Horifying and near death experience - BE WARNED!
Nothing
My entire stay at the hotel was a horrifying experience, which ended in an accident where I fell, and I was on the floor for almost an hour due to no emergency contact route. When I managed to crawl out and contact the hotel multiple times using the provided telephone number, nobody responded. I dropped a text message, and nobody came to check on me in my room. Even after booking.com contacted the hotel when I reported the incident, there was no response. When someone eventually came to the room, his response was that "reception is only available from 0900-10:30 and he justified that by saying that it is at the entrance when you come into the hotel. I have escalated a health and safety complaint to Booking.com and will also escalate it to the relevant authorities. The hotel is a health and safety hazard, particularly for anyone with a disability. I have returned home with pain and a sprain due to the fall, and I am now limping because of the pain. That is just one of the terrible experiences I had there; to put it plainly, it was the worst part of my stay at the hotel. Others include: Breakfast was cancelled by the hotel (via an email sent at 12:00 on my arrival day, before my check-in at 15:00), with the option to cancel and receive a refund. N/B I didn't see it until I arrived at the hotel at night. Because of a full calendar of meetings the next day, I didn't have any meals until the afternoon, when I was able to go out. Walking across the floor caused it to shake and vibrate (videos available), which in turn made the tables, chairs, kettle, glass, cups, etc. shake. It was so noisy and uncomfortable, every movement was torture. Continuous temperature fluctuations in the shower, which eventually ended with a sudden sharp burst of freezing water on my skin, triggering an immediate loss of strength, muscle control and coordination, which caused me to lose balance and fall in the bath.

needs work doing ok if you specifically need to stay in the area but dont expect too much
in a good location with plenty of parking
the place has seen allot better days very tired and damaged furniture, really needs so investment to bring it up to scratch no bar or food served but you can arrange a takeaway to be delivered.

Happy enough with value but there are some compromises.
Cleanliness location and large family room
Shower is either freezing or boiling hot. Overhead electric shower didn’t work and hand held was intermittent temp. Also very few available plug points, bedside table falling apart and curtains hanging by 2 hooks. Lots of things that could easily be updated with a bit more care and attention. Didn’t see staff except briefly at check in.

Disappointing stay
Location and good that it has it's own car park. Friendly staff.
Dirty sheet and pillows - stain on sheet so noticeable that either it wasn't changed or the cleaning staff didn't care, not acceptable. Advised the person who checked us in and I had to show him as it felt like he didn't believe me. We needed to go to our function so left him to change the sheet and pillows which he did. In the morning, was going to use the kettle but on inspection it was rusty on the inside. Then went for a shower, hairs on tiles and water pressure so weak you'd be better off waiting for it to rain! Had we arrived earlier we wouldn't of stayed.

Basic no frills.
Barons Court had been our go to over the years when visiting my mum & family in Wolverhampton. It was always almost a home from home stay with Keith & his team in a quirky comfortable setting. This was our first visit since it has changed hands. It was ‘clean’, the room was spacious & our bed was comfortable. However, the no longer has the ambience that we loved. The hosts were friendly and telephoned prior to our visit to get a estimated arrival time.
Our party consisted of my grown daughter, my husband & myself. We were originally going to be a party of 4 hence booking 2 rooms. Despite the place being virtually empty we were allocated rooms at opposite ends of the building. Keith always gave us rooms near each other. Barons Court only offered a bed as they are no longer doing breakfasts. Booking.Com needs to be updated. This meant it was more like a hostel. It would have been useful to have a list of recommended places to get breakfast in the area. Our family offered us breakfast, but we wanted to treat ourselves so went to Ghales on Finchfield Road - highly recommended. Our room was furnished with cheap ‘modern’ furniture that is already showing signs of wear & tear. Furniture needs to be sturdy & well made to withstand the vigorous of multiple customer use. The electrics are questionable with sockets being held together with tape & extension cables being plugged into other extension cables. The bathroom looked like it had had some ‘upgrade’ but the bath seal was mouldy. There were 2 hooks on the back of the door which was nowhere near the bath or sink. The bathroom was big enough to accommodate a towel rail & or a chair. If you are looking for somewhere simply to sleep for a night and are on a budget this ticks the boxes. Unfortunately, the fact that they no longer offer breakfasts & the home from home feeling is no longer there means that we will not be staying again. The new hosts need to decide who their target customers and aim to meet the needs of those customers. Pairing the decor back (getting rid of the cushions and strips of fabric on the beds. Getting rid of the cheap curtains in the rooms and provide well fitting blinds. Having sturdy robust furniture (stripped pine). The eclectic frippery in the corridors now looks out of place and should go. It maybe worth providing a space where guests can eat their meals.
