About this house rental
*Guests will have the entire lodge to themselves!* All bedrooms are designed like hotel rooms, with private baths and private entrances. The lodge can accommodate up to 18 guests.

*PLEASE NOTE* Bedrooms 1, 6 & 7 can be accessed from inside the lodge. Bedrooms 2, 3, 4, & 5 can only be accessed from the outdoor, wrap around deck.
Kitchen:
Gourmet kitchen with high-end stainless steel appliances, a fully sized ice maker, 2 dishwashers. All cookware, glassware and basic spices are provided for every occasion. Bar seating and ample counter space for preparing everything from family pancake breakfast to Thanksgiving meals.
What's Provided:
We like to think of ourselves as a 'home away from home', supplying all the things you need for a memorable stay with friends, family and/or colleagues.
-All towels and linens, a variety of tea and cooking basics
-Toilet paper and paper towel rolls
-Liquid soap at all sinks. Please bring your preferred toiletries.
-A house hairdryer is available for use.

My family of about 12 had a wonderful stay at the Ducktrap Lodge. The great room was a hit, with a pool table, game tables, bar, and large couches. The outdoor patio and grill were also favorites. The large kitchen was well equipped, and the very large dining table fit everyone for family meals. The bedrooms and bathrooms were comfortable and allowed everyone some privacy.
The location was also great, with short drives to Camden, Rockland, Rockport, and Belfast. We drove to Acadia one day, and it took about 1 hr and 40 minutes. We had a great time at the lobster fest in Rockport. There's also a very nice pebble beach just down the road from the house, would definitely recommend checking it out.

We had a wonderful time. The house was just the right size for our 10-person group consisting of 8 adults and 2 children. The common areas had plenty of amenities (pool table, shuffle board, games. We loved having 2 dishwashers in the kitchen since we fully used the kitchen and grilling facilities for many meals. The location was central to many great Maine areas such as Camden, Belfast, and Acadia National Park. There is even a beach in walking distance and local turkeys and a woodchuck. The Cellardoor Winery is spectacular. We had one issue with the thermostat in one bedroom, which Alexandra fixed immediately after we texted. Great place. Great time.

The Ducktrap Retreat is lovely and was a great gathering spot for our family. The lodge is every bit as spacious and comfortable as the photos suggest. We particularly appreciated the large, well-equipped kitchen, the outdoor lobster cooking area, the large grill, the expansive dining room table, the ice makers, and the excellent outdoor seating. On our first night, we discovered the Keurig coffee maker was not working. Fortunately, there was a drip coffee maker available, and the host provided a new Keurig the following morning. The overall four-star rating is due to A/C issues we had during our entire 5-night stay. The main living areas of the retreat and about half of the bedrooms were very comfortable. The remaining bedrooms had temps running in the low 80s and simply would not cool down. We also discovered a leak in one of the bathroom ceilings, apparently related to the A/C issue. The host took several measures to resolve the problem. Unfortunately, even after the HVAC maintenance crew spent some time working on the system, we didn't see any noticeable improvement. We did appreciate the responsiveness of the host. Hopefully the issue is fully resolved by now!

This is an unusual property -maybe it was built for homeowners to use. It worked for our family and had amenities I had specified. The kitchen and lobby are are fairly updated, the rooms-not as much. The Wifi was very iffy and the bedroom televisions, although offering many stations, had two remotes, but no instructions. The view is very pretty.
