Pleasant

The location was great and so was the place itself, a reconstructed medieval monastery on the top of the very central Castello city district. The taxi didn't make it all the way there, the street was steep and narrow. In the historic ciy centre of Genova, the buildings are high and the streets are narrow, therefore not a lot of light is to be expected in the majority of appartments for rent - very much the case with our appartment: it was a pleasant medieval space within the cloister with the rests of frescoes and a very beautiful brick floor. The intructions on how to get in were very clear and accurate, we checked-in practicaly in no time. The owner was on our disposal via whatspp with no hesitation, she responded instantly. The beds were comfortable, the facilites were all there.

I would expect a charming place to be clean as well but that was unfortunatelly not the case. It seems there was a trouble in communication between the owner and the cleaner as our place was not thouroughly cleaned up after previous guests. It was cleaned up on our request immediately - yet not even close to sufficient, on a very low (less than basic) level. There was a lot of dust around and it stayed that way during our stay as there was no cleaning service forseen before our departure (four nights). We cleaned the neccessary parts ourselves. It has nothing to do with the antiquity of the place, it is simply not cleaned well. I suggested the owner to take care of it as I really hate to be put in a position to complain about such a thing.

Very good

Great location in the middle of the wonderful old town, good view from the balcony, spacy apartment, all the facilities we needed.

Furniture allocated slightly messy, like in a warehouse but it is ok. The biggest problem was mosquitoes and there where no grid or any other reasonable defense (we even thought to use repellents while we sleep).
