A hidden gem

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at this charming, small, family-run hotel, and it was truly one of the highlights of our trip. The host, a local farmer, runs the place with a genuine warmth and hospitality that you rarely come across these days. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed like old friends—with a big smile, kind eyes, and a level of generosity that made us feel right at home. While there were some minor language barriers, they did not detract in the slightest from the experience. In fact, they only added to the authenticity and heartwarming nature of our stay. The host’s kindness, patience, and good humour transcended any need for perfect translation. Through gestures, smiles, and a few shared words, we always understood each other perfectly. The setting is peaceful and authentic, offering a true glimpse into rural life and the beauty of local tradition. You can tell this is not just a business, but a heartfelt extension of the family’s way of life. Every detail—from the homemade touches in the breakfast to the thoughtfully prepared rooms—reflects the pride and care they put into their home. We left feeling not just rested, but deeply touched by the warmth and sincerity of our hosts. If you're looking for a unique and memorable stay that captures the spirit of real hospitality, this place is an absolute gem. Highly recommended—we will certainly be back!

Unsafe and not suitable for young solo female travelers

There's not much to like about this stay as the owner really tainted the whole experience for me. The rooms were clean and location are the only good points I can add

On entering the house smelt of cigarettes as the owner and his friends were all smoking in the kitchen. I was sexually harassed by the owner which I have approached Booking about and am surprised they have not taken it seriously. This property shouldn't still be listed as it hasn't been checked properly by booking and if you are a young female solo traveler it is definitely not safe to stay here as the owner is sexually inappropriate. I have done alot of solo travel and never have I felt so unsafe and uncomfortable, so much that I had to stay in alternative accommodation. In my new accommodation I found out the owner is well known in the village for having a liking of young females, being drunk and sexually in appropriate. A total waste of money that I didn't get refunded for and this property should be taken off.

Quiet and very comfortable stay.

The parking lot is right in front of the hotel. The service is very nice. Very very Comfortable beds.

The owner demanded 240€ just for an extra bed, which the most expensive room we rented of four costed 140€!

Disappointing

Friendly host

The room was not cleaned ok The linen and towels were not pleasant The smell of cigarettes was overwhelming - and I had to have window open all night since the room was placed just over the kitchen/office where staff was smoking. That it mind that the place is a cheaper option - but the above things are the least that should be ok.

Very poor

Nothing. The skiing was excellent, but that had nothing to do with the hotel.

Paid for 4 x en-suite double rooms for 4 x guests / 3 nights. Upon arrival, and after unloading our cases, the owner came out and asked us to reload our cases into the car and to follow him to another building. We were then taken to what is best described as a very basic B & B round the corner and handed over with no explanation. The B & B owner was left to explain the the owner of the Stanahof had overbooked. All rooms were very basic, 1 room had a shared toilet facility and 2 of us had to share for the last night. There were also no restaurant facilities for evening meals. A compensation request via Booking.Com was unsuccessful which is appalling given that we didn't get what we paid for. We get together once a year and the hotel is a big part of our experience, so this was very disappointing and we shall not be returning. Austrian hospitality is usually so much better than this.

Superb

The location is super and easy to find. The shops, cafés and restaurants are a five-minute walk up the road. There’s an M-Preis supermarket some 300 meters away. Breakfast was adequate and there willingness to prepare scrambled eggs was a big plus.

We stayed in room #8. There was absolutely no WiFi connection there. We had to go outside our room and down the hall - not good - especially for the price we paid to stay there. The older gentleman (the owner I assume) was charming and helpful but his cigarette smoking in his kitchen near the entrance was off-putting. To be fair, though, it only happened the first day. They should invest in something like a Nespresso coffee machine. Not expensive and way better than filtered coffee.

Die Unterkunft ist sehr einfach, wir hatten aber trotzdem viel Spaß.

Die Lage war sehr gut. Man konnte ohne Probleme mit dem Skibus ins Skigebiet fahren. Man konnte gut am Haus parken.

Die Unterkunft war sehr rustikal. Das Frühstück leider sehr einfach. Es gab gar kein Ost und kein Gemüse. Die Frühstücksdame war aber sehr freundlich und bemüht.

Wer Ischgl in der Nähe haben möchte und nicht zu lange beim Apress Ski ist ist hier gut aufeghoben.

Sehr freundlicher Chef, der immer für ein Schnapserl zu haben ist 🙂 Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist optimal, wenn man mit normalem Standard zufrieden ist. Sauberkeit, Wärme und Freundlichkeit sind uns wichtig – und all das war hier gegeben.

Katastrophe. Auf jeden Fall woanders buchen in Galtür.

Gar nichts !

Das Zimmer war winzig klein, die sanitären Anlagen uralt. Das Frühstück hätten wir uns selber machen sollen. Aus der Dusche kam nur kaltes Wasser. Die Matratze hing schon nur beim Draufsetzen auf den Boden hinab, war also auch uralt. Kurzum: Wir reisten noch am gleichen Abend wieder ab - bei 2 Stunden Heimweg ging das gerade noch. So etwas habe ich als langjährige Nutzerin von booking.com noch nie erlebt ! Immerhin hat booking auf meine Beschwerde reagiert, sich der Sache angenommen und sogar eine kleine Prämie als Gutschein gewährt.

Walter el hombre de recepción es encantador y hospitalario,me ofreció una birra pero como no podía por mi religión me ofrecio un sprit, estabamos solo de paso para suiza y reservamos para descansar una noche,pero me ha sorprendido el entorno,el paisaje super bonito y hay una mezcla cultural y religiosa importante, merece la pena volver para discubrir aquello.me recuerda a mi pais de origen marruecos. Relacion calidad precio esta genial.Gracias wallter.

Parfait!

Nous avons été surclassés au niveau de la chambre, nous avons eu une salle de bain privée pour le prix de base. Parking juste en face et très proche des randos (20m). Richard, le propriétaire est avenant et pas regardant au niveau des réservations, bien loin des clichés sur l’Autriche autoritaire. Il nous a laisser utiliser une cuisine non louée pour cuisiner nous-mêmes.

Richard semble quelque peu surchargé par la gestion de la pension, la présence de ses copains et ses vaches. Nous avons dû attendre dans la salle à manger que la dame (très sympa) qui nettoie arrive à le contacter. Nous avons eu peur que notre réservation ne soit pas enregistrée. Le petit dej’ est correct mais vous devez tout faire vous-même.

De ligging.was goed en het ontbijt was simpel maar ok.

We hadden een kamer geboekt met toilet, onze kamer had geen eigen toilet maar we moesten deze delen met andere kamers. Onze kamer lag in het souterrain, de hele nacht heeft de verwarming lopen loeien, deze was in een andere ruimte/kelder. Oordoppen aan te bevelen. De dekbedovertrekken waren syntetisch, dat voelde niet fijn. Bij binnenkomst kwam de sigaren rooklucht je tegemoet, smerig. Voor de prijs die we hebben betaald was het een enorme tegenvaller.
