Host was wonderful, made us all feel very welcome. Three generous bedrooms and 1.5 baths. We were a family of 4 and kids had their own rooms. Owner really helpful and arranged bikes and kayaks for us, but the weather wasn’t great for it. Wonderful views, right on the water. Owners made us a lovely meal on our last day there. Views of Palenika from the kitchen window, peaceful location. Can walk to paklenika and supermarkets and beaches. Big Tommy’s supermarket with fresh meat and cheese counter only 2km away. Zadar & Krka waterfalls are 45 mins by car. Split is 1:30 away. Really easy to get on and off the toll motorway. We stayed for 9 nights and there was plenty for us to do.
Confirmed with the owners son (who handles the booking and comms) that this was definitely the apartment we were staying in. Then 2 days before we arrive we are told there is a problem with the apartment and he has moved us to the top floor apartment. When we got there, it was clear that the owner was living in this downstairs apartment. The top apartment has a thin balcony, but you cannot have a table with 4 chairs around it. We were extremely dissatisfied and disappointed with this, esp when we could have easily changed our booking and gone elsewhere with proper outdoor space, had he told us this was not the apartment we were staying in. We like having our breakfast and lunch outside on holiday and this was simply not possible on the thin balcony upstairs. Watching the owner sit out on the first floor balcony with friends around the table was hurtful. The only reason we didn’t say anything was because the owner himself was a gentleman. The kitchen and dining area in the top apartment didn’t have any views, and when the weather was bad for a few days, we sat playing at the kitchen table looking at walls instead of the view of the sea.
