Rubbish company just a joke

Nothing our booking was cancelled at 9 . 14 am on the morning of the 8 th of September We had already taken our dog to the kennels and set off to Hornsea with a very excited 2 year old We were told that the boiler had problems and there was no alternative accommodation for us We still have not received our money back from yourselfs and we couldn’t book in anywhere else at the last minute so our little break we were looking forward to was not to be So thank you for letting us down !!!!!!!!!’

Awful experience

The area

When booking and email confirmation there was no mention of a 200 pound deposit (which hoseasons admitted it wasn't shown) meaning my parents had to spend their spending money on the deposit. Hornsea said it was hoseasons who wanted the deposit and said I had to contact them regarding the deposit, when I spoke with hoseasons they said it was Hornsea site who took the deposit not them.. Both seems to be passing blame. The first cabin they was given the heating system was broken so had to be moved cabin. When my 7 year old daughter went down to visit so I could give my parents some money, my daughter went in the hot tub within 30mins her face started swelling I got her out the hot tub she stunk of stale water I went to the office to complain about this, the young man was very helpful and saw the tub was green and needed emptying, he also saw my daughters face and had to record it in their accident book, this also lead me to sit hours in a walk in centre to get my daughter checked over. I have stayed myself numerous times at this site and never had a problem so me and my siblings booked this cabin as a birthday gift for our dad, both my parents do not go away due to their disabilities and the first night they almost packed up and came home but felt awful that we booked it as a gift and now due to the whole experience both have said that's them done for holidays now. I could go on with a lot of issues from them getting to leaving.

Location. Early check in.

Outside of the lodge was dirty and old. Windows and outside lamps covered in spider webs, decking was aged and covered in moss. The chopping board was disgusting and should not be used for food prep! The extractor fan did not work. There were a lot of flies in the kitchen, but I'm not sure why as they weren't in the other parts of the lodge. Flooring/decking and steps around the hot tub was dirty. Half a day without water due to a construction incident meant we couldn't shower or wash until the PM on one of the days. This break was for my birthday and feel that for the same money we could've stayed in a much cleaner, nicer place, very disappointed.

Frustrating and dangerous supposed to be.relaxing

The location is good as it's between Filey brid and scarborough and not too far from Hornsea centre.. Also very relaxing but being spoilt by too many other buildings

When we arrived the three tvs weren't working rang next morning said would re boot WiFi but didn't work asked again didn't work asked again gentleman came down and found somebody had o Pinched the cable from back of TV so he took one from another TV said would be back. Next day woken up to smoke alarm got emergency number to turn off nobody came out to check what it was it went on again he came took 2 alarms and went came back with 1. So only 1 TV n 1 smoke alarm missing which is dangerous my holiday was ringing n running around an still no satisfaction. How can you Com. Pensate me thank I rang 11 25qm and was td he was on lunch

The hidden charges. For example, for the WiFi. It didn't warn us on your website that we would have to pay for things I that I thought would be included especially when I paid so much for the lodge it self. The fridge in my lodge also didn't have a proper self in it.

Very peaceful and quiet

Remember this is self-catering. Love the peace and the sun rise in the morning it was a bless. Lovely to see the hares, geese, ducks, bird. The lodge itself was big and love it, would go back again and they have lake so you can fish there but need license. Some dogs around and one thing took us by surprise that it was a hot day and ice cream van came so we can ice cream that make a difference. The bed is very comfortable. We brough air fryer to save using the oven so that kept clean. They provide towels and it big towel again that help.

Over all we really enjoyed our stay and we love Hornsea in general.

We enjoyed the location and looking at the sea from the window along with the location over all. We even got up early one day to see the sun rise.

If we had a roller blind in the master bedroom like the other rooms, this would of made our morning lay ins much more enjoyable.

A lot of additional fees

Great location , very clean

A lot of additional fees when arrived. First of all , we arrived at 6pm (in my booking confirmation says that the check in is from 4pm -12pm) the reception was closed, we had to call emergency number and we were asked to pay £15 for late check-in because the reception is only open until 5pm, but it's not mentioned anywhere on my booking, so i refused to pay. Then we were asked for £200 deposit, which again doesn't say anywhere. Wifi is not free you have pay £15 for a day, ridiculous !! Whoever is dealing with advert here on booking can't answer any questions. The place is overall really nice, but the lack of information put me off, so i don't think we are coming back.

good location in a gated well kept area, nice fishing pond for anglers and plenty of safe space for the children to play. Plenty of parking for larger groups and a good one way system for motor vehicles getting to their well spaced out accommodation. Hot tubs were really clean and well heated for a well earned relaxing chill out in the evenings.

We were a party of 8 adults and 2 small children staying in Lodge 20 and our only gripe were the amount of flies we were constantly having to swat or spray .

Perfect for a chilled weekend

The location is perfect for a relaxing break, very quiet and peaceful, the lodges on the evening all lit up look lovely. The hot tub was an added bonus.

The lodges are advertised as luxury, they’re definitely not. They’re nice and spacious, but definitely showing signs of wear and tear.

Nice open plan kitchen and living room with view over the ponds and resident geese and ducks. Very peaceful and quiet. Large clean and private hot tub.

No curtain or black out blind in bedroom, woken up by sunlight through ineffective blinds at 5am each morning.

I can really recommend Lakeside for a peaceful holiday. Look at the brochure for places to visit.

No meals involved. The place was lovely. The lodge bright and airy, clean. very happy

No bar on site. It would have been nice to maybe have a conversation with other guests and a quiet drink

stunning log cabins not overcrowded like a caravan park holiday. nice walks and close to town and beach.

Exceptional

The lodge was beautiful and had everything we needed, its safe and secure so the kids could run around outside. It was peaceful but removed enough you could have fun without fear of disturbing your neighbours.

They charged extra for WiFi that didn't work ( this is the second time we've stayed and WiFi didn't work in either lodge) I understand the signal may be weak due to the location but then I feel this should be provided for free ( when paying extra I feel the signal should be strong)

Always peaceful, great facilities and beautiful views

Even though we have stayed in the same lodge previous before the bed didnt seem as comfortable this time round but thats the only criticism (personally opinion.)
