good staff good location good breakfast

breakfast was really good I enjoyed the gym as well it was very clean the water and shower all were decent, the cleanness was really unmatched and above expectations, the restaurant and the cellar was really good as well

the staff were very very stiff on the deposit and minibar like they were checking if you had anything from the minibar or not, also the minibar was extremely overpriced so watch out guys you need to be careful

Lovely Stay Overall

Good location just a few minutes walk to bo kaap,beautiful view from the hotel,the room was perfect and clean.

The room was comfortable overall; however, on the last day there was a slight odor coming from the carpet, which could be improved by ensuring it is thoroughly dried and refreshed.

Basic and to the point

The lodge is basic and offers what a lodge should offer. If you on a very short stay for business this can work,however if you have a longer stay then this might not be a good fit as the rooms are tiny and can become stuffy. The pool deck area was lovely. The walk in shower was modern and spacious.

The restaurant was not appealing and lacked ambience . The food was basic . Checking out takes a while so make sure you npt pressed for time if you are checking out.

The property is ideally situated but the staff can do better in terms of service.

Value for money and the location.

Parking inconvenience culminating in my vehicle being scratched when it was being moved.Nobody has to date claimed responsibility and I have to incur costs to fix it.Management has not bothered to send me the CCTV surveillance despite my request.

As I booked for two separate rooms. I didn't expect a surprise of being asked to pay a deposit of R2000.00 for a mini bar. I hope that they need to specify all the hidden costs as they reflect awkward.

- Booked this short stay for my mom and unfortunately she reported being bothered by cleaning staff more than once on her first day there - as they were unsure whether the room had been cleaned or not . One would've hoped that there would be a schedule or something in their office that indicated if the room was cleaned or not and thus there not being a need to bother guests unnecessarily. - Also no complimentary water? Absolutely everything in the room has a charge attached. - TV only had a few SABC channels - would be nice if they are least had a basic Compact package from dstv.

A bargain

I was upgraded to a suite with newly renovated bathroom. A very nice room, bathroom was the highest standard I’ve come across in South Africa! At my rate this was an absolute bargain. And in a nice area, walking distance to company’s gardens and lots of excellent restaurants.

Great hotel

The hotel is safe and clean. Staff very friendly. The establishment has a restaurant and bar inside, no need to go out. They also do room service.

The card keys where a bit annoying, everytime you struggle to.open the hotel room. Takes a minute or more for it to open. The hotel staff did explain where it happens but I think the should be another option to the matter.

Hell on earth.

I have liked the hotel and been a loyal supporter for a long time.

We went to breakfast and came back to find take our room was robbed. The manager claimed to have survived the cctv footage but saw nothing, in the company of a police officer - the same thing. Which made me feel like they were in ‘cahoots’ somehow. My possessions are insured but I am determined to blow this out of the water. I have a law degree and I have worked in the media for a long time and I will fight for this as hard as possible. If you want to contact me 0832295174

This was our first visit to this scenic and beautiful accommodation. Our visit to Cape Town Lodge Hotel was fantastic, so bitterly short but very sweet.Really appreciate the warm welcome from Mustafa who genuinely shared tips and advice for our stay. You are a true asset and an example of really great customer service. Jacques , you are a jack of many trades. Thank you for sorting a faulty remote to navigating a stuck vehicle, you did it with a smile on your face and very effectively. Jason, what a pleasure to visit your Butchers Grill, despite a small challenge,I appreciate your diplomacy and empathy. Ending, I would say you want to come back to a clean and tasteful surrounding..a piece of home away from home.Commend these staff members especially, who went above and beyond.Thank you for making our short visit so very memorable. Appreciate you guys!

Being a smoker... just disliked the traveling time to a designated smoking area...but I understand the reasoning.

Comfortable hotel in the heart of the City

The room was spacious and comfortably furnished. The bed was very comfortable and the shower excellent. The staff were very friendly. There was a comfortable little bar downstairs, and the restaurant, 'The Butcher's Grill' is definitely worth a visit. The steaks are superb and not too expensive!

There wasn't much not to like about this hotel. The breakfast was a bit on the expensive side, and I felt the hot food could have been a little warmer.

They make you pay a 300-400 deposit fee, on food items they place in their rooms. This money must either be paid in cash, or via EFT. If you choose the EFT option, you can only be refunded after one week.

Although we booked 2 rooms the one room was big enough and had 3 beds in which would have worked out cheaper had we been told about it. Quite noisy with road traffic.

Affordable but don’t expect much in terms of service.

The room was decent and comfortable. The bathroom was also good.

Bathroom- the toilet paper holder is not really located at an easy to reach place Mini bar - over emphasis on this with things strewn over beds on our arrival with letters that are not very clear on whether the goodies are complimentary or at cost. Reception - the hotel asked for a R300 deposit for each night booked which we refused as we did not intend to have breakfast, use the parking, eat from the mini bar or use other facilities. Secondly our key kept failing every day that we left the hotel. Meaning we had to have it re coded every time we went out and came back The exterior of the hotel was filthy with public urination. The hotel was not washing its exterior at all. The music playing in the hallways was too loud in general. They turn it off at 10 pm but not very restful generally. Every morning we got accosted by the guy wanting to check the mini bar and they only cleaned our rooms late in the afternoon.

The staff at reception is so rude and heartless , they treat people like animals due to skin color especially the white lady who words at reception she’s very racist and they made me pay a fine for chocolates I did not eat which where stolen in my room from their bar before I checked in horrible staff I was shocked

The location is perfect near Bo-kaap. The breakfast is outstanding with variety of choices and the menu is differ daily. The breakfast staff are humble and welcoming. The lodge was surprising, despite the low price I was surprised it even had a gym facility and a pool the stay there was very good and the staff treated me with care and love.

Great location in the CBD. It had a gym. Good steak restaurant on premises. Off street parking at a cost.
