La viola

La Viola is an independent country villa (car needed), impeccably restored with taste and meticulous attention to detail, nestled within a 12-hectare private estate. I spent nine blissful days here filled with peace, tranquillity, and wellness. It offered a complete immersion into the region's natural beauty, brimming with historic art treasures and enchanting destinations, as it sits right on the border of Umbria, Tuscany, and Lazio. The villa boasts exceptionally spacious and comfortable interiors. While ideal for a single traveller or a couple wishing to avoid the crowds of mass tourism, it can comfortably host up to four guests thanks to the sofa bed in the expansive first-floor open-plan living area. The owners are lovely and always ready to help: a quick text, and they immediately reply. This place is pure magic, and I highly recommend it to anyone who, like me, requires peace and nature to recharge.

Personally, I couldn't ask for more. However, I hope that dogs will be allowed in the future :-)

Amazing view, calm country side location, huge terrace under pine trees. While the top floor (kitchen) gets summerly hot, the lower floor (bedroom) stayed really cool, perfect to sleep without AC! I'm sensitive to ACs, so this was extra appreciated. As it is in the countryside: plenty of animal visitors, a black cat, various birds and -and this might not be für everyone- a herd of wild boars running past, in the fields below the terrace. (They were shy, stayed away, no danger.) You hear owls at night and distant roosters in the morning . Very idyllic! Of course there are many sights nearby to visit, Parco dei Monstri / Sacro Bosco, the Borgo Di Bomarzo, Etruscan pyramid...

No washing machine. (Not a biggie though). This is on Google: If you try to find the location, don't enter the address, Google will point you to the wrong bend of the serpentine road. Enter "La Viola" this will show the exact location.
