Great stay in a lovely quiet location that is easy to get to by bus

We liked that we were away from the busier Old Town and that we were on the ocean. We were able to take a walk along the bay area and really enjoyed taking in the views there.

We liked everything, it was nice to have the option to enjoy dinner right at the hotel and a bonus that there was a discounted first night for the dinner. The buffet was good and breakfast was great as well. If the weather permits it would be wonderful to be able to sit outside overlooking the ocean.

It can be better!

The rooms were very clean. Good breakfast. Very nice seaview, also nice hotel garden.

The whole hotel is outdated: furniture, doors, bathroom but you cannot see this one in the hotel pictures!!! As hotel clients we had to pay for sunbeds, 15 €/pers/day, used only 2 hours, VERY DISAPPOINTING!! Buffet dinner included, without tap water, also disappointing!

Pleasant and comfortable

The view was lovely. The breakfast was good with reasonable variety of foods. Staff were friendly. There is bus stop right outside the hotel which was great. Takes you straight into old town. There are nice restaurants not too far away.

There is no lift available so if you are on the third floor its a trek.

Good hotel, great staff, lovely location but needs a renovation

Clean hotel, large rooms with balcony overlooking the bay. Large bathroom. Lovely outdoor bar area and fab little beach for swimming. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is okay, nothing special.

The hotel is certainly in need for modernisation, it's almost come full circle and aspects of it are actually quite in fashion again funnily enough! We visited another hotel after this one built during a similar era which had been renovated in the past few years and was done absolutely fabulously, leaning into the retro feel of the original hotel. Strong smell of cleaning product when we entered the room. Loudest non soft close toilet seats I've ever had the displeasure of hearing.

nice beachfront location with aprox 15min taxi ride to old town

We stayed here as i had made a mistake with another booking, the views were amazing and beachfront access ready for a swim was lovely.

the hotel was a little tired but ok, staff struggled to understand our requests for drinks etc but we got there eventually. you had to pay for sunbeds at the hotel which cost us 75 euros per day for a plastic sunbed no mattress as and when the staff were available to unlock the beds. Towels were hit an miss depending on if laundry has sent them back to the pool bar. Breakfast was basic but again acceptable.

A little piece of tranquillity

The location was perfect. The view is amazing right from 1st thing in the morning with breakfast on the terrace to late afternoon drinks overlooking the sea. Lovely welcome bottle of wine in room on arrival

Heaven on earth given my debilitating back pain.

The staff helped me obtain Tylenol for my horrific back pains. There was a separate area for my 4 year old to play quietly when my back pain was too intense. The location was beyond beautiful.

Splendid time at Hotel Splendid - We loved it!

The view from our room was amazing. Overlooking the gardens and sea view, all rolled into one. The bed was comfy and aircon worked well. Whole hotel was clean, the staff were friendly, particularly the restaurant staff in the mornings. The beach on the doorstep was just stunning. No need for a pool!

The hotel was a little bit dated, and looks a bit like an office block when you first pull up. However, do not judge a book by it's cover!

Beautiful property in a great location, right next to beaches and coves that were private and scenic. Great breakfast provided with beautiful cocktail bars around. Our room had a beautiful view of the ocean.

Location was very good and strategic, it has a dedicated bus stop.

There were no sleepers until I asked for, fridge was too noisy, staff was not attended many times in the breakfast so I had to wait until someone came. There were no electrical plug near the bed, it was far away and u have to plug off either TV or the Fridge

Location is great and views are absolutely stunning. Dinner buffet was reasonably priced for what was on offer.

There's no lift in the hotel and the rooms were a little dated. Beach front was lovely but you have to pay extra for a bed, which was a shame. A tea/coffee station in the room would have been nice.

Stunning view location away from the crowds of Old Town Dubrovnik.

The location was beautiful and away from the crowds in old town. The hotel is on a bus route that made it easy to grt to the center when we wanted to get to tours. Stunning views from the terraces and restaurant of the Adriatic sea. The hotel staff is excellent. That was my experience throughout Croatia.

I enjoyed having breakfast buffet included, the food was abundant but rather mediocre. Eggs were very cold and bacon was undercooked. There is a lovely restaurant right by the sea where you can order off the menu, but it closes at 5pm, which means you are limited to the buffet at the main restaurant. That might change in high season. To the staff’s credit, they did let us order from the dinner menu, as my friend is gluten intolerant. The staff is exceptional.

Great location

A very nice hotel especially during the summer months. It has a nice outdoor area and the location is great. Parking is on site in front of the hotel. Breakfast was good and the room was clean and a good size. We also had dinner there, as they offered a special rate for guests. Croatia is quite expensive, so this was welcomed. The hotel does not have an indoor pool, but their sister hotel which is about 2 minutes by walk, offers this at a charge of around €11 per person if I am not mistaken, which is a bit high for just a quick dip. Massages however are at a great price though!

It would have been nice for the pool to have had a lower charge for entry.
