The lady at reception was nice

I don’t eat dairy so I was expecting I could have some boiled eggs. The egg machine broke down and the chef was not around to cook some eggs. At dinner we were not offered any bread, when other customer were and when we asked for some bread we were given some slithers. The price of dinner was very expensive, especially without bread

Reception personnel were brilliant.

Dining experience was hideous. Waiter said we didn't have a reservation and had the embarrasment of taking him to reception to find out we did. The dining room was drab and the service very poor as the waiter was totally pre-occupied with serving a large touring group in the adjacent proper dining room. It was an unpleasant and costly mistake. As we were on holiday in France it was a regretable experience.

Room was quite small and very dark as the windows were small and it was easy to walk into the tv which was positioned at the end of the bed with not much walk space. Had to keep asking for milk .

This is a pleasant hotel on the outskirts of Auray set in pretty grounds with ample free parking. It is possible to walk into town within 10 to 15 minutes. The staff were welcoming and very friendly/helpful. The room was small but comfortable with a courtesy tray (no English tea or milk though) and a brightly lit bathroom with a good shower. There is also a lift and a small bar and an outside seating area. A sauna can be booked but we did not use it. The restaurant is open each night and the food was excellent. Breakfast is also served in the restaurant where there is ample choice of breads, pastries, cheeses, cold meats etc and a hot dish of eggs/bacon/sausage.

We were personally disappointed at the location of the hotel as it was remote from the town and situated in a residential area. Although the room was comfortable, it was decorated in dark browns which made it feel very gloomy and depressing, particularly as the room we were assigned did not catch the sunshine. The hotel bar is cosy but lacked atmosphere as, sadly, we were the only two who used it for pre-dinner drinks. Also, although the restaurant food could not be faulted, neither the daily menu nor the a la carte menu changed for the four days we were there. The morning staff were slow to replenish breakfast dishes and, for some reason, the "hot" dish for the eggs and bacon was never plugged in so the food was always cold or tepid.
