The room was a good size - I had booked a twin room.
Large shower cubicle though issues with temp see below.
Location great.
The room was generally very tired and in need of some tlc.
It was adequately clean but-
There are no radiators in the room and the window does not seal shut so I was very cold in the night. There was a tall fan but I would have really appreciated some instructions or a welcome letter.
The bed was very saggy, with rips in the duvet cover, there is no headboard only a painted wall behind.
The shower heat dial was not working properly and had to be turned pretty much the opposite way to make it a decent temperature. The bathroom had a lovely large mirror but the extractor fan did not work so it steamed up making it not very useful. The toilet seat was scratched.
There was not very good soundproofing and I was woken by others several times.
There was a fridge but this was unplugged in the bottom of the wardrobe on arrival.
The booking listing has breakfast listed under food and drink and mentioned in many reviews. I was aware I had not booked for breakfast but I thought I'd be able to pay for this additionally being above a pub - but was very disappointed to learn not.

The room and en-suite were beautifully presented and overlooked the river. Although it's located outside of Gloucester, there is a bus stop just two minutes walk from the hotel. We didn't try walking as it was too muddy and wet. We found parking in the Gloucester car parks easy and reasonable.
We hadn't paid for breakfast but understood that it was available at £10 each. However, when we went down, we couldn't access the breakfast area and later found out that the restaurant wouldn't be open until 12pm. This wasn't made clear at the time of booking or when we arrived.
Although it's called The Mooring Post, there is no reference to it on the outside sign which says Lock Keepers.

Location, size of room. Great that it had a bath and sofa
Did not have a detachable shower head to wash my hair. Do not wash hair in shower as I don't like water on my face!

Short drive to town centre, free parking, warm room on arrival, and the staff were friendly - Ben in particular was very helpful.
Only that the bar closes early on a Saturday night.

The room exceeded our expectations. It's in a great location. The room was large, very clean and cosy. There was a huge bath and the bed was very comfortable. We slept really well. The restaurant below was great for an evening meal. We loved our visit.
A shower mat would have been useful.
A new plug is needed for the sink. Small things.

Location
Tv could not be tuned
Toilet seat broken
No plug for bath and when we asked why were told there was a risk of flooding downstairs

The view and room was very good.
No food after 4pm on sundays. Bit of a bummer as we arrived sunday at 5pm. Had to get a uber to town to eat and drink.

Location by a nice canal walk
Car Park is very dark and intimidating

Proximity to Gloucester, whilst away from the rush. On a good bus route. BP car charger in car park.
Lovely warm feeling, great staff, excellent food.
Our room very quirkily appealing.
Corner baths rather impractical, difficult to get in or out.
Carpets very marked, especially on staircase.

The mooring Is a lovely quite Place to stay. It was Comfortable and the staff were very friendly. Our Bathroom and bedroom were of a good size and both were clean and tidy. It was lovely that you could open the windows. We didn't eat there but the lunch and evening menu looked interesting and on both nights the restaurant was busy.
The Breakfast could have been a little better, There wasn't much choice. although the coffee was Good.
The Music from the ( I think) Kitchen area was too loud and was played after 11PM. I think it was their Clean up Music , the bass was very loud and kept us a wake it wasn't the Music that they played in the bar.

Lovely, clean bright room. Great shower. Nice and fresh.
Step out of the shower, over the edge of the bath, was a bit high.

Comfy rooms. They dealt with our early check-in request, which was really appreciated. Lovely bar downstairs. Great view of the docks. Handy location for wedding at Overbarn. Plenty of parking available on site. Great pint of Guinness and apple cake available in the bar.
Shower curtain in my room felt a little below the mark for the price of the room

Easy to access, food was great. Location ideal for getting into the city centre too
Small problem with the bath - the cold tap didn't turn on. Also the plug provided wasn't the correct size for the tub.
7.0 / 10.0
Nice location, large room, and the bar was a nice space.
Attention to detail on cleaning, towels and tea and coffee was not great. Room seemed dusty, maybe there had been a dog in the room? The meals were small and very expensive, a mushroom and halloumi burger with a small glass of wine was £20. Car park had a very narrow entrance. There was a restricted service on Sunday, no food on Monday. Correcting these would make this a good place to stay.

Great location
Stains on the shower curtain, mirror in the bathroom could do with an upgrade, mold on the bath sealant . The shower head in the ceiling really needs a deep clean

Location
Limited choice for breakfasts eg:- continental style breakfasts would have been nice rather than all cooked.
Though the food was beautifully cooked and presented.

Location was beautiful, bed was comfortable and we loved the bath
Carpets were stained, we couldn’t work the tv as no remote and although I sent multiple messages I got no response from the owner

Good location, pleasant surroundings and room. Bathroom decent. The carpets up the stairs and in the room could do with a carpet vac but room and bathroom very clean. Responsive host
Carpets - as above

The House Keeping staff did their best to accommodate an early arrival despite my request not being shared with them beforehand.
Parking was ample, location is good for a 25+ minute walk to the City Centre or a cheap Taxi ride.
Communication wasn't great but I do accept that I arrived early without receiving acknowledgement from the venue.
The venue wasn't open for food or drink, this wasn't made clear beforehand.
Having stayed here before, the decor has become tired but that was probably reflected in the price.
No coffee pods for the machine, just a couple of tea bags, lack of shower gel and soap was also a little disappointing.
Breakfast was not served (due to a kitchen malfunction) on the morning of my departure, only hot drinks.
Not convinced I'd stay here again which is a shame, my experience of '21 was nothing but positive.

In quiet road near river.
Rooms were spacious and clean sheets and good matresses/pillows.
Good hot shower
Nice short quiet walk along river.
Lovely Gloucester cathedral--do not miss!
It was very hot, but host gave us extra fans.
Quite a walk to town centre along busy road.
Host sent email with checkin instructions a bit late in the day, but luckily they were nearly ready to leave when we arrived.

Location was good for access into Gloucester and free parking.
Staff were friendly.
Quite noisy dual carriegeway nearby (hot night so had windows open! Speeding bikes very frequently).
It is a pub with rooms above, not 2 different buildings. No advance warning that the pub part of the hotel was not serving food past 4.30pm on the Sunday and that there would not be any breakfast on the Monday as the Lock Keeper Inn is not open on that day....! (We arrived early and they let us have our key early, luckily as all closed up after 6pm so would have had to come back to collect it for then)
Corner bath/shower is very high so hard to get in for those with reduced mobility.

It was a nice room, with sofa, and space, located next to the river.
It was a shame that despite the photos for the room showing a bath, that there was no plug. There was no response to the Booking.com messages. Unfortunately, we didn’t see the mobile contact number until we left.

Really lovely property, completed to a high standard in beautiful grounds.
I was travelling for work and whilst working in the evening, the wifi was fine.
I met the owners of the property, lovely, genuine people.
There are a couple of small chairs in the room which makes a nice change to watch tv from rather than it always having to be the bed which is usual when staying away
The property crept up on me as I was driving, so needed to drive off, turn round and come back - the road narrows at the point where the property is, however the gate is set back far enough from the road that you are able to pull in off the road safely to get out and open the gate (I didn't know this when I first approached so felt it was helpful to put in a review for others as it will make it so much easier for them!)

It’s a nice location overlooking the river and the room was sizeable, comfortable and clean… but
It was too noisy for us. It is near a main road and with the windows open we could hear the traffic from the road all night. The pub downstairs turned the music up load in the early evening. Fortunately we went out and the pub was closed when we got back. We didn’t ask them to turn it down but would have done if we’d stayed in.

The room was lovely and Brogan had read my message and accommodated me above and beyond. I had asked for opening windows and she had opened the windows ready, making the room cool .
The garden had gorgeous lights and a view of the canal. It was just a beautiful setting for a drink after the sun had gone down.
Breakfast at the bar below is expensive for what's on offer so chose to pack up and drive somewhere else .

Family is fantastic with the twin room in a separate room and the queen bed has a lounge which meant we could sit comfortably when the little ones went to sleep.

Nicely decorated and in a pretty area. Gloucester quays just down the road, which was great for food, drink and shopping.
Could do with being a little more careful with room preparation...only one cup for coffee when a couple had booked. I'm sure they would have given us another one had we asked though but we were too busy enjoying the area!

Clean tidy, easy access by code.
Noisy main road, thought breakfast was included turned out was not.
