Spectacular Mediterranean Villa on the Irish Sea

I have never before written such a detailed review for anywhere we have stayed. However, this Home deserves it.Overall, the home is phenomenal. The views from the sitting room and the master bedroom are wonderful. The balcony views overlooking Dublin Bay and Dalkey island are beautiful. The sun rising over the ocean is warm and lovely. The secret locked path to the road below allows you to quickly walk down to a local swimming site (Vico)or a bit farther down the road to 238 stairs up to Killiney Hill park, which is incredible, or a bit farther down to Whiterock beach, easy walking distance. Other than the occasional train/dart sound/horn the location is wonderfully quiet and peaceful. The dart line is down the hill between the back garden and the ocean.Looking over Dublin Bay every day is absolutely incredible. The sunrise is beautiful.A few minute walk to Sorrento park with elevated views and Dillon park with incredible views of Dalkey island and Dublin bay. About a 10 minute walk to Collimore harbor where you can take a boat to Dalkey island and visit some ancient sites and some beautiful goatsAs with all older homes minor repairs could occur: however, in no way whatsoever does this distract from the perfection of this home. there is no air conditioning because this is Ireland. During the day the house can become quite warm during the summer so simply open the windows and doors and then the temperature is perfect.The kitchen is perfect the dining room and sitting roo

Being at the Irish Sea was a delight. Easy access to Dalkey and Dublin, even with no car. Excellent restaurants in Dalkey. We had the extra good fortune of sunny weather and cousins near by. Friends and family shared the fun in this very large villa, well appointed!

We were greeted by Orla with stunning views at Ravello. The location and accommodations were beyond expectations. Orla organized a trip, groceries and answered every question we had about Dublin and the surrounding areas. We will be back! 5 stars!

First, the views from Ravello are truly spectacular. Dalkey is a great village with excellent restaurants and the most delightful people imaginable, Dublin is a short train ride away and the caterered dinners were great. However, all was not great in paradise. The check in process was inadequate given the concierge was clearly anxious to go on vacation and there was no local back up assistance provided. The property, itself is in need of tender loving care. Beyond some paint and general outside clean up, more specifically we encountered the refrigerator ice maker did not work, 2 of 3 fire places were inoperable, a filthy outside grill, the master bathroom shower was inoperable, 2 patio lounge chairs were broken and (really should be thrown out) and 1of 2 clothes dryers was broken. We were also not notified that the alarm system was armed. We found out when it inexplicably went off. The alarm company notified Orla ,the concierge who was vacationing in Portugal, who contacted us with the code. Finally, make sure you bring shampoo, conditioner and bars of soap - none were provided.
