About this house rental
Originally built in 1924, this charming Craftsman Style Cottage is situated on a secluded dead-end street across from one of Galveston's majestic private estates. There are 2 bedrooms and one full bathroom. The house was renovated in 2012 and central AC and heat was installed. Each bedroom has a king bed and lots of closet space. The bathroom has a toilet, sink, and tub/shower combo. The bathroom has an exhaust fan with a heater as well.
The house has an open floor plan between the kitchen, dining room, and living room. The kitchen has a gas stove and oven with a griddle and a vented microwave above. There is a large butcher block island with bar seating for you and your guests. The butcher block was sourced from a local meat store who served islanders for decades. The refrigerator is a large French door style model, with the refrigerator on one side and the freezer on the other and makes plenty of ice! The kitchen is fully stocked with cups, plates, flatware, stemware, cooking utensils, pots and pans, bowls, etc. It also has a blender, toaster, and coffee maker.
The living room area has a queen sized pullout couch and two chairs. The 55" flat screen TV has Roku, cable TV, and a DVD player. High speed internet and wifi is provided. The dining area has a large table that can seat four people comfortably. There is a full size front-load washer and gas dryer in the laundry room.
The front yard has a picket fence and is landscaped with roses, seasonal flowers and bougainvillea. There is a large shaded front porch with a teak bench for enjoying the cool breeze off the Gulf of Mexico.
The back yard is fenced and landscaped as well. There is a red brick patio with a picnic table, fire pit, and charcoal grill for cookouts. There is an outdoor shower with hot and cold water and a foot wash for rinsing off the sand from you or your pets after a day at the beach.
The house is centrally located and minutes from the beach, seawall, Pleasure Pier, the Strand, Moody Gardens, and Schlitterbahn water park. There are several great restaurants close by, as well and grocery and outdoor gear stores.
Given the property’s location and amenities, it is perfect for a couple’s retreat, a weekend getaway with friends, family vacation, or long-term rental for snowbirds escaping the cold winters.

This property was perfect and the host communication was excellent. The property is located not too far from the beach. We initially wanted to walk from the house but definitely underestimated the Texas heat and opted to buy the yearly parking pass at the seawall. The pass was 45 but we definitely benefited from it. Having the shower and dog rinsing station in the backyard was perfect for when returning from the beach. I would suggest bringing extra blankets and extra toilet paper for longer stays. Other than that the house was fully equipped. There is no TV's in the bedrooms but there are books in the living room for you to check out. The host communication was outstanding, we notified them on one of the days that the blender was broken and they went out of their way to buy a new one and drop it off. We had two adults one 11yr old and and elderly dog and the house was comfortable for all. Our stay was 10 days. Would definitely consider coming back again.

We had a wonderful stay at this charming home. The house is full of character and has a warm, welcoming feel that made it easy to relax and enjoy our time away. The outdoor spaces are beautifully maintained, creating a peaceful and picturesque setting that feels like a private retreat.The home was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, and we appreciated all of the thoughtful touches throughout. Whether enjoying a morning coffee outside or unwinding in the evening surrounded by the gorgeous grounds, every moment felt special.We would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique property with charm, beauty, and a tranquil atmosphere.

We enjoyed or stay at this warm, cozy, and peaceful home. Well maintained, furnished, and supplied for all your needs. We can't say enough about the quiet street which is absent the traffic you may experience in other areas. Well located, close to restaurants, grocery stores, and the seawall. Really enjoyed the front porch and the backyard was also lovely. Our pup enjoyed her stay and especially enjoyed Kempner Park right next door. Our hosts, Doug and Rebecca, were welcoming and very responsive. This property is a gem. Thanks.....Lloyd and Liz

The house was super cute and in a great location. We were in the center of really everything. The house provided most everything; I would, however, suggest that if you are bringing the full 8 people you bring a blow-up bed. The king beds sleep "three" and the pull out couch sleeps two. We have two couples and four teenagers so we needed the extra sleeping space. Also, there a limited supplies like towels (bath), trash bags, toilet paper, etc. so plan accordingly. With basically 8 adults, we quickly went through the 3 rolls and did laundry every day. I would also recommend a plan for recycling - the trash is limited. We do not live where recycling is really doable so we did not have a plan ahead of time. I recommend bringing a large bag to place all the recyclables in. Overall, the property was comfortable, and we left right at home. We enjoyed the stay.
