Close to bus stops. Great location and manager at the hostel is super friendly. Love the Chilean staff too! Super helpful with giving instructions.
Room smells. But I think it’s the people not the hostel

The staff is very nice and friendly. Bed is comfortable. The location is perfect.
A bit noisy during the night if you sleep near the door.

the kitchen was spacious and the hostel is also near the Old Town, which is great. the staff were also very kind and helpful.
the couch attached to the wall in the kitchen is somewhat steep and a bit uncomfortable to sit on.

Some sweet treats were left by the owner which was nice.

Everything, staff was very friendly and warm to each guest.

Everything was clean.
Good location close to the city center.
Good BBQ nearby.
Awesome reception.
No issues with hot water.
No issues with Wi-Fi.
The locker under the bed (Room 2) could be opened by an easy pull even when locked.
Sound isolation and light isolation is average - if you neighbor turns on the light - it's everywhere; noises from reception are not blocked enough.
Ear plugs are recommended if you have good hearing and sensitive sleep.

It’s really clean for hostel standards and the property position is really good, everything is close.
Shower in shower cabins, since they are fixed ones so I found them hard for using.

I'm surprised since I opened the door and Nina received me with a big smile. She's kind and explain just everything about the hostel and Kotor.
The beds are nice, the room has a good privacy with the curtains in the bunkbeds. Two kitchens which is really nice in case you want to socialize, work in a quiet area, or just cook.
The hostel is super clean, towel available for free.
It's 3 minutes walking to the bus station and they print your ticket in case you bought it online (the station charge you for that).
Well, one of my preferred hostel around the world and I barely give 10, but Pupa deserve it.
Nothing to complain, honestly
Perfect for travelers

The location and the staff was friendly and helpful
A bit on the expensive side

The hostel was really clean and well-maintained, which made my stay very comfortable. The staff and other guests were super friendly and welcoming, creating a great atmosphere for socializing and relaxing.
The only thing that stood out negatively was Nathan, who was a bit messy and not very tidy. It didn’t ruin the stay, but it was noticeable.

The staff were the best of my stay. I have met a lot of people and we always do or play something together. The hostel was really comfortable and cozy, and you have free good coffee. Nina, Ena, Tom, Once, the recepcionists, volunteers, everyone really kind, helpful and always caring about the guests.
I would definitely be back!

Everything amazing

As a solo traveler, everything about the place was great. The staff (super-friendly), the rooms, the toilets, and especially the location. Being centrally located in Kotor, it was just so convenient to travel to the bus stop or the local attractions. Absolutely loved it. This was definitely one of the most convenient places I've lived in.

I spent a week at Hostel Pupa and wish I could have stayed longer, the facilities were great but the staff was like family, thanks for everything Nina, I can’t wait to come back again.

Excellent location right next to the bay. The hostel was clean and had good communal facilities. Reception was helpful and overall the hostel had a good social vibe.
Just round the corner is a man-made beach where you can go swimming in the bay

Very lovely staff, kitchen fully kitted out, bathrooms were clean.
A bit pricey but by Kotor standards I think it can't be helped.

My stay at this hostel was amazing because of the service of the front desk and also giving amazing tips of where to go and visit.
My dorm room was spacious and quiet, but not a lot of place to 'keep' your luggage.
The kitchen area is a bit cramped, especially if someone is cooking a big meal. Would be great to have a bigger fridge because I didn't have a lot of space to keep my food.

Excellent location - on the marina and by the old city.
Great people at reception. Clean room and comfy beds.
Dormitries felt fairly spacious.
Quite a small place so not a lot of options in terms of hanging out in shared areas.
When I was there there was a couple who behaved like e upstairs lounge was their office/living room. Downstairs reception area is the other shared space but it's quite small too for the amout of people in the hostel.

10.0 / 10.0
The location was perfect, making it very easy to explore the city, and they were always helpful with directions and routes. The staff were incredibly kind, friendly, and professional, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The atmosphere was wonderful – especially in the evenings when we played games together. It’s truly an unforgettable place where I made many new friends.
Especially Nina, thank you so much for everything!

Excellent location at the seafront, at (maybe less than) 5 minutes walking distance to old town, central bus station, farmers' market and local bus stops. Just a few steps away from a nice town beach popular among locals (Mala plaza). The area is safe and not busy, although it's close to anything. Super friendly and efficient staff, providing useful info and recommendations. Very clean bathrooms. I stayed at this hostel before, in 2017, when it was recently opened. The place looks like new and they are doing an excellent job.
I thought the price (30 euro/night) was too high for a bed in a shared dorm (8 beds), even if there was a Manu Chao concert scheduled, And I still think the same. But I booked it because I was after the location and I knew the place was good. And it proved to be as expected. Anyways, for this rate, even a solo traveler can do better for sure, if he or she is willing to stay in one of the nearby villages.

The location is really great, right in the centre of town. And the staff I met on arrival was also great. They have a lot of tips and tricks for travellers. The place was also clean enough.
Unfortunately I didn't enjoy my stay at this hostel - which is only partly because of the place itself, the rest is due to other guests.
Some things about the hostel itself:
The beds didn't feel very stable. I could feel the bed shake when the person below me moved. The bathrooms are a combination of showers and toilets which leads to people walking in with dirty shoes and doesn't give a lot of privacy when taking a shower. The place itself is quite small. The kitchen and social area is kind of in the corridor, so when walking from room to toilet you walk through the kitchen (depending on the room of course). This also made the room smell of food.
A few words about the other guests while I was staying there (I am aware that these things are not the hostel's faults and maybe I was just having bad luck, but I think as the other guests are a big part of a stay at the hostel, it's still important):
I tried to sleep early but people came into the room, turning on the light and talking loudly until very late at night. At 2am I woke up to someone having sex in the bed below me. While I was preparing to take a shower, a stranger made inappropriate jokes about joining in. I later overheard someone else complaining that exactly this person opened the shower curtain while he was inside taking a shower.
As I said, these are clearly only my experiences but all in all I felt this place is more of a party hostel and fine when you don't want to sleep long anyway, but not suitable for a traveller who is looking for some good rest, a quiet night, and an early start the next morning. It is a decent place, but for me not worth the money. I'd rather stay out of town next time.

I don't remember feeling this welcomed at an accomodation, ever.
The words "why are you so nice to me" even came out at some point haha
Had an amazing time here, both in and outside the hostel.
Spacious rooms, very complete kitchens and plenty of bathrooms.
Funnily enough, I read some comments about people snoring and I have 1 word for them: earplugs. There, solved ;)

Loved this hostel, and its staff. No where else do you get an actual explanation how everything works, and where everything is apart from this hostel - Nina thank you!!!
Two common areas, felt very safe and secure.
Absolutely clean!! They pride themselves and I believe them!
Even got curtains!
Couldn’t think of one thing !! Everything was great, and I met many that extended their stay for a reason

Great hostel! Great location five min walk to old town. Staff is very nice. Beds are comfy and private.
Could use more than 2 showers per floor, but I never had to wait ! Also my lock didn't lock and you have to use their locks so I was out of luck. They tried to fix it but couldn't.

Location was really great and staff was friendly. Loved the privacy curtains on the bed. Hostel was calm without a party atmosphere
In my room where I laid my bags on the ledge beside the bed was covered in dust

Hostel was really close to the bus station. The staff was very friendly and helpful - and accomodating for my late arrival. The bathroom as okay and the beds has curtains.
Bad experience mainly due to guests’ bad hostel etiquette - making a lot of noise in the dorm- some people woke up at 3 am and started packing IN the dorm, someone arrived after midnight and turned the dorm light on. Last thing less important is having to make your own bed, which is hard when you arrive late, and being on the top bunk. (Removing sheets is fine though). The common area with seats is a lot smaller than in the pictures and is basically the hotel lobby. The dorm was on the ground floor close to the reception meant hearing the noise from the reception when the door opens. There was no music or whatsoever but just people talking. This is the first time I have a completely different opinion from the general hostel rating.

Clean and neat place
It was bit difficult to get on to the top of the bed as it was a bit higher. Overall good.

Location was incredible and staff was fantastic - very kind and helpful! Laundry was easy and affordable. Kitchens were well stocked and large enough for all guests. Bathrooms were clean and accessible for all rooms.
Would have loved larger lockers to store full bags. Nothing else - loved my stay!

Woooow! I don't know which words use to describe Pupa hostel, i can start that it was an amazing stay! I've never in my life experience better hostel atmosphere and positive vibes! The stuff (especially Nina and Simon) is really awesome, often the hang out with guests before of after their work during their free time <3 I met a lot of fantastic people, we drank many conversation and many beers and we had such an amazing time that even now when I'm thinking about that is over I feel sad :( Words can't explain well my feelings. Anyway the hostel is close to city center, supermarket and petrol station (if u need beer after 23 XD). I hope i can come back there soon 🥰

Super clean, cozy, and friendly environment. The hostel is so well-located, but the highlights and stars are the kind and helpful staff. Nina is the best, so smiley and full of energy, you will love her introduction; she literally gives you a lesson like in school, so get on board because she will give you the best tips to ENJOY the city. The other two guys are also so helpful and friendly with positive vibes. Thanks you all! I had a good time, and I even extended one more night because of the place and city. More highlights: no noise, supermarket crossing the corner, best bbq, breakfast, and burgers at 150m, and the bus station is next to the hostel just to say it like that. Ask for all details at the reception, they will help you not to skip a detail even before preparing your stuffs for your next destination.
No complaints at all

Great location and price
Very helpful staff
Good kitchen and social set up
No where to get changed other than laid down in ur bunk…showers were just for showering, no changing area in them. Plus for short people like me, the shelf was too high

the price is a bit high in general, but considering the prices in kotor, is not that bad

Location, Staff, Car Parking.
Noticed that the bathrooms were somewhat unclean and had an unpleasant damp odor.

Staffs are very friendly. They gave very detailed info about Budva when I arrived. They gave the 20% discount for going into the cable car as well as organising the taxi. They also provide clean towers. Location is great, in between old town and bus station by the sea.
Charge €5 for laundry. Blind of the bunk bed wasn’t long enough so it didn’t fully cover everything. There’s be light coming through. It only has mixed gender rooms. Small space.

We were so happy that we chose to stay at Hostel Pupa during our time in Kotor. The staff were fantastic and took the time to give us great recommendations, the bathrooms were large and always clean, beds were comfortable and spacious in the dorms. We loved the fact that the property was located just outside the old town, meaning we didn’t get the associated noise at night - there’s also a wonderful local swimming spot around the corner!

Excellent hostel
Bright, clean & friendly.
Short distance to old town, therefore much quieter. Close to bus station and shops.
Right next to the water, lovely to sit outside the hostel chatting with fellow travellers.
Very helpful and kind staff.
