Zámecký Hotel Zlatý Orel

Great location and staff, who were friendly and low key. Room was large and very nicely furnished, beds super comfy. Everything totally clean, and quiet. AC worked really great, didn't need to use it much. Restaurant was closed with no explanation, but very nice cafe just around the corner. Extremely good breakfast onsite, however, with a very friendly girl who was preparing fresh coffee, etc. Easy walk to the town center, or river walk. TRANSPORT: Kind of a hike from the train station, but very limited taxi service was available, sometimes. Bolt claimed to work, but no drivers were ever found after 6 different attempts, and I use their paid service.

I was told at the front desk that breakfast was at 7am, checkout by 10am, and I confirmed the times to make sure I understood correctly so I could be exactly on time. However when I arrived at the breakfast area dressed and ready, the door was locked. Being a weekend, breakfast was at 8am. Just on weekends. Why?? A small thing, but on my frequent trips I setup my previous evening and waking schedule based on breakfast/checkout, obviously - like everyone on Planet Earth does. In this case, I lost an hour of sleep and sat around my room waiting for the hour to pass so I could eat, since nothing else in town was open so early, and I was too hungry to get back to sleep. A small thing, sure. But it turned an otherwise great stay into a total annoyance! If breakfast is at 7am, then make it 7am every day. If at 8am, then make it 8am. I get that there's other things going on in the world, by why make things confusing and annoying for your customers? It reminds me of another hotel that has breakfast from 7:30 - 10am, but eggs only until 9am. Or another two places I stayed, one in the same town, that makes you check out at 10am, but their restaurant won't open for lunch until 11am. How about hot water on Tue/Thu only? Pillows only on weekends? C'mon, you can do better.

Útulný hotel blízko centra, ale v klidném koutku. Příjemný a ochotný personál, dobrá snídaně.
