Zhongshan Hostel

We were struggling to find a place to stay near Alishan that was not extortionate and this place in Fenchihu turned out to be perfect. The owner is the nicest person I met in Taiwan, she was eager to help and even drove us to the town nearby in the morning to catch the bus. The breakfast was yummy and sooo generous. The room its simple but you have everything you need. Its also close to a few more cute trails that you can do after Alishan and the bus stop its literally diagonally. Highly recommend this place if you are more on a budget.

Simple accommodation in a fantastic location, as we were able to access plenty of walks and the old street . The owners were helpful and were happy to cater for my vegan friend , at breakfast. Breakfast was delicious and varied. The owners were very knowledgeable about the local area, and were able to answer all our questions. The photos show the rooms honestly , and arr spotlessly clean.

It’s a small hotel by the road, very close to the main old street (5 minute walk) there was a big language barrier as the staff doesn’t speak English but they tried their best using the automatic translation app. The hotel is very quiet at night and the beds are comfortable. Traditional Breakfast is included.

The room was a little cold especially at night
