Never again. I am a regular visitor of Van der Valk, but this was far too bad to carry that name.

The only thing that was okay was that we received a free room upgrade after I complained about the first room. That’s why I gave a score of 2 instead of 1.

The first room had a mosquito infestation, mold in the bathroom, dirty curtains, black spots on the mattress (I suspect bed bugs), humidity issues, and very dirty seating. Considering the price we paid (around €160 for one night), this stay was extremely overpriced.

Location right on the highway was good for our trip.

The rooms were old and in real need of some renovation. Multiple lights in the room were flickering.

The beds were comfortable with soft good quality sheets. The shower had warm water with good pressure

The interior is quite outdated (carpet in bedrooms), the breakfast room was extremely noisy (bad acoustics?).

1st night in Belgium

Location, easy to get to, Kettle and supplies plus carton of water. Very helpful restaurant person who spoke english. and lovely meal (salmon & steak). Bar: find a table to be served. There is bike hire and large function areas plus small child play area inside. Own food truck outside. Breakfast ok (bacon, scr. egg, beans hot only, but of plenty of other items) No English breakfast tea only Earl Grey or fruit etc. Coffee/hot water machine. Basic English.

Near the motorway so need to close door to balcony if at front, prob at back too but greener there. Room good, a little worn. Single beds comfy but soft and have seen some wear. Pleased i didnt book a double. Sliding bathroom door.

Easy access,large clean room but needs revamping. I didn’t think it was worth the money dated.

Plenty of free parking spaces. I had a dog with me and there is great space to walk them.

I thought it was a lot of money to pay for a hotel that needs updating. It’s VDV so you expect it to good.. unfortunately it’s a bit tired looking. Horeca staff should remember they have guests and they’re at work not a meeting up place. A lot of noise from what sounded like young staff.

I had to change 2 x to get a room without a sewer smell. This hotel really needs a makeover.

The breakfast is sufficient. People are polite as any other VD Valk hotel but that really is it.

The sewer smell in the hallway and the rooms. This hotel is old and needs a major make over if they want to stay a VD Valk hotel. I will not stay there anymore. I will pay a little more and further away for a newer hotel.

Superb

Very nice hotel, doggie friendly, fantastic restaurant and breakfast - ideal for transit with a family. Quiet,if you consider it is in front of the motorway.

Light in the bathroom did not work and the door to the bathroom were tricky (heavy sliding door). There is no fridge in the room and old style radiator, rather than automatic temperature set up.

Very friendly and helpful staff, in any department. Especially Rosita at the Reception office as I had an infected intestinal on arrival and helped me excellent. Food is great. Rest of staff nice people. Will come again
