Recharging the batteries in a cosy modern country home

B&B La Gotale is a gem and I will definitely go back. My family and I only stayed for one night, but I could have easily stayed for many more night. The house: although the B&B is located not to far from the highway (as in a couple of miles, not next to it), the house and garden are a peaceful haven after a day of walking and exploring the Ardennes. The house has been decorated with great precision and felt like a home I would love to be living in. We loved the living area with a very inviting sofa and books, and also spent some time on the south oriented terrace overviewing the countryside. The room: we stayed in the family room, which is perfect for families with children. In the room you have a bathroom with shower, a large double bed (with a fantastic mattress and linen) and a small (yet very safe) staircase to the kids room in the attic of the house. The kids absolutely loved having their own little nest in the room. The modern country home style also features in the main room and the kids' room (think white walls, white furniture, black accents, gorgeous wooden beams). The breakfast: so very very good. The host made the most delicious banana pancakes and offered a wide variety of breakfast items (yoghurt, bread, different spreads,...). I'm sure nobody leaves this breakfast with hunger :-) The host: she is extremely welcoming, also to our kids and dog, which cannot be said for many other B&B owners. She joined us for a chat, but does not impose herself on her guests. If ever in need of a good restaurant or a local activity, please make sure to ask her recommendations.

It was a fantastic stay in an impeccable, beutifully renovated and decorated old house! Ms Hilde is a lovely host, which not only welcomes everybody with a real smile but prepares amazing breakfasts (with a colour touch!) and also provides indications for great walking tracks! Absolute recommendation for a relaxing break in a great country setting!

We had an amazing stay. Hilde is a lovely host, the property is beautiful and has a cozy atmosphere, perfect for the ones looking for good days of rest and relaxation. Breakfast is varied and freshly served with seasonal products and local specialties. We look forward to having another stay.

Fabubous stay in Manhay in the midst of a snow landscape.

It is a perfect location with a great view on the landscape. Very good meals in the evening and excellent breakfast. The hostess is very friendly and makes time to talk with you.
