Welcome to our beautiful mountain home, The Shady Glenn, which has been welcoming guests of the Glenn family for many years. We hope you will enjoy it as much as all of its current owners have!
It is conveniently located only 19 miles away from the south entrance to Yosemite National Park, close to the famous Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias, one of the park’s main attractions. Yosemite' s south entrance is the closest to the world-famous Glacier Point. Beautiful Bass Lake, a water sports and boater’s paradise, is only 1 mile away. Fresno Yosemite International Airport, the closest major airport to Yosemite, is only 52 miles away.
The house is a true home-away-from-home that can accommodate up to eight guests with four bedrooms and three baths. It is situated on a park-like corner lot.
The wrap-around deck welcomes you to the main level, which features an open floor plan, an updated kitchen with granite countertops and new appliances, and an eating area with wrap-around bench seating. Your whole group will be able to enjoy meals together thanks to an extra pull-out leaf in the kitchen table. The kitchen already has everything you need to cook your own meals. For coffee lovers, we offer both a Keurig and a traditional coffee maker. The kitchen sink has a built-in water filter - no need for inconvenient water bottles! The house has central air conditioning and heating.
The main living area features a flat-screen Smart TV with a Firestick, so you can use your own Netflix or Hulu account to watch your favorite shows. Live TV with cable channels is also available. There are two bedrooms with queen beds and an updated bathroom with a granite countertop on the main floor as well.
Upstairs is the private master suite with a king bed, a gas fireplace with remote starter, flatscreen Smart TV with Firestick so you can use your own Netflix or Hulu account to watch your favorite shows, ceiling fan, and ensuite bath with a shower-tub. An upper-level deck is directly off the master bedroom.
The downstairs level is a second master suite with an ensuite bath, ceiling fan, a gas fireplace with remote starter, and a twin daybed and another twin pull-out trundle. This level is perfect for a kids’ gameroom - it has a Smart TV with Firestick and a Nintendo Wii with games. This level provides a perfect place for kids and teens to hangout while adults can enjoy the other parts of the house. The dual indoor living areas make the house the perfect fit for families and groups of adults.
The covered back deck features a BBQ, outdoor seating, and a picnic table big enough to comfortably seat your entire group. Barstools add to the seating capacity.

The Forks at Bass Lake, a popular lakeside restaurant and general store, is only a four minute drive from the house. The drive to Yosemite is only twenty-five minutes.

What an amazing property! We split our time between early mornings in Yosemite before it got hot and spent the warmer afternoons at the lake. This worked out great and is also a great way to beat the crowds in the park. We were in the park before 6am daily and generally left before 2 or 3pm. The owner was responsive to any questions (which there werent many). The only issue we had was connecting to TV, but considering we were wiped out from our day it wasnt an issue worth mentioning. I even grilled breakfast sausages on the deck one morning we didnt leave super early and enjoyed the morning air. Great place and will be back again one day.Thanks Dan and the rest of the guys!

Can't provide full context in under 1,500 characters per Vrbo imposed limit , but here's a quick rundown:
- Plenty of stairs: beware if traveling with disabled/elderly
- A/C system needs upgraded. The existing system is not able to adequately cool the home as a whole. The "secondary master suite" downstairs doesn't have vents at all, and no ceiling fan. It got very hot and stuffy. Thankfully there was a floor fan we plugged in the wall to help.
- The host, with no notice given at all, remotely manipulated the set temperature on the thermostat even though we never tried to set it below 70 per the owner's written rules.
- Only 5 washcloths provided for 7 people and 3 night stay. I sent message to host politely asking for more washcloths, and was told we were welcome to go buy some in Oakhurst, followed up with an additional remark conveying bewilderment that we dared to ask such a thing .
- We considered the house satisfactorily clean, but did find some hair and bugs in a couple of places. Definitely not 10/10 cleanliness as reported by pretty much all the other reviewers.
Everything else was okay. The best way to describe our overall opinion of this property is *overrated*. We just expected better from a property that had such unanimously glowing reviews on Vrbo, and we were particularly disappointed with the host’s behavior. It's hard to believe we're the only ones who've ever had a negative word to say about the property or its host.
