Fantastic 2 day stay Jan 2026

We had a lovely, peaceful stay. A fantastic location with the surrounding hills and nearby lake setting. The pool was big enough for a decent swim and pleasantly warm. Great views and comfy bed too. We'd love to come back again!

Nothing we didn't like, only feedback would be it took us a while to figure out how to get the hob to work - not all the pans are compatible with a convection hob.

An enjoyable stay

Beautiful location, nice clean and tastefully decorated accommodation. Comfortable bed and a good shower. The swimming pool was a very welcome bonus, we enjoyed using that. We opted for the firepit package which was really enjoyable toasting the marshmallows below clear skies and the moon/stars. Great local walks which arnt crowded with tourists. Infact we saw no-one at all on our walk! Some footpaths a little overgrown/hard to follow in places so a map is recommended.

Nothing not to like. Perhaps a ‘welcome tray’ in the accomodation would be nice. Put your guide book on there and the caffetierre and tea pot, and a couple of teas and a caffetierre coffee sachet would be nice. Often people will enjoy a hot drink as soon as they checkin.

We loved the location! Our cottage, Robin, was perfect for us. The room was always cozy and warm, kitchen was fully equipped and the great part was that we got to enjoy fresh eggs! 😊 We weren’t expecting it to be better than the photos posted online, it’s even better!

We stayed at kite one cottage.. unfortunately this is a lower floor part of the cottage and the noise that was coming from the floor above was horrific.. started at 5.45am .. it sounded like there were a family of elephants up there.. very very squeaky floor boards and could here them speaking

A peaceful stay in a gorgeous location

Beautiful views and a pleasant walk around the lake to take them in, super clean, quiet pool, great range of entertainment in the games room, everything you need in the kitchen, friendly staff.

We loved it, so this is being very picky - the fridge was a bit noisy in Robin considering it's in the same room as the bedroom. Some of the cooking utensils' handles were a bit sticky from not being properly cleaned by previous guests.

Piece of paradise

We had a lovely stay at Lake Cottages. Situated in a beautiful valley, the view on the lake is breathtaking. I would highly recommend it. Facilities are great and the cottage we stayed in was cosy and warm. The pool and sauna were clean and well kept.

Some equipment in the game room needs attention, some are worn off.

The perfect, impromptu place

A very warm welcome at reception. The room was spotless and ideal for what we wanted. The facilities on site are great, pool, laundry, tennis court, pitch n putt, little walk around the lake. It’s perfect for a little break.

A great base to explore mid Wales, comfortable and at a good price.

A beautiful cottage set in the Welsh hills. A spacious lounge, dining and kitchen area with all that you would need for self-catering in terms of a kitchen home from home. Seating was comfortable and the bed was really comfortable too. Easily a good space for up to four people with amazing views from every window. Though I did not use the pool or games room, these were great available facilities along with ample parking and tennis courts and other facilities available. Though others were staying in the other cottages it was often not noticeable that they were there. A lovely lake to walk around and a good setting/base from which to explore mid-Wales.

Though it did not bother me, do be aware that the sheep around the property can be heard and sometimes late in the night/early in the morning. Again, not an issue for me, but sometimes I could hear a little noise from the games room/swimming pool area situated beneath my cottage.

Beautiful location with outstanding views. Very nice and spacious perfect for our family and lots of room for the little one to run around. The games room was a massive hit for us too and the pool which we only used once but had all to ourselves and it was lovely and warm. Staff was very friendly and helpful

We had a great family stay. The cottage was very comfortable with everything we needed. The swimming pool was a highlight, lots of fun and always very clean. They have a great games room with lots of toys for my 3 and 6 yr to play with.

Beautiful location and great facilities. Pool was nice and warm. Games room well equipped and free use of tennis and golf equipment.

Sadly the double bed was not particularly comfortable. Water pressure was too low for the dishwasher to complete a cycle but plenty of hot water.

Peace and Quiet in Rural Wales

Ideal for photographers, families with small children and those who need to get away from the pressures of daily living and who wish to relax in a beautiful, quiet countryside location. Includes an indoor swimming pool and a games room. Close to Rhayader and the Kite Feeding Farm.

Only accessible via a long single track road with few passing places. There is poor quality Wifi available in communal areas (a pay phone is available at Reception). Be prepared to be off grid! The cottages are strictly speaking 'rural apartments' - bear this in mind if you have accessibility issues. Make sure you bring everything you need. There is no welcome pack. Nearest pub is a 20 minute drive away.

Peaceful getaway

The Cottage itself was amazly cosey. It was super clean and supplys everything you need. The location was beautiful and so peaceful. The pool was nice and games room was okay. The bed was super comfy.

No Wifi in room, but wasnt missed. Had to take own rubbish out, and strip the bed.
