly service Good choice of breakfasts. Loved avocado with poached egg on toast.Even gluten free batter for my husband to enjoy fish x chips!!

Fabulous stay at an exceptional hotel.

From arrival to departure, we were provided with exceptional service. Very clean and comfortable hotel with amazing views. We had some evening basket food and have to say cooked exceptionally well. Breakfast was by far the best we have tasted.

Hidden gem with a fabulous view

This hotel made our trip from Nottingham so worth it. When we arrived the view was breathtaking, then a very warm welcome from owner Sam who along with her head chef hubby Roy create a wonderful vibe that made us feel like we were friends rather than gusts. Nothing was too much trouble. We had dinner here with a superb choice of food and afternoon tea or a cheeky g&t on the terrace is a must to relax to soak up the atmosphere. There is a 5 minute walk down a hill into the town which is easily done with lots of boutique shops cafes restaurants all serving excellent food. Everyone was so friendly I felt like a local at times! Mevagissey is a small harbour that just keeps on giving …forget St Ives come here. We were sad to leave …would love to return …would def recommend 😁

Perfect stay in MBH

We booked for 5 days a room with seaview. All was perfect for us! The bar inside is also a good way for conviviality with guest and owners of the hotel who are very pleasant people. I really recommand this hotel.

Nothing to add except perhaps that…the boss could improve his French speaking😂😂😂, and I also encourage all our English friends to do the same😉

The best money I’ve spent in ages, worth every penny and more. You won’t be disappointed!

Everything. I travelled down with my mum for her 80th and stayed for two nights, we were absolutely blown away. We arrived at 9am on Thursday after a 5hr drive from Derby. The host, Sam was so friendly and immediately made us feel welcome. We stayed in room 1 and oh my, the room was beautiful and the view looked like a painting, just stunning! My mum even had a box of chocolates waiting in the room for her birthday gift, such a special touch. The bed was super comfy, we both slept so well both nights. The shower was lovely too. The breakfast was exquisite, a tasty full English with toast & tea. Sam and the staff were very attentive. We would sit outside on the decking area having a drink after a long day out walking & sightseeing and the view was just picturesque. Sam & her husband Roy would chat to us, it felt like we’d known them ages, they are so genuinely lovely. It really felt like a home from home hotel, they went above & beyond to help their guests, not just us. I can’t thank them enough for everything they did for us, for making us feel so welcome and for being the perfect hosts. We will definitely becoming back to stay!

Brilliant relaxing break

We had a brilliant stay at the MBH, Sam and Roy couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful.Breakfast was excellent , it had limited selection but was done to the highest of standards, far superior to any of the larger hotels we have stayed in. The newly started evening meals were exceptional, just a shame that they were for residents only as this would have been an excellent place to bring the family that we were visiting. Best meal I think we have ever had in all the times we have visited Cornwall. Staff/ owners made you feel welcome and gave the hotel a homely feel which made our break so much better Rooms were clean, comfortable and well equipped Our partial sea view was nice but the views from the bar and dining room were exceptional. We had a truly wonderful stay and will not hesitate to recommend this hotel and we will stay here the next time we visit family.

Our room and ensuite although clean and comfortable requires some minor maintenance. This has been scheduled for later in the year not enough to complain about but worth mentioning for an accurate review

A wonderful small hotel in a great location with superb views and close proximity to the town and with a great pub nearb

Great location with wonderful views. Clean, new and nicely furnished. Excellent lounge/bar area and breakfast room. Nice owners on site. A short walk to the town in one direction and down to the beach and The Rising Sun Hotel in the other. So all was really good.

We had a small room at the back but that is what I booked. A bigger room with a Seaview would make it a truly superb place to stay.

A truly welcoming, comfortable and rejuvenating stay.

Sam and Roy are the perfect hosts. They made us feel so welcome from the minute we arrived, and continued to do so for the duration of our stay. They took an active interest in our time in the town, and tended to our every need. The breakfast was fresh and delicious, the room was immaculate and the bar had a great selection of lovely drinks. We will absolutely be back to spend a few days here in the future.

Hotel view fabulous, decor/furnishings excellent/comfortable. Room great, had good garden view. Good choice for breakfast and food great quality/tasty. Owners very friendly and helpful. Loved the lounge with its great view and big comfy sofas, same with the dining room!

Not a dislike! En suite shower room a little bit dated and could do with a bit more storage - didn't have any negative effect on our stay though!

A very nice find in the best little Harbour Mevagissey

A warm welcome from the off. Sam greeted us as we arrived and showed us round. The hotel is lovely. Our room was comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was amazing. Fabulous home made granola!! And lots of choice of cooked food. Would definitely go back.

Lovely little hotel in a perfect location with delightful hosts

Location, location, location. What a view! Either from the balcony, or the room (get room one if you can!). Sam and Roy are delightful, friendly hosts. Small hotel but with good public space (bar, lounge, terrace, dining room). Parking onsite.

The walk back from town (but it got easier!). But it's only 10 minutes. Driving through Mevagissey (we went the long way round after our first experience).

An excellent friendly hotel in a great location

The location was amazing a short walk from the centre down a hill with wonderful views of the bay. Sam and Roy the new owners were very welcoming and made us very welcome. The patio area and small lounge were lovely to enjoy a drink. Breakfast was very good.

The bed was a little uncomfortable and the bathroom had very thin walls and we could hear the person in the next door room, however I know the owners are planning to upgrade some of the bathrooms in the winter
