We really enjoyed our 2-night stay at San Fermín Apartments. The apartment was clean, modern and very comfortable, particularly the beds. The air conditioning in the bedroom was excellent, and having the pool right outside the apartment was a real bonus. The location was also very good for exploring Puerto del Carmen. Mariana was excellent to communicate with and was extremely helpful. She kindly allowed us to check in at 3pm instead of 4pm and also allowed us to pay for and keep the apartment on our last day, which was a huge help as we had a late flight.

There were only a few minor things that we noticed. We had room 158 and experienced a whistling noise that came and went during the night and woke us up early in the morning. We tried to work out where it was coming from but couldn’t pinpoint it. We think it may have been coming from inside the apartment, possibly wind coming through a door, plumbing or the pool pump, although we couldn’t be certain. The sun loungers were also quite uncomfortable as they had no padding, particularly when lying on your front. I ended up using the padding from the chairs that were on the terrace underneath my towel, which made them much more comfortable. An electric kettle would also have been preferable to the hob kettle, as it took a little while for the water to heat up, but this was only a minor issue.

Well I suppose it started off badly. I didn't receive any email with instructions on full address and picking up keys. Therefore when we arrived, we went to address listed on Booking.com which was 12 Calle Belgica. This property also had a key box outside but when my husband inserted the code, it didn't work. He then rang listed number and was told it was San Fermin Complex across the road. The front door was open and we spent a long time searching for No. 12 apartment but there was no such No. He rang back to find out it was Apartment No. 158. We went to this apartment and tried the code but it didn't work. He rang back and was given a different Code which worked. We wouldn't have had any of these problems if we had received the Instruction Email and Canary Host did apologise that the email was in their Outbox but really it's not good enough. It was totally their responsibility to ensure we received full instructions on the property. I found it quite distressing at the time as we didn't know what was going on and luckily we didn't arrive very late at night or it would have been much worse.
