The house and view in a secluded neighborhood are beautiful. We had 7 adults and 2 pets; the size of the house and available bedrooms were perfect. The dogs loved roaming the woods and walking along the pond. Evening included use of an outdoor hot tub and a fire in a fire pit. The owner met us at the house to offer information and was extremely hospitable. This is a perfect getaway. The only disappointing thing was that we came for a wedding and didn't have more time on the property.

This place is exactly what we were hoping for. It’s a nice open floor plan with comfortable seating options. Only 1 room had two beds, which isn’t always the case when using a bnb listing. The kitchen was large. The patio roomy and well lit.

30 minute drive to downtown Austin. 1 hour to San Antonio. Minutes to Kyle and Buda. After day trips, come home and watch the sun set. The property has breath taking views. So relaxing!

Loved our stay at this beautiful house! My husband and I had a small reception party here after getting married and everyone had great things to say about the house and outdoor space. Michael was very communicative and responsive which was awesome. Will hopefully be staying here again. Loved it!!

A total of two families stayed for two nights and were very comfortable at this residence. The owners were very attentive and kind. We had another family visit during the day and what a wonderful time with lots of room! Property was perfect for dogs to run around. We hope to be back soon!

Fantastic property and home to find respite and enjoy real relaxation! This is an amazing custom home with wonderful pastoral and wooded views. The spacious layout allowed for us to spread out comfortably or come together, as desired. We were there for a few weeks and it truly felt like home - instantly! The owners are fantastic hosts and were so responsive to our every need. This vacation rental gem is a 'must stay' location in the easy-to-get-to Kyle or Buda. If we go back that direction, we'll definitely ask to stay again. We felt very blessed to be able to stay as long as we did!

We had such a good time staying here with extended family. We had 6 adults and 4 kids staying here for 3 nights and the house was perfect for us. The owner met us there and walked us through where everything is. The property has a country feel, but it's only 5 minutes away from any shopping or restaurants you need. We will definitely be back!

We were blown away by the house and property, and we're inspired in our own search for a home. Mike and Kim were incredible hosts: attentive, kind and friendly. Very cool to see (and hear) the neighbors' cows and to watch the wildlife (hawks, backyard birds, and we saw deer hoof prints). Our only regret was that we didn't stay longer this time. We'll just have to book again!

We arrived early but Michael was very considerate. We had the wedding party over for pizza and drinks the night before wedding for everyone to meet and had 20 people on deck outside was great. Place was fantastic wasn’t until we were on our way out we noticed the owner was the writer of one of my favorite comics over the hedge. Would recommend for weekend stay for anyone who likes quiet getaway but close to lots of restaurants and activities.

Amazing country setting. Michael was very helpful during the check in process and throughout the stay. If you need a place to go and relax this is the place. We made great use of the large back porch and just relaxed each afternoon. Minutes from anywhere you might need to go for shopping. Definitely would stay here again.

My cousins and I held a little reunion at Michael's homestead in Buda and spent the weekend laughing, cooking delicious meals and floating the San Marcos River. The house is in a beautiful area of Texas, very close to Austin, TX. The serenity of watching the sunsets on the back porch with a glass of wine in hand was just what we needed to unwind and detach from the craziness of city life. The town of Buda is so stinkin' adorable that we only wished we could've stayed longer than a weekend so we could explore the area further. Thank you for being such a great host, Michael!

We enjoyed the great deck and wonderful home during a Texas State graduation. We had out of town guests, so perfectly situated to enjoy San Marcos activities and Austin fun. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed and our hosts were very quick to respond to questions. A warm welcome and gift was a nice touch! Just wish we could’ve spent more time on the patio -but got to see deer, coyotes, hummingbirds & armadillos. (Oh and I feel like I know a celebrity!)

We loved staying here with family. The location is wonderful with a short drive to hill country activities as well as South Austin. The property is beautiful with acres of land, trees, wildflowers, and a small lake (not super close to the house, so not a danger for young kids). The house had everything we needed and Michael kindly showed us around and left a bottle of wine. We couldn’t believe we could have this rustic wooded experience so close to town. We would come again!

We named this place the ponderosa. We had so much fun as a family. It's a little hard to find . But once your GPS directs you to the right place it's easy. It's close enough to grocery store, and restaurants, but far enough away to feel like you're in the country. We we're impressed with the owners who actually greeted us at the property. It was a great place to stay and reunite with our kids and grandkids. Plenty of rooms for all 12 of us.

This listing gives the country feel while being close to Austin amenities. The host checked us in personally and was very gracious. The pictures do not do this listing justice. Plenty of space in the house for family activities and to spread out. Outside the property has the Texas Hill Country atmosphere. We highly recommend this property!
