Ferienhaus Lüneburg

The outdoor grill and oven was great; tourist restaurants in the downtown of Luneburg are quite expensive. Kitchen, for the most part, is equipped with what is needed for cooking. Nice that there are two separate bedrooms and there was a table with a lamp on top to facilitate using my laptop computer. Just one kilometer from the center of Luneburg. 800 meters from the rail station. Cute and cozy layout. Host speaks English.

No washing machine; I had to take the bus to Bavendorf to do my laundry where my friend lives to do laundry -- not very convenient. I was amazed that there was no washing machine; I explained to the host that if he wants long staying guests, he ought to get a washing machine installed. He only said that in the description, it does not say that there is a washing machine and that there is "no space" -- that was a lame one. No microwave -- yes there is an oven but that does not obviate a microwave for heating up take away items of leftovers in a minute. The furniture in the bedrooms apart from the bed itself, which was comfortable, is sparse consisting of box-like containers so you get to live out of boxes. No wardrobe/furniture with drawers. Compared to the first two items this is a minor quibble. All the outlets were two pronged circular interior ones; none were the two-pronged flat ones, for which most of my adaptors are suitable. By chance,, I had with me one two pronged "inny" adaptor. The house could have had on offer a couple of universal adaptors or a a few of the flat two-prong plugs (maybe they are not, in fairness, used in Germany). I asked host in advance for the possibility of early check-in but he was non-committaI so I changed my plans thinking that it was not possible only to find out that there is "self" check-in so I changed my plans. He could have told me in advance that check in is self check in -- check in any time you like. I thought he was too busy that day with other matters but his presence was not needed to check in. Upon check in, the heat was not working so later in the evening he came by as the remote system (it is a "smart" house) was not functioning. In person, he is very friendly. If you have a car, there is no private parking. I found the lights that turn on automatically in the hall and in the area of the steep staircase to be annoying.

Perfect stay! My family really enjoyed it and never really wanted to leave haha. The host was super amazing and helpful! Responsive and catered to all their needs. The house is beautiful and the location is great! The house is fully equipped with everything you might need for a long-term stay.

The house is actually even better than it looks on the photos; very clean and very functionally arranged, with excellent aesthetic view. The space which does not look too large from outside is more than sufficient and inside you feel very comfortable. Not to mention that there is everything you may need for a pleasant stay. The old center of Luneburg with the churches and medieval houses is very close. We highly recommend this place!
