The house was very nice and comfortable. The only downside was the water pressure was extremely poor so had to stager dishwashing and showers throughout the day. Did not do any laundry so don’t know how that would work. Parking was a bit tight but we made it work. Could use some instructions as to how the TV worked. Never got it working (not even the grandkids) but really didn’t need it. The outside property was very accommodating and the lake was great for boating and fishing. Could have used a few chairs on the balcony but the gazebo worked out great. I feel that the owner would have been very accommodating if we had the need to contact him. The Klimas Family

The house was as advertised. Clean, roomy, great views, nice deck, and nice gazebo. Owner had a canoe and kayaks on site, as well as a rentable pontoon. All of this made our family vacation much better than anticipated. Adults and kids enjoyed themselves immensely. Would definitely do it again.

Lovely view! Great layout, we rented a boat and used the float tube that is provided with the cottage, everyone had a blast tubing around for hours! the kitchen is large and well equipped, we had plenty of room even with ten people. The sunset views are the best!

We loved it! Kitchen area was spacious for family meals. Beautiful view. Great layout. We'd like to come back for a summer visit for water fun and fishing! It was a little difficult to find the driveway. The well water was a little difficult to get used to for us city folk. We felt bad we could not get the dishwasher to start upon leaving.

Great location but some power and maintenance challenges

House is in a great location and lake was lovely. Owner was easy to work with but we unfortunately endured a 36 hour power outage due to a large storm in the area. Owner brought over generator which was very welcome but it would only power fridge. It did not power the water pump due to problems with the switch on the water pressure pump and the ability of the well-used generator to crank up power to run the switch. It would also not power the water heater fan. Only itermittant water for 36 hours with 6 adults was a bit of a challenge. We appreciated the owners efforts to help but, given the rental cost, a whole house generator should be a consideration. Other small maintenance items like a shower not working, lights out, a slow calcium caked coffee maker and a number of wasp nests in the yard were also smaller aggravations.

My family and I had a wonderful time! The location was perfect for swimming and fishing all day. And the house was great, and easily accommodated 4 adults and 2 kids. We also rented a pontoon boat from Butterfield's, which was very convenient and affordable. Overall, a great lakeside vacation!

Wonderful 4 days with family! Celebrated my FIL's 90th birthday with my husbands 2 brothers and wives. Plenty of room for all 8 of us. And having a 1st floor bedroom/bathroom was perfect for inlaws. Home was very clean and comfortable. So close to the water and beautiful view anytime of day. Loved sitting in the gazebo and watching the stunning sunsets. Rented a pontoon from Butterfields and enjoyed having itvdocked right at our back door. Already talking about coming back next year!

we enjoyed our time at this house a lot ! the kids keep asking to go back. the set up is nice. we enjoyed the outdoors, the fire pit, the gazebo, the dock, and the swimming area around the dock is quite good for kids (probably not younger than 3 yrs old). the lake is very nice. we enjoyed renting a pontoon and going around the lake and the sandbar. Ted was very friendly and prompt with his responses and tried to accomodate our needs.

Our family of 6, plus our dog, truly enjoyed the timing of this escape the first week of August. We used the kayaks and tubes, and rented a pontoon at Butterfields. Lots of fishing, swimming on the sand bar, and walks/runs/rides through the area. Rooms were comfortable and we had everything we needed. They have a fire pit and a beautiful new gazebo we enjoyed. Great kitchen/dining set up and wonderful views.

The views and access to the lake are incredible at this house. Renting a boat from Butterfield Landing could not be easier and reasonable cost. Finding the house can be tricky and need to be careful with parking not to block the neighbors. The neighbors were friendly and helpful along with the Property Owner

Had a great time for my husband’s birthday! The house was perfect for our family. The house had everything we needed... private lake access, swimming area for the kids, private dock, kayaks, canoe, paddle boat, fire pit with firewood, a gas grill and a charcoal grill, water floats and vests, plenty of towels. The pictures don’t do the house justice. The kitchen is perfect size for baking a cake as family, and the table is large enough for family dinner with a ton of windows that show the beautiful lake. Will definitely return for another private getaway.

We have been renting summer homes on various lakes in Michigan for about 15 years and I do have to say this house in Grass Lake MI is right at the top of the list! Beautiful views, spacious kitchen (picture does not do it justice), first floor master bedroom, 3 full bathrooms and plenty of room to spread out. The backyard is compact but exactly what we wanted so mom didn't have problems with too many steps/slopes. We all were able to celebrate her 90th in style! We rented a pontoon boat from Butterfields all week which was perfect to view the 4th of July fireworks. We also brought our own jet skis since this house has a private boat ramp. The new grill made cooking so easy and the swing in the backyard was a place we all gathered. The kitchen table was HUGE with ample room for dinners and games at night. There is no T.V. on the first floor...which we LOVED! It was very hot the week we stayed with temperatures in the 90's but the house remained cool with the air conditioning. Parking is a bit tight but with proper planning you can carpool to make sure you all fit on the driveway. The boys were very happy to find the lake has wonderful fishing as well! Couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate moms birthday! We will be returning ...God willing! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home! ~ Lynn

Great experience, loved the location! Water is on all 3 side of the house, great views, beautiful sunsets. It was all that I had hoped for. Ted was great to work with, he stopped by the house on the first day to do some lawn care. He cared about every detail from beginning to end. It was so nice having access to a paddle boat and kayak too. I loved the swing in the back yard next to the fire pit. I watched beautiful sunsets from here. Not a detail was missing for me. I was able to work during the day and then relax by the water in the evenings. Internet works great for those who might be working remotely. I would highly recommend staying here. I was not aware that there was really no food delivery/grub hub in the area but was east to just go the local grocery store and get everything that I needed. I look forward to coming back again the future.

This is a great house! It is well laid out with one bed and bath downstair and three bedrooms and two baths upstairs. The owner, Ted, is great and stopped by to greet us. We loved the comfortable bedrooms, clean bathrooms, big dining table, outside patio set and the firepit with swing. The house has water on three sides and the best fishing was in the back on the channel. We used the kayaks, there are three and there is also a paddleboat but we did not get it out. A short walk down the road is Butterfield Landing Marina where we rented a pontoon boat. The lake was wonderful! The house is on Wolf Lake, which is one mile accross, it is connected to Little Wolf Lake (behind) and Olcott Lake (straight across Wolf Lake). Sunset from the front yard were beautiful. Things I would strongly recommend: bring bottled water, bring beach towels, bring starter logs and firewood. The water is well water and while treated and filtered is has a high mineral content and tends to be brownish. There are plenty of towels in the house but beach towels are great for the boat. This is a wonderful house in a wonderful location and we hope to return again soon! Thanks Ted!

Wonderful view. Lake location was great. Lots of space in the house. Finding the house in the dark when we first arrived was quite tricky. Wished the TV reception was better. Otherwise, it was a wonderful get-away.
