We told them our arrival time prior to them accepting, we then arrived at said time after they accepted and saod we could come, to no one there and the doors locked, we then had to sleep in our car and still haven’t had our money back

Prompt service on arrival, handy location for work the following morning, open at this time of year enabling me to stay the night before work as roads likely impassable the following morning. Son able to find out on Facebook that it was hoped to have staffing to enable opening later that evening.
Due to snowy weather entire building closed on arrival, unheated bedroom..

Aran was amazing. We arrived very late, he was very helpful
The beds were very lumpy and the room was very cold

The bunkhouse room had an toilet and shower.
I have allowed a few days to pass before reflecting on my experience staying at The Heights. I can suggest though that when contrasted with other hostels and bunkhouses that I have stayed in throughout Britain, the Outer Hebrides and Europe, The Heights is the most disappointing equivalent accommodation I have ever used. It was appalling. I was very disappointed.
Reasons listed below and photos available:
-Very neglected furnishings in the room and bathroom.
-Not vacuumed and very evidently requiring it.
-Tepid radiator and cold room, despite being told the heating was on.
-A single, loose electrical socket.
-Inadequate shower curtain for the shower, which was a trip hazard.
-Shower hot and cold taps the wrong way round.
I think these inadequacies would have been more tolerable 30 years ago, but not in 2025. I got the lasting impression that The Heights has contempt for its customers.
I will not recommend it to others in the hiking fraternity. One to avoid.

You cannot fault the location of The Heights if you want to go walking in Eryri National Park. It is fit for purpose, I suppose, as a bunk house when you just want to get up and start walking.
The food and drink downstairs is decent and reasonably priced. Staff are friendly and helpful.
The rooms are beyond tired. They are pretty dirty and have mould (showers in particular). One of the showers worked and the other didn't. The toilet was useable but the basin was cracked. The mattresses are incredibly cheap and collapse almost to nothing under the weight of a grown man.
Unsure how often they wash the sheets on the mattresses, but make sure you have your own sleeping bag and pillow (and towel).
The radiators did not come on at all during our stay. Even though it's mid-November.
The noise from the bar at night was not an issue (closes at 11pm), but didn't really appreciate the 6:30am noise (staff moving furniture I think). No breakfast served during our stay (should have told us that in advance).
Fit for purpose as a cheap bunkhouse, but I wouldn't in a million years take my wife (or childre) to this place.

The staff here were really friendly
The bunkhouse can do with a good upgrade all over as it’s very tired. It was as clean as it’s going to get with in a rundown environment . It c your looking for a place one step up from a cardboard box this is your place.

It is in an ideal place in Llanberis
The staff are fab
It was freezing
The window didn't shut properly so there was a draft all night and the radiator didn't work.
The mattresses are well passed any sell by date I could tell you how many springs mine had because each one was digging into me all night long

Nothing.
The bunk beds were falling apart and that was an absolute hazard. There was black mould everywhere. We woke up damp. It was absolutely disgusting.

UPDATE: The property has refused to respond to my messages and follow up, as well as Booking.com's engagement with them. Despite repeated attempts I have still not received the promised refund. Their lack of accountability and complete failure to respond confirm my poor experience. Strongly recommend avoiding this accommodation.
ORIGINAL POST: I had to request a clean bottom sheet because they all had signs of use, hair etc. I was staying two nights, my personal bedding and items of clothing that I left on my bed were removed by the cleaner after my first night. A lovely member of the bar team tried to help and provided me with a sleeping bag. The cleaner apparently did not know where he put my things. I was told I would be refunded for the items - I have heard nothing and I have had no response on booking.com. If staying on a Friday and Saturday night be prepared for disrupted sleep as it is a bar & hotel with large groups of drinkers all evening and very poor soundproofing.
Not worth it. Find an alternative spot. I’m sadly very disappointed.

Lovely people were dancing happily in a lively atmosphere, creating a warm and joyful scene. Even though it was my first time in the UK on a business trip, they went out of their way to help me—he even provided me with a sleeping bag, something that is usually not offered. They truly were such lovely people.

Nothing, it was a big disappointment, please save your money and time, nothing works, bed bugs amd what not we found during our stay
Everything, everything was worse, not a single thing was working properly, toilets were not clean, showers didn’t had water, bed didn’t had pillows and duvet

Great location. Nice bar and atmosphere
Very cheap bunk beds and mattresses that creak and squeak at every slight movement. Not great for a good night's sleep but good enough if you need a place that is slightly better than a tent.

Nothing.
Place was filthy, room looked as though it hadn't been cleaned for weeks and smelt even worse. No blinds on the windows in bedroom. No lock on bathroom door. We were that uncomfortable we didn't stay even stay.

Brilliant location if wanting to walk snowdon mountains.
Everything for very dirty, matters are absolutely covered in stains. If you want to slum it … then go for it, it was the cheapest place we could find to stay. We booked for 2 nights. 1 night was enough for us so left early.

Location of the property is great. That’s about it
Our room was up there with the worst I’ve ever seen. We walked in to a flooded bathroom. There was damp and mould all over the ceiling. The bunk beds has that many slats missing underneath the top bunk that it was unsafe to sleep in.

You get what you pay for, cheap easy place to stay, location is great
Mattresses aren’t very comfy, everything seems quite run down, the door to the dorm doesn’t lock very well, the food is very overpriced for what you get, it’s alright if you just need a bed to stay

The location was perfect, near to all shops (takeaways, groceries), next to a beautiful lake, spacious car park. The bedrooms were very basic, mattresses had springs, which you could feel, so not comfortable. Breakfast served at 8am which was good, and pub food, beer - so that was a bonus. Staff were friendly and owner (Aaron) really helpful. With it being a pub, the place had a very friendly vibe, no loud music, it is a really nice place to socialise at, as its very spacious (inside/outside seating).
I understand it is a bunkhouse, but better matresses would make your sleep so much more comfortable, especially if you have been out hiking. Also shower curtains had mould on the bottom, so a bit of TLC/maintenance, would go in making the stay much more appealing.

The staff were brilliant, the food was amazing for both breakfast and evening meals. Bar was great, can get busy, but that was nice. Would stay again.
Although basic, which is what I expected, it could do with a good clean and bleach. The toilet and shower in our room was dirty, not just your normal everyday toilet stains but been there a while. A bit of bleach and a scrub would do the trick.

Great location and beer garden, over looking Snowdonia. Easy to access with a large group of people as they used codes instead of keys.
Shower was pretty nasty, dirty and mouldy. Mattresses were uncomfortable but wasn’t really expecting much as they reflected the price of the room. Worst thing was being massively over charged at breakfast, when I questioned the price (compared to what I’d totted up from the prices on the menu) the staff responded with ‘I don’t make the prices up, I question the practices of this place all the time’. I only didn’t take things any further as I just wanted my breakfast to nurse my hangover!

It was nice and I loved it
Change the shower curtain and put some bathroom mats pls

Nasty dirty. Bed was super uncomfortable. Bathroom was clogged, the walls are oily and unhygienic. WiFi was not working at all. I would’ve given a negative 10 if I can. Avoid this place at all costs! Was in an all female room but this dude came around ten and snored the whole night.

Nice barkeep.
Old, rotten mattresses. You could feel every single spring. We hardly slept at all. Dirty sheets, dirty bathroom. No common room. Way too expensive.

In terms of location its amazing, in the centre of town, close to the Llanberis path start and has a great atmosphere in the evening. Had breakfast and dinner there and the food was super tasty, very kinda staff
Wifi connection was not connecting im the rooms, which isnt a major issue.

It was a mixed dorm, something that wasn’t made clear when booking.
The bathroom door did not lock or even close (u had to out your foot on it to stop it opening).
When we returned from our climb the room was full of loud drunk people and every bed occupied some even two in bed.
Our beds, that we paid for, were all being used and the girls refused to even let us enter the room implying we had simply followed them in off the street!
We had to ‘sleep’ outside on the garden benches.
We were there as part of 3 peak challenge for charity. We couldn’t shower, use the toilets or the beds. No staff on hand to help. I’ve reached out to The Height’s Bunkhouse but they not replying to my emails.
5.0 / 10.0
This is cheap and cheerful accommodation. I got what I paid for, but in hindsight I wish I had paid more for a bit more comfort.
There is one toilet and one shower, in separate sub-units within the room, for eight people.

It's close to the bus station.
This was by far the worst place I’ve ever stayed at. It’s basically a dirty, unmaintained bunk bed in a poorly kept room. The bathroom was filthy — clearly not cleaned, with a broken flush and no basic toiletries like soap, handwash, or shampoo. Shockingly, they didn’t even provide essentials like a bedsheet, pillow, or duvet. There was no heating in the room either, making it incredibly uncomfortable. I honestly don’t understand what they are charging £32 for. The whole experience was unacceptable and completely unhygienic. I would strongly recommend avoiding this place.

The beds could definitely do with some love but can’t really argue for the price.

Great location and good value. Friendly staff
Basic beds. No lock on bathroom door. I know it was advertised before hand, but I would still expect a basic level of bedding in a hostel. Makes a difference if you are travelling by foot

Location was perfect, free parking which was great, staff were kind and friendly. The bar a restaurant were decently priced and had a lovely atmosphere. As a solo female traveller I felt completely safe.
The rooms were very basic which was expected, only complaint was the mattress Which was not great but if you are going for hiking/physical activity you are too tired to really notice. Could do with a microwave and kettle for guests to use.

I thought it was a great place to stay, high above Llanberis with a great view of Snowdon. The beds were very comfortable. We were effectively full board with breakfast, packed lunch and evening meal. All meals were excellent. There is a very comfortable lounge area with free tea and coffee, just the ticket after a hard day on the mountains.
I was staying with 3 friends from the USA. They loved it.

Great location, staff were helpful
This is not advertised as 5 star hotel, it’s a hostel with a pub that charges very little. So as long as you are cognisant of that, it’s all good!

This time around the stay was bad, we had a fire alarm triggered at midnight but there was no one from staff. We evacuated and wait for like half hour out in cold, but no one was there to look wat was wrong. After immediately calling fire department, they came n checked everything. Standing in cold for one & half hour in midnight without having clue wats happening let down the whole experience.

Great location, 8 min walk to bus stop to get to Pen-y-Pass car park and hamdy shop across the road open until 11pm. Also, nice to have a pub with food and drink downstairs.
There was no kettle/tea coffee facilities (as far as I’m aware of, I did check in late)

squeaking mattresses which was loud when people are moving at night.
