Although we had a great week the one thing that spoiled it was the house being so cold
The location is excellent. The kitchen is well equipped and the bathroom was great with a plentiful supply of hot water.
The house felt cold particularly if we were sitting watching tv or reading. The windows and doors seem to be quite old and lose a lot of the heat from the house. We also lit the fire but still felt quite cold. It might be an idea to have a couple of throws available for use on the sofas particularly in colder weather .

Lovely area, okay cottage, abit over priced if I’m honest
Close the village centre (10min walk) if that. Very quiet location peaceful and cozy cottage. Parking round the back for 1 car was a plus. Very comfortable bed.
While the bathroom had obviously just been modernised to a very good standard the rest of the cottage was abit tired. Just small things like paint and wall paper flaking off some walls, carpets were abit worn and furniture like odd wooden chairs in a few rooms of the cottage very fragile with the chair in the front room borderline broken. Very old flat screen tv in front room for the price of the stay was surprised not to have a cheap smart tv at least. Back door where you enter stiff and not very secure. No cleaning products so have to take your own (not a massive deal) but also no oven trays to cook anything in oven. Lots of pans a cutlery but not oven trays. And mixed info on check in and out times, advert for property saids 15:00 check in but email I received and follow up confirmed it was actually 17:00 check in. Same with check out advert saids 10:00 but had a email that said 09:00. Stayed in many locations in the lakes I go twice a year for the last 4 years for long weekends and while it’s a lovely quiet area the cottage was just okay so in my eyes slightly over priced for what you can get in the price range in the lakes.

Perfect for our week of walking but a huge price hike from our previous stay.
Fantastic location with lots of amazing walking on the doorstep. Warm and lots of hot water and a lovely bathroom.
Property in need of some serious TLC: window frames rotting, damp patches, carpet moths have moved in! Oven gloves and a clean oven would have been nice. In the past one could expect a log and some kindling for a fire on check in night……we remembered logs but forgot kindling to no fire until we could go shopping. We left some for the next guests who I am sure will appreciate it.

Excellent cottage, but a few things missing.
Charming cottage. Excellent quiet location, village centre only 5 mins walk away, down quiet country lane. Far enough from centre to avoid crowds during busy times. Fells and walks are on your doorstep.
When you're used to the convenience of being able to glance at a wall clock, or one on the mantelpiece or at the bedside, it's VERY strange to stay in this cottage which has no clocks at all. Also, a spare toilet roll would have been a courtesy (especially in a cottage that sleeps 6) And finally, there was no kitchen cleaning stuff provided, should you spill on the cooker hob or the kitchen work surfaces. We would book this cottage again, but would make sure we brought all of the above with us, next time.

.
The cottage is lovely. We loved how its set out a real home from home. The bathroom was new but needs a mirror though. The beds are so comfy . The area is so quiet and relaxing.
Needs a better sign on the wall/gate took a while to find post code was wrong . The garden could be better utilized and fenced off for dogs and little kids. Needed a mirror in the bathroom.( although Bathroom looks new) I didnt see the point in the big deep bath myself as the shower is great some will love it.

Very good value for money, needs subtle changes to be perfect!
To our surprise the bathroom was completely updated, there was a brilliant shower, under floor heating and a big bath overlooking beautiful views. The second bedroom also had a double bed (seen better days) but comfortable enough! The master bedroom had a new bed and mattress and was very comfortable indeed! The surrounding views are amazing and very very quiet location. The kitchen was good enough to do what you needed to do and the fireplace was lovely. The kitchen had good cooking facilities and equipment (I am being cheeky but a coffee machine would have been amazing while looking out on the views). Parking was fine, a little tight as we had to reverse down the driveway. We wouldn’t know where to put the other vehicle if you had 2, possibly in the village?
The sofas downstairs where very uncomfortable and no big coffee table to play games or hold plates (minor thing). After a long walk we wanted to relax on the sofas and the cushions were worn, didn’t match the sofas and just didn’t sit right. The carpet downstairs is very warn and needs a deep clean/replacement! Although the bath was gorgeous, to use it was quite impossible. There was never enough hot water to fill it right up so we ended up our top half cold and bottom half hot- we understand this cottage is an old building but they maybe should have considered a smaller bath for the amount of hot water. A gate out of the back would have been ideal for when you have pets/ children as there really is little space for them in the front and rear garden, but we didn’t spend a lot of time our in the garden. I think this would help with the relationship of the next door neighbour as she was not very welcoming to us or our pets, maybe previous bad experiences with guests?

Beautiful cottage in a quiet, rural location
Beautiful location. Easy walk to Grasmere. Very peaceful.
The directions! The postcode doesn’t take you to the right place. It’s actually off Easedale Road. Turn right at a house called Goody Raise and it’s on your left up there. :)
