Great central location that is exceptionally priced. It’s great accomodation made even better by the attention to detail

Can’t believe this place is only 2 stars!! Modern, clean and great staff. Perfect location in the town square and surrounded by food and services. The little things that the owners are doing it what made it even better for me, beach towels, body washers, a hook for the shower heads so you can have a proper shower, the list goes on. Don’t hesitate to stay here.

Nikki & Katerina very polite & friendly even helped with our cases. Room was comfortable & clean, bed was very comfortable. Water pressure was very good with plenty of hot water for the shower. Liked & appreciated the tea & coffee facilities & fresh fruit in our room. Enjoyed sitting on the veranda overlooking the square.

First thing we absolutely loved: the staff! Wonderful people, welcoming, they gave us great recommendations for the food and places to visit (let them give you advices!). The hotel is in the center square of Kissamos. There are a lot of parkings nearby. The room is comfortable and has all the services you need, also for cooking. If you need anything else, there is a common area where you can take soap, water, towels and umbrellas for the beach, etc. They also put something to eat for breakfast every morning (fresh fruits, pie, biscuits and hot coffee), for free! Cleaning and towels change everyday. In addition you can benefit from free laundry service.

If we really want to find something negative. The shower door had some problem closing and water spilled out.

Warmly recommended : The team was incredibly nice, they were always smiling, giving us great advice, offered free coffee and cakes in the morning, beach towels and umbrella, free laundry service, fresh water. Nice hotel in the center of Kissamos

The hotel is situated in the center of Kissamos where the activity is really nice at night. Rooms are functional and very clean. No breakfast is provided but you can have coffee and drinks any time in the lobby as well as fruits and other snacks. Also very good coffees on the seaside 5 minutes walk from the hotel propose breakfasts. The staff is really nice and helping. There is no lift to reach the rooms on the 1st floor but they carry luggages for you. They are also very helpful in providing information regarding visits and activities. I fully recommend this hotel in Kissamos

Niki and Katerina, the heart and soul of Castell Hotel, go above and beyond to ensure every detail of your stay is perfect. Their passion for hospitality shines through in every interaction, whether it’s offering personalized recommendations for exploring the stunning beaches of Balos, Falassarna, or Elafonisi, or sharing insider tips about local tavernas and hidden gems in Kissamos. Their knowledge of the area is invaluable, and they delivered it with such enthusiasm that it elevated our entire experience. The hotel itself is a gem—spotlessly clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed with comfortable beds, soundproof rooms, and charming balconies offering views of the vibrant Skalidi Square or a glimpse of the sea. The little touches, like the 24/7 coffee and treat corner stocked with fruits, cookies, and amenities, reflect their commitment to guest comfort. I was particularly impressed by the “bring & share” corner, which had everything from toiletries to beach gear—an unexpected and delightful addition. A really comfortable time with lovely owners in a great hotel.

The staff at the Castell Hotel are exceptional - very friendly and extremely helpful and considerate. They are always happy to talk and spend a bit of the day with you and have lots of suggestions for places to go and beaches to visit. When I was there, it was very hot and they even left my air conditioning on after cleaning so that it would be a treat to get into the room after a day on the beach or at ancient sites. I actually asked them to stop because I know it's expensive and a waste of electricity! I was provided with a very large breakfast every day in my room. This is not normal. Coffee, water, fruit, biscuits, etc are provided complimentary communally outside the rooms but I was given service to my room and included salad, yoghurt and pastries. I was in one of the superior rooms but this is not an advertised service. Maybe I'm just such a wonderful person (or they felt sorry for me being on my own!). The hotel is located in the heart of Kissamos on the main square. My first night was during a music festival and a band were playing. I could watch the concert from my balcony! Luckily, they were great! I prefer being in the centre rather than on the beach because it feels a bit more genuine rather than just holiday people being around and other than when bands play, quieter! I noticed that people booked in at all times of the day - 2330h and midnight in two instances - and that there was someone there to receive them. That is a nice touch. No texted instructions and "We'll see you tomorrow". The rooms are large (even the smaller ones - I've stayed in both), comfortable and very clean. There is no dedicated parking but there is always parking nearby, if need be 220m away. But I have always found a space outside the hotel or just along the street. I love this hotel and the people who run it! If I'm visiting in this part of Crete, I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Honestly nothing. It's a small hotel on the main square so there is no entertainment provided (thank goodness), no communal lounge, dining room, bar or pool but you can tell that from the description! It's just a very nice small hotel run by fantastic people. There is an issue with local youngsters hanging about the square late at night and riding their cars and the inevitable scooters and motorbikes. This can go on till 2am but if you are a night bird like me it gives you something to watch as you drink and read or listen to music on the balcony and the double glazing is really good and does shut out all noise!

Lovely stay

We booked the hotel for a night to be able to visit Balos beach and surroundings. We were greeted by the most welcoming staff with a big smile, with lots of tips on what to do, they even offered us books and toys for our child to take to the beach. Clean rooms, great location, we had a lovely stay.

All of them are really friendly. They helped us a lot with all our needs and with helpful informations. Really value for the stay. They even offers some fruits or buscuits for free. There was some dates too when i was there, best i get so far, i ate four or five of them and they helped me with my full hurting stomach from eating too much food in plakias. A wonderful stay here.

We will forever remember our time spent at Niki's Castell Hotel. We ended up staying a couple extra nights, after travel plans had to drastically change due to cancelled flights. Couldn't have imagined a better place to be in these moments. Niki is a truly fabulous woman! Full of passion, great tips and info. And also, the wonderful space, elegantly decorated, and perfectly situated in Kissamos. Don't think twice, book with Niki! (And pro tip, it may be best to book directly for a win-win for you and the hotel to avoid 3rd party booking fees/commissions ;)). Efharisto Niki !

Amazing affordable stay with friendly owners and a great view

Owners were very friendly and very helpful with information and things to do and see helping me find the closest bus stations, places of interest and just being happy people 😁 Bed was very comfy, Kitchen was well equipped and had salt, pepper, olive oil and more for use (didn’t have anything to clean with at first but once my room got cleaned supplies were added) Bathroom and shower were also good coming with shampoo, soap, toothbrush, a hairdryer and more. Wifi also works super well compared to other places I’ve stayed at which was nice 👍

Superb small hotel - one of our favorites anywhere. Run by two young sisters who are endlessly helpful, warm, friendly and just delightful. Always ready with recommendations on where to eat and what to see. We learned so much about Kissamos and Crete from them. The evening desk clerk, Yannis, is also wonderful. The hotel is modern with attractive comfortable rooms. Great value. Central location near many restaurants. Highly recommend!

The most amazing, adorable little hotel right in the heart of town

Truly amazing, I wish I could give it 100 out of 10! First: location - right in the centre of tiny adorable Kissamos. Lot’s of little cafes, restaurants, and shops nearby. Second: the bed. I have no words for how comfortable the bed was here, like sleeping on a little cloud! Third: the people. Everyone who works here is amazing! So friendly, always willing to chat and tell you about the island. And the little cat is a sweetheart too. I would 100% recommend staying at Castell Hotel. In fact, I booked another stay before I even left 😅

I had a wonderful experience. Katerina, Niki and Yaris were so lovely and made me feel at home. They helped out when I had a problem and it was no trouble for them at all! The shelf with the free items is unbelievable,, it’s such a good idea. If you are in kissomos you should definitely stay here, it’s right in the centre square, plus also a few minutes waking to the beach. The place is simply perfect!

Wonderful hotel, with wonderful staff! Everyone is amazing, the room was very clean and comfortable! There are plenty of spaces to park near. Niki and Katerina was always ready to give advise on what beach to visit or where to eat. We really recommend this place! If we come back to Crete, we will definitely stay in Castell Hotel again!
