Villa in Vilamoura with Pool near Beach

The property was in a great location ideal for our needs

There is a need for remodelling sadly it is looking a little run down. General maintenance required. Lighting, a fan in the living room. Rear access door, outside area etc

The photos here don't really do justice to the size of the outdoor area. The pool is very big, with three layers - the first is about 0.5 meters and just big enough for babies/toddlers to splash around, the middle pool is about 0.8 meters and a great size for 2 kids aged 6-8 to swim and play comfortably (along with the grown up kids!), the larger pool then gets deep quite quickly so more suitable for adults. We were a group of 10 and found it to be a perfect size, plenty of space, with water running down the stone areas during the day which was nice background noise so we couldn't really hear neighbours etc. It was kept fairly clean throughout our stay, we noticed a guy cleaning it several times a week. The seating areas outside are brilliant for the large group also. Sunbeds with adjustable head rests for everyone, several plastic tables and chairs and also quite a few built in seats and round table near the BBQ. There was always a few options to sit in the sun or shade during the day, and parasols were also provided. The BBQ itself was used a couple of times, nice to have the option. Inside the house is old fashioned per the photos, which we quite liked for the most part. The large open spaces in the hallway / living / dining area meant that we always had somewhere to sit without being cramped. There was plenty of sofas and tables. Smart TV in living room so we could use our own usb connection for chromecast. Plenty of sockets available throughout the house. Each of the 5 bedrooms had an ensuite with a shower (one with shower in the bath). Air conditioning in each bedroom also, it did seem to work better in some rooms more than others, but no issues for us in August, was never too hot. Management company organised the key lock and all was fine with that. I did contact them with a few issues and whatever could be fixed while we were there was done quickly, so good service.

First impressions of kitchen were bad due to a large amount of ants crawling over counters and presses. But after a couple of days they seemed to disappear so could have been due to previous guests leaving food out. We found that once we cleaned often, they didn't come back. The kitchen itself is very dated and could really do with an update - drawers feel like they would fall on your feet, presses cheaply made, would be nice to see some money spent on it. Items provided when we arrived were very minimal - only some bathrooms had the small bar of soap, others had none; only one toilet roll per toilet; only one set of towels per person; only one bath mat per room; no tea towels; no cleaning products; no bin liners. It would go a long way to have 2 sets of towels, proper handwash, 2 rolls of toilet paper and bin liners in each bin. Some floor tiles outside are loose/broken and could hurt someone, would like to see them repaired.
